After reading this on…read moreAppalachian Blind and Closet's (AB&C's) website, I thought I'd found the answer: "WE CAN REPAIR ALMOST ANY WINDOW COVERING Do you have a problem with your blinds or shades? When it comes to window treatments, Appalachian Blind and Closet Co can fix almost any issue. Count on our experienced staff to repair your blinds and shades quickly and professionally - whether you purchased them from us or from another business." Sounds good, right? I thought so too. But here's how it really works. Just because they CAN repair almost any window covering doesn't mean they WILL. I drove 50 miles from my house to FOSCOE (about 8 miles past "Boone" proper) with my broken Levelors, only to be told by an AB&C sales person that THEY ONLY REPAIR HUNTER DOUGLAS. Really? Then why does your website say just opposite? Maybe since I was already at the store anyway, I was supposed to turn in my "unrepairable" Levolors and buy some new Hunter Douglas from them. After being tricked into coming all that way for a repair service they don't even offer? Not on your life.

They were, however, the most professional by far! They were extremely patient with us while working to understand our needs and never tried to upsell or steer into anything that we didn't want. Since it's a nice chunk of change, we had them come out a few times to make sure we were selecting the correct color and style for our home. Each time they were patient and answered any questions we came up with, even those that we'd asked more than once. While Budget Blinds wasn't the cheapest quote that we received, they were able to offer a discount to lower their rates, which was much appreciated. The warranty that they offer is nearly impossible to beat and certainly worth any additional cost that we paid. Once ordered the blinds came in just when they quoted. They scheduled a two hour delivery, but had all 12 windows installed and gave a tutorial in less than an hour and a half. They installers were knowledgeable and super quick. We are in love with our new blinds! They are exactly what we wanted and look even better than we anticipated.

Custom window treatments are a big investment, so I was nervous moving forward without personally knowing someone who had utilized this company. Different franchises have mixed reviews, but we worked with Brad Gerrish's group and are beyond happy with our plantation shutters. Brad came to our house personally for a free consultation, and brought examples of trims, colors, and styles. We were pleasantly surprised by the price. His installation crew was very polite and professional. I included a picture of the business card in addition to my before and after pictures. Hopefully this will help others navigate the different Knoxville locations when researching reviews. I highly recommend this Budget Blinds franchise!
