We are both long time clients of the salon and spa. I no longer get my hair styled there as my stylist opened her own salon, but will occasionally visit for spa pampering or product purchases. I would like to start my review by saying my Signature Spa Pedicure experience with Meagan was excellent. The service lasted 60 minutes as described and my feet looked and felt great! to her. However, my friend a long time and regular hair and spa client had a different experience. While she was happy with her pedicure, her service was approximately half the time. While finishing up her technician even made a point to explain to my friend that my technician was new therefore slower. Feeling confused and giving my friend's technician the benefit of the doubt we decided to inquire whether my friend was mistakenly booked for an Express Pedicure which is described as a 30 minute service. The main difference between the two is the length of time and a minor difference is you elect a scrub OR lotion. Both reception and the salon manager confirmed my friend received a Signature Spa Pedicure because she had all the listed services and also reiterated that my technician was new, therefore still learning and slower. I equate this to signing up for a 60 minute massage and it only lasting 30 minutes then told because it was full body it was in fact a 60 minute massage even though it lasted 30 minutes. This is upsetting for my friend essentially paid an extra $18 for one extra application and was left sitting half the time while I continued to get pampered. Also when reception checked out us out before we even approached the desk or asking how we'd like to pay. She debited both our credits on file even though my friend intended to treat for my birthday. While I planned on paying for my own service, but they shouldn't assume. Overall I would advise anyone seeking a pedicure to save yourself $18 and opt for an Express Pedicure and apply lotion yourself at the end. To Simply Swank treat your new stylists/trainees AND long time regular customers better.

I was really disappointed with my racist experience here. This situation happened a little bit ago…read morein the past, but I am just now mustering courage to put my experience into words. I went in here with my grandmother and my sister, all of us being of Indian descent. I went in for a balayage consultation and hair cut. The lady cutting my hair was distracted the entire time, as she was anticipating her next client to walk through the door at any moment (who she scheduled during my potential hair treatment time-- a little presumptuous in my opinion). She told me that with my darker complexion and hair, it would be foolish to dye my hair because it wouldn't work (so has she never seen a person of color dye their hair, let alone a person of color)? Meanwhile, my sister was getting her nails done with my grandma. She has complained in the past about them mocking my foreign and older grandma, but we dismissed the ignorance and racism because she enjoyed the familiarity of the place. However, this time, my sister told me she heard the same technician laughing in the back with the other stylists about me thinking I could dye my hair with my complexion and how unintelligent I was for thinking that. I was so taken aback and hurt by the unprofessional behavior that I confronted the stylist and said I do not feel comfortable paying for your inadequate service and impolite manner. She asserted that she "did the work so she should be paid." I was astounded by her reaction. I then had my sister call to ask to speak to management, and the receptionist immediately dismissed her, refused to let her speak to management, and completely ignored the point of the issue at hand. I then tried calling and they did the same thing to me. Eventually, my mom called and they let her talk to the manager who tried to mediate the situation without again acknowledging the discriminatory and abhorrent behavior. Nothing was really confronted because our voices did not stand a chance against theirs. Have they never dealt with clients that do not look like them? Long story short, my family and I were treated poorly and differently because of our race, which should never be dismissed, as this business attempted to do. And I happily took my business to Simply Swank. After I told the entire salon there about my racist treatment, they were horrified but also did not expect anything less from Salon 180. So, if you appreciate inequitable treatment, then this is the place to go!

They offer top-tier services and have well-trained hairdressers. I usually just ask for a trim and an eyebrow wax and they always do a fantastic job. I've also gotten my hair colored before by Nicole and she did an amazing job, I just think looking back on it that the color wasn't for me. But she's great for blondes. Everyone there is always super friendly and seem genuinely interested in getting to know me. I usually have a different person each time and they all have been super kind. The inside is also super nice and and very clean which is always important. I highly recommend this salon if you care a lot about quality when it comes to your hair.

I was told only after the stylist was over half way done with my foils, that they did not carry the color I asked for. I said a small portion of dark mixed with the blue might get me closer to what I wanted but I still wanted it light. I left with a dark teal because I didn't want to go any darker and make it hard to go light again.

I feel like I finally found it! Originally, I just needed to find someone who could cut hair and be consistent. That turned out to be Rachel. I tried two other salons and a barbershop--three cuts at each place (nine cuts) and all nine cuts were wonky. Rachel fixed what the barbershop guy hacked up. Now, through about five cuts with her, she's given me a youthful style that has looked good every time! It's more than just a haircut that keeps me coming back. I wanted to get my wife something nice for her birthday, so I got her the 'Deep Release' pedicure and bought a visit for me, too, so we could do it as a couple. We got Hanna and Amanda and they were great--so friendly and fun! The sugar scrub, foot mask, massage and even polishing (yes, I did--why not?) were relaxing and enjoyable. Oh, and the wine they served us was also quite delicious! That was in fall and my wife wanted to come back, so we were able to sneak in another pedicure just before the holidays. After another enjoyable visit, we knew pedicure season would be ending, so we booked facials with Hanna and Amanda--neither of us had ever had a facial. Now we have enjoyed two really great facial visits that were great ways to find relaxation at the end of stressful work days. I really feel like we found a consistently good salon staffed by skilled professionals who are also warm and welcoming people.

I was fortunate enough to find out about this incredible salon from a friend in my graduating class…read more(none other than Stylist Katie herself), and I can fully attest that a 35 min drive from Cleveland was so worth it for the best hair care experience I've ever had! I'm not just being dramatic here... in every single way, from the informational discussion before I arrived, to the way Sarah at the front desk made me feel so comfortable on the phone with the process, to being in person and given the royal treatment. They began with a tour of this cute spot and I couldn't have loved it more. The decor and aesthetic was stunning, stylish, and modern. When trusting someone with your hair, it feels even better in a soothing space. Katie herself was so thorough as I had questions about the differences between full color, highlights, balayage, and gloss. I can't thank her enough for being patient and descriptive in her explanations so I could make the correct hair care choice for myself. She is fully your advocate and alongside you in the journey versus feeling rushed to make a decision or unclear about what service you're receiving or what it takes to maintain it. I have been places where it seemed the most important thing was increasing the price and while this is an upscale salon, the cost ties directly to the luxury of well educated stylists and clean natural ingredients for your hair. They even provide snacks and drinks. What could be better? Every single person I encountered was kind, cheerful and welcoming. I believe it was Nicole (esthetician) who delivered my water and had such a bubbly energy and charismatic aura. Chelsea was wonderful as she helped wash/rinse my hair and put in the stop - all while she explained that it would return my ph balance back to normal which I deeply appreciated the science behind. Nerd alert. But seriously, the more you know what is happening with your hair, the more you want to take better care of it. Back to the service itself: Katie was able to aid me in the selection of a gloss and cut (which was much needed because I had some serious split ends) and the formula creation her and team made was the perfect match for what I envisioned. You know those moments where you have "hair goals" photos in mind? Without even showing her a pic, she came to the table with some options and then nailed it completely. As a redhead it has been challenging for me to find a place I feel confident won't destroy my natural color (yikes, someone made it almost purple once which took a WHILE to grow out) and Katie one hundred percent understood my concerns. I felt heard the entire time and it was an added bonus that we got to catch up on life after several years! I am beyond thrilled I took a chance on a new place that I will definitely be calling my home in the future. Thanks to Jessica and everyone at the salon for making my Valentine's Day absolutely delightful!
