Roland and an assistant came out to trim two clusters of oaks in my front and back yards. Standard stuff like raising up the canopy a bit, trimming away from the house and sidewalk, and thinning out the new growth. What a great process from start to finish! Sent an email for a quote, they came out the next day (even though it was a weekend) and provided one. I took a few hours to check with a friend of ours to see if it was reasonable as he does tree trimming....even my friend couldn't beat their prices. Once we settled on the price and told him, they were there same day! All trees removed and trimmed. Came home and couldn't believe the difference. They even cleaned up all the branches and you couldn't even tell they were there other than good looking trees. Even recommended someone for stump removal when we replant this fall, but left it so you can't tell there's anything there. Have a baby shower this Sunday and needed to spruce up our front and back yard. We have a very old (over 25 yrs) Bradford Pear that was looking pretty sad. It was huge and the branch were so long they were bent over and the ends of them were head high or lower. Our power line runs through the branches and some of the branches hung over the roof. I knew it was just a wind storm away from dropping a branch and doing some real damage. I called Hill Country Tree Trimming and Roland came out the same day to take a look. He gave me a bid on that tree on the spot and it was so reasonable that I had him look at a couple of other trees that needed a little work. He also said they could probably be out the next day to do the work. They came late morning the next day and knocked it all out in 2 or 3 hours, including cleaning up all the debris. Hill Country Tree Trimming caught my eye while working at a nearby neighbor on Highland Hills Drive. When the job was done, the neighbor was satisfied and his trees looked nice. I called Roland and he came by quickly to give me an estimate. Not only did he offer a very competitive price, but he also had some great questions and suggestions. He took plenty of time to listen and ask questions to learn what I wanted - the privacy of my back yard was not compromised but my trees look great. He and his crew removed ball moss, dead limbs and new growth on my oaks and removed several large trash trees from the yard, some in tricky locations near wires and fences. They treated all the fresh wounds on the trees and sterilized their tools before and after the job. The work was completed start to finish in the same day. Roland did not request payment until all work was complete and he walked me through the job to be sure I was satisfied. He and his crew did a great job cleaning up the debris and stacking it for the city. His crew did a fabulous job. I was very impressed with the quality of work and attention to detail. This is as much a positive review for Roland and his crew as it is a negative review for everyone else. I needed to have our elms and oaks trimmed over the house and driveway. I got four estimates. Two were about the same price. The other two were three times the cost of the lower estimates. Okay, not going with either of them. Of the two lower cost quotes I was originally going to pick the other company (not Hill Country) because I thought the guy took more time to explain things than Roland had. However I was a little concerned that there were only a couple of Yelp reviews on the company dating back a few months. The other concern I had was that the guy who came out to give me the quote played the game of starting with a high price, then telling me that there were other people in our neighborhood that they would be servicing at the same time so he could give me a reduced price. After several other "discounts" he eventually quoted me a price that was nearly half the original. Roland did not play these games and was straight with me on the price. What flipped me to Hill Country was that I google searched the other guy's name and found a bunch of negative Yelp reviews from his previous company as recently as last year. Hill Country did a great job, and when I called to tell Roland that there were some limbs I thought we had agreed on, he had his crew come out to get them taken care of. Roland and his team came to my house last weekend on very short notice to trim 7 large trees on my property. He gave me a detailed estimate before any work started and an assessment of the tree's conditions. His crew spent about 5 hours total working. They took all of the brush away and left everything looking great - they even blew away a big pile of leaves around one of the trees that the yard people had neglected. I would highly recommend this company as I received great service at a reasonable price. Only negative is they don't accept credit cards (which is probably not unusual), so just be sure to have a check available. read more

Need to have our nine trees trimmed. It has been over 18 months from its last facelift. Called numerous companies where I accepted three to quote for services of our trees. Ron and John came in reviewed the services required and submitted a quote. All three quotes were within range and one little higher than both. The main driver was there approach and body language was very professional and humble. Positive aura portrayed by them making one feel very comfortable. The other services where one was the owner but it appears he has his crew, the other does their work but bit pricey and little confusing. Why I selected Hill Country Tree Trimming? Roland and his crew came in uniforms, were knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and their price was reasonable.They came to my house in Central Austin to trim 4 older tall Pecan trees and one Cedar Elm. Very pleased with the job they did trimming the trees. One Pecan tree had a large broken limb that was pretty high up there and they had no problem taking it down. After they finished the yard was so clean you couldn't tell they were ever there, they even hauled away some extra limbs I had trimmed from shrubs a few days prior at no extra cost. I needed 6 cedar trees removed and 12 oaks trimmed. I called Roland and he responded immediately and came out the same day to give me an estimate. The estimate was very fair and I told him I wanted it done as soon as possible. He and his crew came out the next day and completed the job.
