She just did my hair for my wedding, as well as my bridesmaids, and it looked incredible! We all have very different types of hair and ended up with our own unique and flattering style. There weren't many reviews, but I since I'd met a hairdresser from Scissor Wizard, I gave them a try first. I am SO pleased I did! I needed the works - new cut and color and brow wax. The cut and color and wax were all perfect. And the hairdresser I got was the same one I'd met a month before! Tammy was awesome. The owner, Molly, also helped Tammy and I choose the right shades of red for my hair as well as helping us choose a new cut for me to play up my curls. The salon was warm and welcoming and the entire staff knowledgeable and professional. Would I go there again? Really the question should be why would I go anywhere else?

My first attempt at getting a haircut in Canton was at a sort of budget salon/barber shop, to avoid naming names. The cut was okay, but for my next haircut I looked at reviews and decided to check out Scissor Wizard! I'm really glad I did. I didn't schedule an appointment (which I don't think is necessary, but still), went there around 6 PM and got a hairstylist almost immediately. I showed Tami a picture of what I wanted and what I wanted different. She talked about what I wanted with me and although I was confused at certain points during the conversation, I somehow felt confident that she knew what she was doing and trusted her. She was friendly and chatted with me while snipping away, stopping frequently to explain what she was doing and ask me questions. I'm completely clueless about hair, so most of the time it came down to whether or not I wanted it shorter. Apparently, the previous hairstylist that cut my hair did some wacky thing with layers that was difficult for Tami to undo while still keeping the length that I wanted. However, when she finally turned me around to show me the back of my head I was so pleased! It wasn't an exciting haircut or anything, but somehow it felt just like finding a cute, super-comfortable pair of shoes that fit me perfectly. Tami gave me some styling advice and rang me out. It ended up being $30 (I think that was for a cut and style, since I'd washed my hair just before coming in). I never know how much to tip hairstylists, but Tami handled my incompetence very professionally. :) Really pleased with my experience here, and I will definitely be going back when I next need a haircut!

Do yourselves a big favor and just say NO!!…read more Not this place, from my experience and definitely not Angie ever, who ruined my hair color to a CLOWN-red color with yellow highlights? when I was very clear to her exactly the color I wanted, needed and look best in.. a subtle "Neutral 9" tone bc I know my hair and skin tone very well and for many, many years of doing my hair myself mostly or high end or highly recommended Salons and never had this kind of issue anywhere else before! I do the base myself usually without a problem but I decided to treat myself to a professional job and need a 9- neutral bright blonde base and possibly with a scattered 9 neutral bright highlights. It's that simple! And I was very clear to Angie about it. But left very unhappy. First off, the price they quoted me over the phone "for the base color is $70" which was a lie bc as soon as I was in her chair Angie stood back erect at me and pointed into her palm in a demeaning and demanding way, that she "only takes $78 for a base color!" I was a bit taken aback but let it go, took a deep breath and agreed bc it was too late to book anywhere else at that point and I had an important day the next day. Then she did the same about that I "needed highlights to graduate the color" and "that is $35 for 6-12 highlights?" 6-12? I again took a deep breath and tried to trust her and said ok but I definitely need a neutral 9 color tone, like the box color picture I brought in to make it crystal clear to her. She then said "it will be more warm color" but I said I don't look good in warm colors" so I should have just left then!! Instead, unfortunately, I said "well what color do you mean exactly?" And she pointed to what was in my hair already and I agreed to THAT color as long as it was more neutralized afterwards with some toner or something closer to a cool(er, but not cool.. 9 NEUTRAL." She agreed. So I let her proceed, but later very sorry for it! Over many years, only a few inexperienced Stylists in the past had over-processed my hair and I was always given a full refund or a fix depending on how bad it was and I had to usually just tone it down with Toner the next day to get any red brassiness out, let it grow out and keep deep re-conditioning it. But this Angie was adamant about giving me clown red-base with yellow highlights apparently when it was not necessary to make it that way! With this place and Angie, I was left with a clown-look, which ruined my plans for the next day, Easter Sunday and a special Birthday party! She refused to tone it down and there was even black dye left on my left ear lobe that I found when I got home. And my scalp was completely itchy all over bc the product was not properly washed out even. So unprofessional and rushed didn't even rinse the product out of my hair properly? I COULD NOT WAIT TO GET OUT OF THERE FAST ENOUGH!! "NEVER GOING BACK!!" "AND NO TIP!!" I usually always tip $20 for a good job! NEVER AGAIN!! Good luck!

Misty is a literal hair artist sent from the God's above and us folk do not deserve such…read morecraftsmanship. I started going to Misty as a pre-teen when my family moved to Akron. At 18, I moved to Utah for school and I've bounced around out west and in the DC area on and off for over a decade, and have never had someone work the kind of magic on my hair that Misty does. Utah is a cosmetology metropolis, and every other girl you meet up u t there does hair, but NONE are Misty. I unfortunately came to town for 36 hours to attend my teenage years best friend's funeral, and Misty squeezed my mom and I in and I am alive again. Misty is quickly meticulous with coloring. She weaves the color throughout your hair like nobody else. You can show her any picture you find online, and she will duplicate it. She effortlessly runs those blades and coloring brushes she's through your hair and finishes with a masterpiece every single time. Do not even get me started on her formal up-dos. Literally looks like you're going to the Grammy's. If you question whether to go to Misty or not-always choose to go.
