Carl's Damaged Pet Warehouse is such a unique experience in Gilbert. It's a private rescue farm where you can get up close to Highland cows, donkeys, pigs, and the cutest rescue pup I've ever seen. I don't know who Carl is but he is quite generous to share his property with the public--he even provides buckets of carrots and pellets to feed the animals and a sink with soap and water to wash your hands. A few things to know before you go: Because this is at a private residential home, there are no public bathrooms available, so plan accordingly! It's also a bit out of the way on a dirt road, which adds to the rustic charm but can be a surprise if you aren't expecting it. It's a wonderful, low-key way to spend 30 minutes with some very happy animals. Donations are highly encouraged but not required.

I loved visiting Carl's Damaged Pets when I lived in Gilbert. This is a private residence that has a rescue farm in their backyard. Carl is amazing to share it with the community for free, but accepts donations (I highly encourage donating to help support costs of the food and caring for the animals). Each animal is so special here. I especially enjoyed the highland cows and the donkey. Swing on by if you're in the area and enjoy these providing some food to these rescue animals!

I enjoyed stopping by this farm. The animals are well take care of and sure do eat pretty well. You are allowed to bring in food to feed them and they have a sign up of what you can not feed them. So nice this is available to the public!

I visited this place twice over the weekend, and it turned out to be exactly what my heart needed. I recently lost one of my closest friends, and I've been trying to find anything that helps me feel grounded again. Spending time here just feeding the donkeys, goats, and cows was genuinely therapeutic. We brought romaine lettuce, apples (their absolute favorite, no question), carrots, and celery. Watching them get excited over the apples honestly made me smile for the first time in a while. Even the simple sounds the little kicks on the gate, the snorts, the eager munching brought me down to earth. I took my partner with me, too, and seeing him laughing and feeding the animals made the whole experience even better. This place is calm, welcoming, and clearly run with real care. If you need a reset, some comfort, or just want to see animals lose their minds over apples, this place is a gem. Solid five stars. Thank you!

Free fun animal rescue!! I came here with my sister and stopped by the store and bought carrots, zucchini and lettuce. The animals loved them and it was so much fun to feed them. I would recommend coming here if you're an animal lover.

A visit to Carl's Damaged Pet Warehouse is an amazing way to spend your day! We spent over 2 hours here on a Saturday morning and could have stayed longer if it hadn't gotten so warm. We bought $45 worth of fruits and veggies at the grocery store before coming, and we may have overdone it, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. There is a list of preferred foods (see photos) for you to bring and since I fancy myself a professional now, let me tell you what the animals like in my experience. The cows loved our watermelons! They also took other melons and pumpkin as well as zucchini and bell peppers. In true goat fashion, the goats ate everything except celery and apple. As a matter of fact, The only ones who would eat our celery were the donkeys and none of the animals wanted the apples, which I was shocked about. Maybe They were too sour or I bought the wrong kind. Even the horses declined the apples, but they could not get enough of our carrots. The turtle enjoyed lettuce and tomatoes and the pigs really liked the fresh lettuce but not much else made it to the poor guys because everyone else would snatch it up as soon as it hit the ground. If you can only get a few things, carrots and zucchini were probably the best all-around options. I hope that helps. But, if you don't have any groceries or the means to purchase them, you won't be left out. There is a box where people can leave extra groceries (like we did) and lots of children eagerly grabbed up everything that we left to feed to the animals. There is also a box for donations and we made sure to put something in there as well. This is a totally free attraction that is provided by the kindness of one person. Anyone can come at any time and meet these adorable animals. There had to have been at least 50 people here during the time we spent, maybe more. You can come and feed the animals or just show them some love. I highly encourage any and everyone to visit. Time spent here is good for the soul; it definitely was for mine!

Very fun! Thank you, Carl, for allowing the public to enjoy seeing your cute animals - it was such a great experience. It's very much like a small petting zoo, where you can get up close with the animals and interact with them. Be sure to bring fruits and vegetables. There were a lot of animals, including cows, donkeys, pigs, a tortoise, goats, and more. If you search online, it shows what you can and cannot feed the animals, which is helpful. The animals really seemed to love the carrots! Parking was easy, and the whole visit felt relaxed and family-friendly.

Come on over and enjoy a free feeding and petting zoo. BYOB fruits/veggies. I personally recommend at Superstition Ranch Market where the produce is cheaper then most places. You can pet the animals and feed them. Tortoises, bulls, goats, donkey, turkeys and chickens is what we saw. So awesome. Thank you Carl for allowing the public to help love on these guys.

Easy to find, cute little stand, I followed other reviews and went to the farmers market and got cheap goods (both for the animals and snacks for back on the road) a little too hot for a lot of the animals to come to the fence but what are you gonna do, made for a cheap quick part of date day

I took my 3 year old grandson here, and for a quick 20 minute drive and the attention span of a 3 year old, the price of admission was perfect. (free) We brought a bag of carrots, which wasn't really enough for the amount of animals here. For being "damaged" one thing that isn't is their appetite. Some others brought lettuce and peppers. The sign there says no grapes, raisins or garlic. (Why you would give garlic to a farm animal that already has stinky breath is beyond me) Anyway, if you're looking for a quick little free fun experience for your kids, this is probably the place. There's also a donation box if you're feeling generous. Next time we come back, we'll bring more food.

My son loves coming here to feed the goats. He's not too sure about the big cow yet but we all enjoy it. They look so happy sun bathing in the mornings.

So awesome!! Carl was so nice and gave us a bucket of food to give to the animals! This was an amazing experience and a beautiful property!

This place is something free and fun to do with the kids! The animals are friendly and it's nice location where you don't have to worry about cars. It's a self-guided petting farm and you need to brung your own food for the animals. They do have a small donation box towards the shaded back patio. I recommend donating to keep this free activity going! My daughter loved the interaction with the animals! Would definitely return :)

She was rude to several guests, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Most of our party parked in the overflow parking lot, which is clearly marked with multiple signs. However, during the event, the employee walked over and padlocked both gates, preventing anyone from accessing their vehicles. We were told to reach out when we were ready to leave so she could unlock the gates. When the party ended, I texted her as instructed, but she refused to open the gates. She claimed no such arrangement had been made and told us we would have to walk all the way to the front entrance and then back to our vehicles, instead of simply unlocking the gates. This situation was frustrating and unnecessary, especially after being given different instructions earlier. While the location itself is nice, the lack of professionalism and poor communication significantly impacted our overall experience.
