This was my first haircut post Covid and they followed all the guidelines and made sure their clients felt safe and welcomed. The salon is set up beautifully with high end touches and they carry a wonderful line of products! Matt listened to what I wanted and made sure I was happy with the color and cut. He worked all while carrying on the most pleasant conversation. It was like we were old friends catching up even though we'd never met. After seeing my hair, my mom was blown away and booked herself an appointment that same week. Her hair has never looked better!! Matthew is truly great at and passionate about his craft. This salon clearly does not care about that. First off, no one ever answers the phone. There is no way to get a hold of the owner, and communication is non-existent. My stylist, Lucky, already canceled on me in December for a funeral, which I understood. But then in January, I rescheduled for a Wednesday, and a day later, I saw my appointment was changed in the system without anyone even telling me. When I finally got a hold of her, she said she was "on a movie set." I had specifically picked "Any Staff" when I booked so that I wouldn't have to deal with one person's schedule, so why was I being told I couldn't be seen? If you're busy on a movie set, you shouldn't be taking bookings from the public. When she finally "fitted me in" at 7 PM, the whole thing was half-assed and rushed. I didn't even get to pick my own glaze color; she just did whatever. I told her I was happy to finally get my split ends under control, and she just dismissed me and said, "everyone has split ends." I go to a salon for the experience and to feel seen, but I felt like I was just a nuisance she was trying to hurry up and finish. To make it even worse, my partner's appointment was also canceled last minute because the other stylist didn't have a babysitter. It's just constant excuses here. Then, when it was finally time to go, Lucky didn't even seem to know how to collect the payment. It was so disorganized and awkward. I still gave a 15% tip because I'm a responsible person and I value labor, but honestly, I feel like I was bamboozled. I could have stayed home and done the glaze and the cut myself for way less money and zero headache. I'm done with professional salons if this is how they treat people. I won't be back.

As soon as I sat in her chair for my hair trial, I knew I was in good hands. I hadn't had my hair done since my senior prom and every blowout I've ever had disappears in a matter of hours. Needless to say, I was a total newbie to getting styled. I had some vague instructions/inspiration pictures, but Kristin really listened to me and offered her expertise when it was clear I really wasn't sure of my vision. During the trial, she tried out a couple different things and listened to me when I told her to use way more hairspray than she thought was necessary. I expected her to be on my a** for clear instructions for my bridesmaids, but she never pressured me to make decisions I didn't want to and was totally flexible to tailor each girl's style on the day-of without compromising on time. Even when someone in my party went MIA and threw off the timeline, Kristin kept her cool and pivoted to make the most of the time. We went in on a Sunday, so Kristin let us take over her studio so we could hang out together, get dressed, blast music, and eat snacks. She was a gracious host and even let our traveling makeup artists set up shop in her chairs. The space is also super funky and I am elated with how the pictures came out. As for the finished product - I could have cried. I felt like an absolute princess surrounded by a all of my fairy godmothers. My hair was better than I could have imagined because she was not afraid to use her judgement to create something she knew would be beautiful. She also deviated a bit (in the best way) from what we had done at the trial, which told me she was being very thoughtful and not just using muscle memory to play it safe. She seemed nice but after I left the salon I was left wondering why she did such a poor job on me, I've seen photos of her work and of the wonderful colors she has done as being the color specialist of the shop. Since December, I've still been a bit disturbed as to why she let me leave the salon with hair that I disliked more than when I came (I actually wish I had my normal hair back, as it was much better before I sat down with her) I had red hair dye all over my forehead.. my ears.. the back of my neck.. my cheeks. I sat in my car and cried like a little girl because why would you do that.... I wished I didn't go in there and just kept my hair how it was. The color itself was not at all what I had wanted, after showing photos, etc. I understand not getting the EXACT shade of course, but this was just incomparable.. after asking how I'd like it styled and saying I would like just a regular blowout, I was disappointed with how she managed to do it.. I've seen blowouts on her portfolio.. I even do my own blowouts.. she could've handed me the styling tools and I could have done it myself if she didn't plan on doing a good job on me.. she left my hair super frizzy, and nowhere near a blowout at all. It was the day before Christmas, even after getting such disappointing service, I still tipped a lot. The only reason I chose this shop is because Tara's family is neighbors with my mother and I wanted to go to a familiar business. I wish the experience could've been better. In the photo, it is my hair just the day before seeing Kaitlyn, and then immediately after. It looks horrible.
