I was told I was going to be an "office assistant" and to dress "business casual". Turns out it was a WAREHOUSE job, where no "business casual" attire is required. Secondly, they completely stopped sending me assignments due to miscommunication on THEIR end. Susanne tried to inform me that I never "corresponded to her email" therefore they can no longer place me into a suitable position. I'm very impressed with HB Staffing. I had my concerns after reading Yelp reviews about them, but the Huntington Beach location's team proved me wrong. The hiring/placement process has been smooth and exceptionally positive from the beginning. There's always someone answering the phone. I first started my journey with HB Staffing working alongside Erin Garcia (a recruiter) and I loved her. Always professional, quick in response and alert of everyone's requests. I applied although at the time I had a retail job as a manager that was not fulfilling in hours and lacked in support. She agreed to help me for employment once again, but she kept silent. I've emailed her, but no response. I received an email back for pre interview questions from Lauren which I took the time to answer in detail. Everything started off great. I was sent on an interview at the spur of the moment and the hiring company chose me for the job. Around the same time another company made an offer to me. They were both great opportunities so I really had to think about my decision to ensure I made the right one for me at the time. I let my recruiter at HB know that and she was kind enough to give me a some time. However, when I contacted her to let her know that I took the other offer (with an apology and a thank you) I didn't even get a peep back in response. To me that was extremely unprofessional. A "Thank you for letting me know. Good luck with your new position. Keep us in mind if you need any staffing assistance in the future" would have been the nice and professional thing to say. One day a lady from Hb staffing said to come in we have a job ready for you to interview and take on the assignment. I get there at my appointment time only to find out they had given the job to someone else. I was absolutely pissed bc if there was a different decision made b4 I interviewed why don't they inform me of what happened. The human resources person at the employer told me the truth, not my direct supervisor. It is despicable I was not given any feedback from HB Staffing like it was a big secret. So I Just wanted to point out two things upfront sense people are looking to these reviews for major help in their job search. I have a misdemeanor on my record but it's over 4 years old and non violent or drug related! That out of the way, they said it would be no issue. I went in on a Friday about a job in shipping (I've worked manufacturing for over 2 years) with 2 solid employers. She told me she would get back to me by Tuesday. It's been over a month and I've not gotten a single email, call or any form of communication on what happened with my application / interview. Not to mention I was on their mailing list and after that day I haven't gotten a email lol... Shady people and expect to spend a shit ton of time giving person info on paperwork when you get there. I found a job in shipping paying $2 more an hour full time and not a temp job just by trying a little harder in my search. These people are a waste of time. read more

HB Staffing has been around quite some time. They have placed many people in great jobs in HB and throughout the county. I have found many great assignments through them over the years. Elaine, the Manager, has been with them over 10 years or maybe more and she is warm and wonderful. I have always found the staff to be pleasant and great to work with. One time I lost my paycheck and they replaced it immediately. Other agencies make you wait 7 or more days.They do have high standards and cannot place everybody. My BIL who is a bit of a slacker tried to get work through them and was not successful. He did not have a good resume and he is major job hopper (can't keep a job). If you are a quality candidate with a good resume and attitude, contact them. Some of the Recruiters are new and likely overwhelmed, due to the fast paced job market at this time.
