The bill wasn't extreamly high either and we're going to do a payment plan eventually to pay for it. They have treated me kindly and they found whatever was causing the issue today every time. The doctors take great care and speedy check in. The CAT scan people now know me. It's been an interesting year. But yes kind kind staff members and advent health is my favorite because it's a Christian hospital. They also pray for you and have used their prayer and had it help. You don't have to pay the bill right away they will allow you to wait. Kind doctors.

I spent two nights at Adventhealth prior to my delivery and all the staff were personable and caring. During my stay while giving birth I was there for 3 nights. The staff were wonderful again and kept me well informed of what was going on. I felt very in control of what was happening and that it was my choice as to what path was taken for my childs birth. I ended up having a beautiful baby boy via c-section and he was delivered by the on-call doctor, not a doctor from my OB. The on call doctor put me at ease (bc i was a little freaked out!) and I felt safe in her care. The food was decent, some meals better than others and you get a daily smoothie which was a nice surprise! In the area of the hospital that I was in there was a little cafe type area that had a vending machine and some other small bites for free. It was a thoughtful touch for friends and family who were visiting to meet our new baby. Everyone thinks that Winnie Palmer is THE place to have your baby, but I personally think Advent Winter Park is really the place to be. ;)

This is entirely about the Insurance Billing department. Full disclosure: I came into the hospital…read morefor elective PREPAY (over $16K) cosmetic surgery and was set to have surgery and go home same day. I signed a paper that said if my insurance company doesn't pay for my hernia repair then I would have to pay $345 also there is a $650 charge if as a prepay patient I have to stay overnight. Ok... I wake up to find out I did NOT go home but instead the HOSPITAL OVERSOSED ME with too much medicine and they decided I should stay for their over-sedation mistake. I even had a hospital representative come ask me for the $200 balance owed as I was trying to recover. Anyway, I went home and less than 3 weeks later I see that my insurance was billed for my stay and they paid over $40K. WHAT what what?????!!! AND the hospital is billing ME the deductible coinsurance of $2650... I never sued them, I just want my money back and them to cover their mistake and write off the $2650. I have waited patiently for 60 days or 2 full months while my account from May 28th is under review from their insurance department. Only to find out today that NEVER happened and the supervisors are saying according to their notes the charges are valid. You make a $40000. mistake that would have only cost me $650 of which because it was YOUR mistake I would not have had to pay anyway? One supervisor told me that once they billed the insurance company and got paid my self pay status of getting a discount was null. If that's the case do what the anesthesiologist did and REFUND my money!!! What a racket and terrible business practice this hospital is running. Now I will wait another 45 days while you keep collecting countless insurance payments and never calling me back with the status. Stay away if you need your money and have a choice to go elsewhere. I feel VERY very cheated even though the doctor took responsibility, the hospital thinks it's okay to do wrong and make the patient keep paying! Ridiculous....

The staff was extremely attentive to my every need, they listened to me and my husband, and they respected us. My baby was treated with so much care and they were always willing to answer every single question we had. During my postpartum stay, every nurse I had was awesome. I was nervous about my concerns being dismissed, but I experienced just the opposite. I highly recommend this hospital!

I brought my mother to the ER as she was experiencing Afib. She has a pacemaker and I thought:"…read moreWell they have a vascular center, this is probably a good option to get her checked out." but it turns out that unless you're literally at deaths door, you're not going to get seen anytime soon. They took a reading of her pace maker and we waited, and waited for cardiology to get back to her. Turns out the Nurse had done it incorrectly and they needed to do it again and that had already taken close to 5 hours. Also, they had no rooms available, so she was being tended to in a hallway along with a bunch of other people. We were all huddled so close together that we all knew what the person nearby had. The older woman next to us was having severe back issues and pain. The lady in front of her hit her head in an accident and they were asking her questions to determine I guess whether she was concussed or not. "What year is it?" "Who is the current president?" "What is your name". It reminded me of when we had to take refuge at a hurricane shelter and were all huddled together on cots in a hallway. We arrived at around 2:45pm and ended up finally leaving at 2:00a.m and by the time I left the hospital, I was a zombie. I hadn't eaten, the fluorescent lighting had my migraines acting up and quite honestly, I shouldn't have been driving from how tired I was. At the end of the day, they never gave my mom anything for her afib and it went away on it's own and they were like: "Well her heart reading is fine, she's fine, she just needs to make sure she stays hydrated, that's all." Only God in heaven gave me patience to not strangle anyone that day.

They would also contradict each other causing a lot of confusion. Anesthesiologist punctured my wife's spine and blamed her...another had to come and finish. What took the first provider five pokes in 30 minutes took the next one about 90 seconds. Clearly operator error. Very unprofessional. Due to this my wife had to have another procedure after giving birth to twins...he had severe back pain, was leaking spinal fluid and was have headache so debilitating she couldn't even get up to use the restroom. None of this is related to giving birth... all of it was related to the epidural and due to the incompetence of anesthesiologist. The only good doctor we experienced was the one who delivered our twins. She kept checking in with us, communicated a plan with us and was very positive. We were there for 5 days and only saw a doctor when we requested one about 2 hours before you were discharged. no one can answer our questions... The nurse has tried their best, but weren't getting much answers from the doctors above them. Again, shout out to the delivery unit, nursing staff, lead nurses, charge nurses and entire nicu staff. Oh! The food staff and cleaning staff was also very nice and did their job well. Doctors? 2/10 We considering contacting an attorney.

First, it is so cold in the maternity area that I had to get blankets to keep myself warm, as well as my son in law who was also freezing. My daughter was covered and she was cold, even being in labor! Secondly, when it was time for the baby to be born, the nurse told my daughter she would have to wait as the doctor was delivering another baby.....what???....another nurse grabbed the house phone and said that unless a doctor came to my daughter's room immediately, the nurse was going to deliver the baby. Two doctors showed up rather quickly. My grand daughter made her entrance into the world! The nurses were fantastic, patient, and spent a lot of time explaining what was going on with my daughter's labor. The hospital is clean and well maintained. Food was just okay. Breast feeding support seemed to be good. There was a lag in time when my daughter and her husband were told a room would be ready in the NICU (baby needed some blood work follow-up) would be ready in an hour. It took several hours. They were exhausted as my daughter had been in labor for quite some time and just wanted to get settled so they could rest a bit before bringing the baby home. Anyway, the little family is fine!

It's Sunday and she's been here without her HEART medicine and without a doctor that can care for her for days. this is the third incident where this facility seems understaffed and or the staff seems disengaged until they realize it's serious... originally I was going to complain about how uncomfortable the fold out bed was, how none of the chargers worked or went to phones from this decade, or how there was no microwave or fridge for me to store my food in, or how when we first got here there a a " respiratory risk" for my sister and the sign on her door said we should be wearing masks / gowns and yet I had to go find someone to get me a mask before entering and once I was inside there was my nephew visiting his mom, maskless... The communication has been absolute worst between staff and us. I had to OVERHEAR her dietary restrictions between changing crew, although ppl saw me bringing her food. and then I was told I couldn't heat the food I brought us in the microwave bc of said risk... but it wasn't serious enough to follow the mask protocol... and she was here for her HEART not her lungs... The cafeteria is the absolute worst I've ever seen and yeah, I wish I'd trusted my gut and driven her to winter park or ORMC. I have never had a good experience at this place. please don't bring your loved ones here if it's serious ****update Still no echocardiogram. And the hospital is under a code red. No communication on how soon we can expect one, how many more days she'll be here ... AND they forgot to feed her this morning. Again the diagnosis was congestive heart failure and her RESTING HEART RATE is 167-175!!!! I'm begging them, if you don't have the staff/ ability to treat her just say that so we can go elsewhere. I'm literally packing up to head to Winnie Palmer now fingers crossed they're able to see her as quickly as they were my partner who I also had to pull out of advent health SOUTH and head to Winnie Palmer where they promptly saw and treated her . Update 10:28 am Sunday Someone, idk who this time, walked in, didn't introduce themselves say why they were there or anything and just rolled a machine in an said Amanda our nurse who has been very helpful would be in shortly.... This is a review of the administration of the hospital and how they are severely understaffed and undertrained on bedside manner and at least a SENSE of perceived urgency. That last part is nonexistent
