I called the Office to have a designer come out, and help me with my project. They sent out Cole Murray. He called me, and made an appointment with me. I totally spaced the appointment. He called me, and waited on me for an hour. Cole Has the most patience from anybody I have ever met. Cole brought out numerous amount of samples. And laid them all out for me so I can see what it would look like when it was done. He walked me through my Pavers and my block wall every day answering every stupid question I had. And never complained. I know I can be a pain in the butt because if I don't know what's going on or how it's being built I ask 1 million questions. The job came out beautiful. Ismael, the 'superintendent' came to my house to design a new front yard for me on Tuesday, 2/16/21 and told me he'd provide ideas and a cost estimate within a few days. I didn't hear back from him so I sent him a text message on Monday, 2/22/21 and he said he'd have everything ready the same week. I did not hear back from Ismael so I sent another text on Monday, 3/01/21 and he said he would have the design and estimate by Wednesday, 3/03/21. I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM. Not even the courtesy of a call or text. Very poor customer service. read more

I LOVE my new backyard! From the moment I met the Doug, I knew we were going to create something spectacular together. I personally had a very good experience with Doug, he listened well and was responsive to every call I made to him. I appreciated him stopping by and periodically checking on the job and making sure I was happy and if something needed to be addressed or changed he took care of it. I appreciated working with several of his team members; Angel helping me to decide on plant selection and placement, Albert assisting on garden arch design and Mike's great ideas and ability to source just the right materials to finalize my dream backyard! As with any project, I highly recommend that you have a detailed project plan and timeline in place. I've used this landscaping service for about 6 years now. Doug is charismatic and I really wanted to entrust him with my yard/garden. Things started out OK... but slowly my yard went WAY south over the years. The company raised my monthly service fee by approx. 40% one day... not over time... saying that they are losing money on me or something similar. The service just went down hill after approx 1 year... or maybe my yard/garden just began showing the affects after that amount of time. Last year, I lost 3 of my beloved and beautiful white birch trees. They laid on the ground and on against my guest house for weeks until I finally asked the weekly gardeners "are you going to address the dead trees in my yard?" Hmmm.... The office actually blamed me and my poor irrigation system.... which was supposed to be fixed by THEM for nearly a year... They also failed to remember that I gave them carte blanche to install a brand new drip irrigation system years earlier... cost was no concern. What they installed insufficiently watered the tree areas... among others. That is JUST the start of it. I have never seen them turn the soil or feed/fertilize the grass/plants. My dirt is like cement and little by little, everything is dying. After several years, I had to remind them that I actually own the plants and tree running along the right side of my property... as those plants had never been tended to and the area was a mess. Again, it appears as if my entire back yard (grass/roses/various plants/trees) little by little is dying. Their solution? Stop over and over to renovate the entire FRONT yard. Pull perfectly healthy plants out of the front yard and throw them in the back yard in a pile to die. They claim they were going to "repurpose" them.... but when they all realized that they never discussed a budget with me.... they sent me a bill for the front yard and sheepishly disappeared... leaving my plants and bushes just lying to die, unplanted, in the back yard. I don't blame the 2 guys that come every week. They are good, sincere guys and they are ALWAYS calling the office to report any issues with my plants, soil, irrigation, etc etc. They seem to never get a straight answer or are told that someone will be over later that day to inspect the situation. Never happens. Never is followed up on. I suppose this may be a good company for a small, uncomplicated yard. However, if you cherish your mature plants/trees/bushes, you require attention to any detail and you don't want to pay top dollar for low-end service... this is not the landscape company for you. read more

Within 5 minutes of meeting Doug you'll believe you're talking to the right guy. Not only is he friendly and kind, his knowledge of the landscaping industry, plants, hardscapes, drainage, design, aesthetics, etc is indicative of his 20+ years in the business. He was great at listening to our ideas, providing suggestions, and providing a design and estimate at no cost. Doug and his crew have completed about 2/3rd of this $65,000 hardscape and softscape project and I cannot express how IMPRESSED I am with the attention to detail and level of quality with his work. When I spend this kind of money, I tend to scrutinize every detail but I'm having a hard time finding issues. I cannot wait to see the finished project and will be sharing pictures once completed. I have no doubt my guests will be as wowed as I am. I also need to commend Doug and his foremen for delivering results and progress on a strict timeline and in line with the expectations set. At times I believe I counted 9 guys working at any given time, not one of them slacking. Each day they started at 7am and I'd start to see the workers parked on my street as early as 6:40, just waiting for the noise curfew to lift so they could begin sharply on time. I got a second quote from Scarlett Landscaping which came in at about 25% higher and they were not able to start for many weeks out. read more

They came out for a quote, acted all interested in my project, promised to show up the next day to measure and never called back, just disappeared. I guess they assumed people from South Mexnard aren't able to afford them. Not nice, Halter, NOT NICE! At least have the decency to tell me you don't want my business. read more

Doug and his group of guys did an amazing job on my complete landscaping job. He was honest, kept us informed of the progress. He did complete hardscape and landscape and completed within the time he promised. Doug gave us really good ideas, and we accepted and are very happy. I would 100% recommend Doug to anyone wanting a quality job. He went out of his way to help the design, drew the plans and got the permits in a very quick time. I feel that my yard must have been a very small job for them thus the lack of much customer service. The workers were extremely courteous and very hard working which was a plus. However, they would show up completely unannounced in the morning and begin without me being able to put in my requests or thoughts. I had to constantly call to ask about sprinkler coverage, etc. and certain plant placements and no one ever followed up with me to see that everything met my approval and was in working order. Now I have plants that are dying or about to and it has been a week since my initial call and I haven't heard from anyone! read more

Terrible communication skills and really terrible work. I had to hassle them to get the final estimate done. Then they left stuff out I asked them to do. The guy who does the estimate and the person organizing in the office obviously don't communicate. Had them do some of the work and they butchered my plants. Got several estimates for the work I did not have them do and all estimates were less than they quoted. Just generally a bad experience. read more

Scheduled an appointment a couple of days ago for a quote on landscaping work and they never showed up, no phone call....nothing.

I regret using this company to landscape my entire outdoors. The wrong trees were planted & had to be removed after several years, sprinkling system must have been the cheapest materials available since it had to be replaced along with sprinkler heads after two years. Plants died & were not replaced after a few months. Hardscape cracked & drainage was inadequate to the point that my back yard flooded rain water into my kitchen ruining wooden doors. Recommend this company to your worst enemy. Go to their big parties, eat their food & drink their booze because you'll be so sorry you hired them to make you crazy. The excuses Doug comes up with as to why he doesn't return calls or finishing your project will cause nightmares long after & when it all breaks down, forget that he will back up his shoddy work. He personality becomes not so nice when confronted.....His word means nothing & his need for accolades is insatiable. Get every detail & brand of product to be used & deadline date in writing. He does not return calls for 2 weeks, appoligizes profusely, makes promises he'll start in 2 weeks, which Leeds to more promises. 8 weeks later more excuses. Never have I had such an atrocious gardening experience. We have put over a year of hard work into our lovely garden. For some reason they decided to chop back the entire thing to almost nothing. They called it "trimming." It was full of such life and they destroyed it. It will take over a year and thousands of dollars to repair the damage they caused. read more
