But during my work endeavors I came across GPM / General Pavement Management. I retained them on behalf of my employer for a small scale commercial project. About 35k sf of an R&R - remove and replace of asphalt. Fancy, i know. Despite the fact we delayed awarding, followed up multiple times with questions and generally subjected them to the normal Corporate delays, they were very patient, continued to bid our other projects and were overall a real pleasure to work with. Heck, even my asphalt engineering consultant was impressed, which is difficult to accomplish. And our management team had no issues, whatsoever. WIN! The finished product looks fantastic. I drove it myself a week or so ago. It is one smooth ride, baby! Which is really all you can ask for when it comes to asphalt, no? You want smooth humps, and no bumps and that's what they delivered. They also were certain to make sure the grading and drainage were shot accurately so we don't have issues in the future, for the more technical sect out there. And their crews were professional, swift, kept debris to a minimum, and worked on time. I also have no concerns about future pot holes or dips developing. It was a smooth surface and undisturbed sub grade they relaid asphalt over. I am very happy we went with GPM and am already considering them for future projects. I am left with a pipe that runs across a doorway and sticks up higher than the threshold. It is unsafe. It's a trip hazard, and a high likelihood of a broken pipe if it gets stepped on. Running the pipe above ground doesn't even make sense. They bypassed the existing below ground system and ran the pipes along the side of my house going across the doorway. In addition, I was quoted a price by Noe, and the next day he texted and told me Steve said it will be $400 more. I should have just said no at that point. I'm very disappointed because I used them a few years ago without issue. But leaving me with such substandard work and then completely ghosting me when I tried to reach out is totally unprofessional.

I have positive things to say about Evergreen Landscaping and a negative thing to say. I'll start with the good. We hired Evergreen Landscaping to do a backyard project in 2022 and a front yard project in 2025. The total cost for these two jobs was $48,000 and the work was done in Thousand Oaks. The work involved pavers, walls, stone, turf, irrigation, plantings, and lighting. Garret and his crew did a good job and we were happy with the results when they finished. Garret was good to work with and almost always responded to concerns we had. When some items needed fixing after the first project was done, he returned and took care of them. After the 2025 project, however, he has not returned to do any warranty work. Garret has not even responded to any of my attempts to reach him. In October 2025 I sent him an email indicating that the bender board edging that he installed was popping up in many places, and that a couple of plants had died. These are warranty items. A week later I followed up with another email. Next I sent a text with a picture of the front yard showing the problems. Still no response. Then I called him several times, leaving messages when he did not answer. Between each communication I waited a reasonable amount of time, just in case he was very busy. All my communications were polite and brief. He didn't respond to any of them. I just called him again in early February and still got no reply. I think Garret is acting very unprofessional and I'm very frustrated and disappointed in his refusal to reply and to honor his warranty. His website states "We stand behind our work, every installation is guaranteed for 15 years." Actions speak louder than words. Just be aware that he might not return to do warranty work if you hire him. read more

Andy was incredibly responsive. He made time to come by and look at our yard within a day of reaching out to him. He followed up and gave us a great quote for synthetic turf installation. His staff showed up right at 8 am and worked hard all day. They were back the next morning at 8 am to finish the project. They cleaned up the yard before leaving. The turf turned out great. He came out walked the property with me. He immediate got what I was trying to do. "Refresh everything with low water consumption plants and a more modern style." The original landscaping was from the 1970's. The overgrown junipers and ficus plants reflected that. The galvanized sprinklers with the leaky, non functional valves, all needed to be replaced. He said to give him a couple of days and he would get back to me. True to his word, he sent me the quote on time. I reviewed it with my wife, but she wanted to understand his plan for the property, so we arranged for him to meet us once again. He explained his vision for the property. He then took us to a Landscape nursery so that we could see the plants he had in mind. My wife like his choices, she picked a couple of flower colors and I picked the type of trees. Pete scheduled the entire thing, all four sides of the property, to be done in one weekend. He came out with his crew and demo'd everything, installed new drainage, new sprinklers (including drip irrigation) and laid new sod, planted the plants and trees and laid out the gravel and crushed granite walkways.
