A few things to know before you go: Because this is at a private residential home, there are no public bathrooms available, so plan accordingly! It's also a bit out of the way on a dirt road, which adds to the rustic charm but can be a surprise if you aren't expecting it. It's a wonderful, low-key way to spend 30 minutes with some very happy animals. Donations are highly encouraged but not required.

She was rude to several guests, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Most of our party parked in the overflow parking lot, which is clearly marked with multiple signs. However, during the event, the employee walked over and padlocked both gates, preventing anyone from accessing their vehicles. We were told to reach out when we were ready to leave so she could unlock the gates. When the party ended, I texted her as instructed, but she refused to open the gates. She claimed no such arrangement had been made and told us we would have to walk all the way to the front entrance and then back to our vehicles, instead of simply unlocking the gates. This situation was frustrating and unnecessary, especially after being given different instructions earlier. While the location itself is nice, the lack of professionalism and poor communication significantly impacted our overall experience.

When I reached out about a partial refund and offered to return the roosters, this is the response I got: No, actually, that only means it's not 100% accurate. Our policy is listed on our website. We do not guarantee, refund, return, swap, or exchange. This is an extremely standard policy across the board for any Hatchery or place of business that sells chicks. If you have a rooster you can give it away for free on Craigslist. Next time go ahead and shop at tractor supply. Buy your chicks from there and when you get a rooster try to call them and make them take it back and see what happens. I waited for a short while, realizing they were busy, but I felt like I was more of an inconvenience than a valued customer. It didn't have a friendly atmosphere. While I'm not suggesting that the staff were unfriendly, the overall vibe was lacking warmth. The animals were fun to observe, and that rooster was pretty cool. However, I wish the store offered better training for its employees. Given that I drove five hours to visit this location, I don't think I will be returning. I will be looking for another store to visit.
