The food was terrible I asked for my burger to be cooked medium, it was "carne asada" well done. Our server was scarcely seen. I had to go to the bar to refill a water. I also had a tall Blue Moon. All college age servers and you can tell they have little training and table checks are lacking. I was a restaurant/bar manager for many years. Your food could be just average and still draw big crowds. When you have bad service, it doesn't matter how good the food is. This place has serious potential if they can get service squared away.

Unfortunately, that's about where the positives end. If you're coming for the food or the service, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. We came in as a party of five a little after 9:00 PM and were told the kitchen closed at 10:00 PM. No problemo, we were ready to order right away. Instead, our server didn't return to take our order until around 9:20PM, despite nearby tables continuing to receive service. That was the first sign things weren't going well. I ordered the carne asada nachos specifically because the menu advertised them with queso instead of shredded cheese. I even mentioned to my group that was the reason I was ordering them. I also added a side of sweet potato waffle fries. About 25 minutes after we had already placed our order, the server came back and asked if I'd like a different meat. Like of course I don't want a different meat that's why I ordered carne asada. The server didn't say that they were out of carne asada, but I read between the lines and opted for ground beef cause really the queso is what makes the nachos. Also, I couldn't help wondering why it took 25 minutes to find that out. Then the food arrived. My nachos immediately looked different than expected. Instead of queso, they were covered with shredded cheese. Nothing was mentioned about being out of queso. I notice there was none. When I asked about it, the server casually said, "Oh yeah, we're out of queso too." Wait...what? So the restaurant was out of both the carne asada and the queso. The two main ingredients that made me order the dish in the first place. No one cared to mentioned either of those things when taking my order OR when coming back and asking if I wanted a different meat didn't also mention they were out of queso. Had I known, I would have ordered something completely different from the start. To the server's credit, she did let me order something else. Sucks for the kitchen because they were already closed. I ended up getting the sliders, but they were just as underwhelming as everything else. The food overall tasted like frozen products that had simply been reheated. Nothing tasted fresh, especially considering the prices. The biggest issue wasn't just the mediocre food, it was the lack of communication and straight lie when placing my food in front of me. If items are unavailable, tell customers before they order or at least when placing their food down, not after they've waited half an hour and not saying anything at all. Between the disappointing service, poor communication, and unforgettable food for all the wrong reasons, this place completely lost my trust. I'd honestly rather spend half the money at IHOP, where the food is more consistent and I'd know what to expect.

The totchos were great, I ate more than my stomach appreciated. My husband ordered a fried chicken sandwich with marinara and a cold beer. I did not ask him how his meal was, but his sandwich disappeared pretty quickly so im assuming it was tasty. The woman running trivia was delightful, with a fantastically dry sense of humor. At one point she mentioned she once got to see Prince and touched his ankle. Long story short, I have now touched the hand that touched Prince's ankle. We made it through 7 rounds of trivia and somehow WON! A crowning achievement of year 37 of my life, for sure. This win earned us: a $25 gift certificate to the lovely Sawtooth Bar & Grill establishment, a rubber ducky of our choosing, a crystal pendant (optional), and 1 week of ownership of the trivia night trophy . We did not trust ourselves to remember to bring back the trophy, and I did not trust some of the fellas to bring it back in one piece, so the bar staff graciously took custody of it until next week's trivia night. The bar itself is super cozy. Nice low lighting, small place but you don't feel cramped. Lots of TVs and a few arcade games. My husband and his BFF frequent this spot and tell me wonderful things about the owner. With the decor, setup, menu and general ambience, it feels like a Midwestern bar more than one in AZ. All in all, I really enjoyed myself and will happily return for another trivia night. If the staff ever happens upon this review, I apologize for the conjoined twins that are my husband and his best friend Scott. My daughter ordered the hot wings for an appetizer. She raved about the wings and the ranch dressing. We ordered the black and blue burger with the spicy Italian sausage pizza. The burger was juicy and bacon was included. There was the right amount of blue cheese. French fries came with the burger and they were good. The pizza had a nice crispy crust and a decent amount of sausage. The hot peppers on it were good, they over powered the pizza and sausage. The pizza was tasty. I would have liked more sausage to balance out the toppings.
