I spent a lot of time researching hair salons online and found HB Collective. The initial thing that drew me to them was the ease of booking appointments online. I looked through all of the stylists' profiles and decided on Sophie. She's young, but I loved her profile, and spent extra time researching her work on her IG page. Every cut, color, blow out, etc made me envious. I had to be a part of it! Appointment booked and confirmed with ease! Walking into to HB Collective Salon was so exciting, as all of the positive reviews had me anticipating a heavenly experience! Mission accomplished! Sophie and her colleague were the only two stylists working this day. Both acknowledged me as Sophie wrapped up with her current client. Once in Sophie's chair, I was offered a beverage and snack. I can vouch that the cocktail she offered was top shelf and hit the spot! Once we were down to business, I wanted to set us both up for success, so I shared with her my knowledge of previous color information used on my hair as a starting point. Being that I was there for a root touch up, I told her what I knew and left the rest in her hands. She made some minor changes to the formula and off we went. We had a great conversation as she worked, which she did quickly. Color was on before I knew it! As color was processing, she regularly checked on me and my hair. Then the shampoo experience happened, complete with peppermint scented neck wrap and a fabulous shampoo/scalp massage that nearly left me snoring. Back in her chair after that heavenly experience, I showed her pictures of cuts I was considering. Nothing dramatic, but her opinion was important. She made suggestions and was willing to cut a little at a time to make sure we were going in the direction I was looking for. She nailed it! When she was done styling my hair, it absolutely ROCKED! HB Collective is hands down the best salon around. I personally am a client of Amber for and prior to that Caitlin who is also great. Although I will be speaking to my experience with Amber specifically, the salon as a whole is truly a wonderful and vibrant experience in itself. Amber is absolutely amazing! To the extent that I live in Los Angeles and drive 5+ hours to specifically sit in Amber's chair. She takes her time and always helps me bring ideas to life in the healthiest way for my hair. Whether its something low maintenance because I am traveling or something new I want to try, she always provides the best insight and gives me a head of hair that I actually look forward to styling (which says a lot because I have a lot of hair). Her blending and balayage is amazing and she never ceases to amaze me with what she can create. I call her my favorite magician! They use the best products and my hair always smells amazing for days after leaving the salon. Be sure to keep an eye out for the extra special things they offer too like a monthly drink, warm infused neck towels, little snacks, and even a book exchange. Don't worry if you forget though, the ladies are always amazing at checking if you need anything. The hospitality of this salon is unlike any other to the extent that I remember walking in and feeling so touched that other stylists (especially Jen) took the time to greet me compared to other salons i have been to where no one really talks to you if you arent their client. You can tell and appreciate how much time and effort has gone into making this salon feel like an experience. As someone who travels to come here, the efforts that everyone makes to this salon feel warm does not go unnoticed. I came to Mika needing a major refresh and she absolutely delivered. I was nervous about losing too much length, but I knew I needed all the dead ends gone. Mika really listened, she managed to get my hair healthy and bouncy while keeping the perfect length just past my shoulders. My fingers slide through it with total ease now! I specifically asked for substantial, long wispy bangs that would look great left down even when the rest of my hair is in a clip, and she nailed the execution. She didn't just cut my hair; she took the time to teach me how to curl it myself and recommended products that actually work for my texture. This was my first time at this salon I was referred by a friend to see Brendalina. I asked for a cut and style she didn't disappoint me did everything right. I was complimented at the market on how beautiful my hair was and I referred her also to the salon to see Brendalina as well. I went to HB collective salon today for the first time and my experience was absolutely amazing! They are so welcoming and the space is very cute! Sophie was my stylist and did an amazing job! She had swatches ready to go for me to choose from based on Inspo photos I had sent previously! We had a great conversation and I already booked another appointment with her! The salon itself is amazing! They offer snacks, coffee, tea, water, even do a monthly cocktail of the month that changes, this month it was the "Brendalina's Splashing Watermelon Margarita" and soo delicious with a tajin rim. They also have a great selection of books to read while your processing or even getting hour service ! When they wash you get a scented hot towel , I choose peppermint, and a head massage!!
