G & R were not quite the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive but we had a good feeling about the quality of their work and reviews. When you have an electrical problem you don't hire a plumber so when we wanted extensive pavers and concrete work we felt it was important to hire licensed concrete contractors like Gabriel and his family who were all very polite, experienced and perfectionist to do our driveway pavers, gate columns, retaining wall as well as our rear patio pavers. They took their time to insure a quality installation and when we found an area that was a bit low they insisted on having the crew come back and make it right. In fact they corrected things that we didn't even notice with the crew. They built our retaining wall to code, filled the cells and water proofed the backside. They were so good we even had them stucco our large garden wall, two coats scratch coat and finished color coat. The finished product was absolutely beautiful and the designs were exactly what I had requested. I highly recommend G. R. concrete and pavers for any concrete job, stucco, pavers and the like. I had a really great experience from start to finish working with Ruiz Masonry & Concrete. Gabriel Ruiz and his crew took on a very large concrete job at our home that was literally on all sides of the house. The job involved extensive demo of existing concrete and brick work all around the home. They laid new concrete to form multiple sidewalks, front entry way landing, 2 patio areas, a full side yard, and multiple drains were placed. Furthermore, we have an HOA that required color matching existing cement at the front of the home. We were fortunate in that we found an excellent match in color. I actually had another quote that came in a little lower than Ruiz Masonry & Concrete, but I ended up going with Gabriel based off of my interactions with him, as well as their strong online reviews and lots of photos that were posted online. I couldn't be happier with my decision. Gabriel stuck to the time frame and cost as laid out in his initial quote. He was there everyday, regularly working hard with his team to get the job done. My mom's driveway in Camarillo was buckled by the roots of a big tree, and became a huge safety hazard. I got quotes from several people and asked neighbors what they had spent on similar projects (someone with a similar house spent an insane amount of money on pavers) and Gabriel beat them all. Gabriel Ruiz recently installed a backyard patio and accompanying walkways at my residence. He stamped the concrete, made a 1' smooth border around the perimeter, and the created diagonal expansion joints inside the border to create the illusion of having five foot squares set on a diagonal. Not an easy job, but he pulled it off with perfection. Perhaps most impressive was his attention to detail and unwillingness to cut corners. I had two other contractors tell me I did not need drains. Gabriel took one look at the project site and explained that I needed three drains. He then explained that he could not put them in the center of the patio due to the height of the existing concrete that surrounded the patio area.
