Within 2 days of them simply getting down my qualifications/info were they able to call ME back (instead of the other way around!!) and offer me a job that fit within my criteria. I should've listened to ALL the bad reviews! This agency is a joke don't waste your time here. They make you go through the whole application process and tell you they will contact your references, I was even told about an open position and 2 weeks later I called for an update and they still had not called or contacted my references. It has been over 2 months and still nothing. I have gotten 3 messages if I was still interested/available for a job and I replied with yes and never got any response back, I messaged them after months with a complaint and finally immediately got a response and I was told they have been contacting me for jobs but I have no record of them trying to reach out. Samantha was very professional and helpful throughout the whole onboarding process. The girls at the front desk were very nice and friendly too when I went in for a skills test. Express is a husband and wife lead team that is helpful, honest, and professional, AND IT WORKS. I emphasize that last point because not all temp agencies are so good. At Express, on the other hand, I was able to work after just one week after my initial visit! The position they got me has been great for me - a wonderful office with great owners, flexible schedule (perfect for school), and only just a mile from where I live - as I had requested (Cindy really came through!). This was my first time using a temp agency and I've really enjoyed my experience with Express. Cindy, Monica, Brianda, and Hannah are all extremely friendly and found me exactly what I was looking for. I was looking to fill a month and a half long employment gap with temp work. I applied online, followed up over the phone, and was promptly given an appointment for the following day with Cindy. When I arrived at the office, I was given a few skill tests and then spoke with Cindy about work experience and what types of assignments I was looking for. I was given a few one day assignments and then after about a week, was assigned a full time position. It was only a week long assignment but was extended for 5 weeks, perfectly filling the gap I had. Their communication is excellent, the Express Employment staff checked up on me each week to make sure everything was still going well and made it very easy to send them my time card. After reading good reviews on this agency, I called yesterday and spoke to Joana. I told her specifically that I am looking to re-enter the work force after a long period of time as a stay at home mom. I told her several times I was looking for part time receptionist/admin work in order to re-establish my skills. Joana told me that would be fine and that Cindy would meet with me today. She asked if I was open to temporary work to develop current references l, and I told her yes as long as it was also less than 30 hours per week. She again said "No problem". When I arrived today, I was pressured into completing their online application before Cindy would speak to me. I told the woman that I wanted to meet with Cindy and discuss my situation first, and then I would have her assistance in how to handle my lack of current references and my large employment gap. The woman refused, and led me into a room where there were computers and told me she would "help me" fill it out. At that point Cindy walked in and offered to meet with me. We sat in the lobby and when I told her what I was looking for, Cindy replied "Oh we don't do any part time job placements or temporary work". So unprofessional! I felt like a piece of meat. I know my email went through, otherwise I'd have received something. I didn't receive a single email. Express is the first temp agency I have used in my 6 years of being out in the work force, and I have been impressed so far in my dealings with them. I didn't give them more stars, because I don't have other agency experience with which to compare them. However, I have been with Express for a month, and I have found them to be very professional, great with communication, and generally invested in ensuring I have positive experiences with my employers. The three ladies I have worked with in the Costa Mesa office all know my name and seem familiar with my file and employment history. My initial employment process with their agency was very well organized and the ladies I interacted with were very helpful and precise in their explanations of the hiring and job placement process. My interview was not just an evaluation of who I was as an employee, but also consisted of many questions designed to fit me into the jobs that I would be interested in working. I felt secure knowing that Express expects professionalism and safe working practices both from their employees and the employers with whom they work. In about three weeks of working with them, I have worked about a week and a half (64hrs) in a full time position that I decided was too much of a commitment for my current situation, and have also put in about 20hrs in a job that provides about 16hrs of work a week. This level of work makes sense for me right now, and I found Express to be very receptive to my specific needs as an employee. They've sent me a couple messages to check up on me at work, helped mediate between myself and my employers, and let me know when my paycheck is ready to be picked up at the office.
