Making the reservation was very simple. I called in and made the reservation over the phone. They send you an email reminder and two text reminders leading up to your reservation. Upon arrival and paying the $7 parking fee, drive to the horse staging area. You'll meet the horses and complete payment there. This experience was very fun. They have other types of riding experiences as well on their website. Remember to support your local businesses!

The owner and tour guide Matt was warm, genuine, knowledgeable and personable. He made everyone feel at ease and comfortable. The horses each had their own personality and were gorgeous. He told us details about each one we were riding. He says he tries to pair their personalities w each rider he meets and I think he nailed it! I have never been to SanTan Mountain Regional Park before but definitely want to come back as it was absolutely stunning landscape and great hiking trails. Many friendly hikers said hi to us on our horses. The park has a very friendly vibe. MD Ranch was such a great experience. Thank you Matt and team for raising such wonderful horses and hosting us for such a memorable experience. I hadn't ridden a horse in 20 years and this was my daughter's first ride ever! You guys rock.

The whole reason we did this for her birthday is because my daughter is a strong believer in unicorns and absolutely loves them. Upon arriving the kids immediately noticed the "unicorn" and his horn was lopsided, falling off of his head. My daughter went up to the employee and told her that the horn was falling off. Later she told me that it broke her heart it wasn't a real unicorn. If you have a group coming specifically for a unicorn encounter that unicorn should be ready and looking magical as can be for their arrival. Additionally, the second reason we chose this experience was because the website said you would get to hold bunnies. My daughter loves bunnies and told me all leading up to the party that she couldn't wait to hold a bunny. The employee did NOT let the girls hold bunnies at all, she only let them pet the bunny. It also said they would feed alpacas, sheep, and goats. They didn't have the girls feed any animals at all. In fact no one was guiding through the process at all aside from a lady taking the girls in a circle twice on the pony. Then she disappeared for a long time until she finally came back out and brought out one bunny for them to pet. The AC was not turned on in the castle until we were about to leave and it was 2:30 in the afternoon so almost 100 degrees outside. Overall very disappointed and would not recommend going here. We paid $125 for the kids to basically run around a farm for an hour in 100 degrees. The reviews had been so great saying they make it a magical experience and sadly the magic was exactly what we were missing today.

Leading up to the party, Christy was incredibly responsive and patient, answering all of my questions via email and even giving us a tour of the venue ahead of time. The space was absolutely perfect for our princess unicorn theme. During the party, Rebecca and DJ were so kind, patient, and attentive with all 15 kids, allowing them to ride the ponies multiple times, helping with photos while riding, and bringing out the hare and baby goat for petting--which the kids absolutely loved. All of the animals, including the miniature horses, donkey, sheep, alpaca, chickens, geese, and ducks, were very friendly and tolerant with the children. It was obvious how well cared for and loved the animals are. DJ even went above and beyond by helping my husband lift a heavy cooler full of drinks during setup, which was greatly appreciated. The party setup looked beautiful, and everyone--kids and parents alike--had an amazing time. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Charming Pony Parties to anyone looking for a truly special and memorable celebration!

THEY HAVE MOUNTING BLOCKS!…read more We were referred here after a bad experience at OK Corral Stables. Everyone we met at Don Donnelly were friendly and accommodating as I needed a mounting block and a little support to get on the horse. Shelly was very sweet and the place felt relaxed and fun (instead of the unfriendly people at the other place). My grandson and I were supposed to have to wait an hour for our ride but when we got there she'd arranged for a wrangler to take us right away. Our wrangler, Lexi, was so friendly and nice and very accommodating. We had one of the most beautiful rides we've ever been on with nice, well trained horses. When we got back, Lexi said that it's often harder for us grandmas with hip problems to get off the horse than on and assured me that I'd have help. I got off the horse with help and even had a man pleasantly and kindly help me down the steps. As bad as our experience at the other place was, this place was 1000 times better, not just because they had mounting blocks to help get on the horse, but because they understood that this is supposed to be a pleasant experience. Thanks, Lexi and Shelly! We'll see you again :)

Her mom decided not to play, but we still paid $30 for her to ride along. The green fee to play was $35, and it was a ghost town.. typical for AZ summer when it's 105*. A few days later I got an email indicating i was being charged by golfnow for a "no show fee" .. $35 + tax. These guys charged me because my mother in law didn't play, she spectated. If this happened in winter when the tee sheet is full I'd understand they'd want a paying customer in that slot on the tee sheet. But there was nobody to fill the spot, we wouldn't want someone to fill the spot anyway, and we paid $30 for her to sit in the cart. Not to mention I bought hot dogs at the turn, (nasty and cold) paid $7 for about 12 range balls and gave the cart kid a $5 bill at the end of the round. I emailed some guy named Seth and he couldn't care less- he felt it was justified to charge the extra fee. They basically got 5 greens fees from my group of 4 and it was shameless. I'll never ever come back.

On this day, temperatures hit the low 90's, yet we saw the beverage cart twice. Once on the front, and once on the back. Both times too early in the round. The area to buy refreshments between 9 and 10 didn't have anyone in it to sell refreshments. There were hamburgers being made, but apparently those weren't for golfers. The round took 4.5 hours to complete. Where were the rangers that I've heard so many people complaining about? Your course, like so many others in the Phoenix area is expecting golfers to continue to pay high prices for the privilege of playing something that is worth at most, half the price. I won't be one of them.
