She continually educates herself on new techniques, and then teaches those techniques to her team - you can't go wrong with any of the Brooks & Harlow ladies. I followed Emily when she moved locations in Victor and then when she started Brooks & Harlow. She rescued my hair after a terrible color processing (with a different stylist at a different salon) that completely damaged my hair. Somehow, my hair feels healthier after a two and a half hour balayage than it did before. I am confident that I will leave happy every time - even when I'm not able to articulate exactly what I want for my color. She always creates something beautiful. Also beautiful, is the Brooks & Harlow salon itself! Inside is so inviting, starting with the team Emily selected to greet you. Beyond hair, Megan Shapiro is a brow master. She found a way to make getting my brows waxed enjoyable (if that's even possible). I don't usually have my brows done professionally, because it tends to be hit or miss (most always a miss). This was my first visit to the salon. First impression was the welcoming greeting I received from Emily the owner of this very modern,clean upbeat salon. They are taking every possible precaution during these unsettling times to keep their clients and staff safe and make everyone feel comfortable, from temperature checks to sanitizing everything as they go along. My appointment was with Emily who definitely is not a stylist she is a true artist ! I have never had my haircut the way she did with a razor and the texturizing that she did with scissors ,it was amazing just watching her. This cut was a really drasticee change for me from long to short hair and she spent so much time with me listening to what I wanted and more importantly what I didn't want. The end result was absolutely perfect! Every time I go out I get so many compliments and most importantly my husband loves it . Emily has even followed up with me to make sure the cut it working out well and offering styling tips for me so I can achieve the best results at home . Now seriously in today's world who takes the time to do this ! I have had good haircuts in the past but once you have experienced a great haircut you can never go back to good. Brought my niece in here to get her hair done for a play she had coming up. Being a guy, a trip to the hair salon is like a trip to another world - but she's my little niece; and Uncle Neven wanted to make sure she was ready for her big day! When I walked in I was greeted with a smile by Emily, the owner - who went to great lengths to get it right. She took extra care of my niece and made her feel extremely comfortable, the two bonded superbly; Emily has a knack for kids. She asked me what it was that I was looking to get done for her and I replied like any guy would, "...I have no idea..it's for a play...". We laughed but I could tell Emily knew exactly what she was doing. She sprang into action and went to work. The attention to detail and her thorough nature left me in awe. I had a rough idea on what a GOOD cut/style would be, but when Emily was done, my niece left with a GREAT, even AMAZING cut and style. I went to get my brows done by Megan and she did such an AMAZING job! I'm always so excited to go see her. Not only is she super sweet and friendly, but very professional and is the BEST at making your brows look soooo good. I recommend all my friends to go see her for brows and lashes. I also got my hair cut by Kari and Brittany, and they were by far the best haircuts I've ever received, they know what they're doing! My bangs were growing out and looked uneven so Kari framed my face perfectly and it dramatically changed the look of my hair! She also gave me lots of good tips to improve my hair care routine! I had an truly outstanding experience today at this salon. My stylist is Lindsay. I met with her for a consultation appointment last week to discuss cut and highlights and booked the appointment for today. When I got there, before we began, Lindsay pulled out her phone. She had researched photos (for me) of highlighted hair to make sure we were "on the same page". What a true professional; going "above and beyond". I am incredibly impressed! And the final result? AMAZING! I have not been this happy with my hair in a long time. Lindsay is a terrific communicator and that, too, takes the experience to the next level. Went in for a cut and highlights, not really sure what to expect in this era of Covid. The salon was super clean, they took my temperature and I noticed all the employees did a through job disinfecting anything anyone touched! Everyone wore masks and I felt very safe. I had to find a new stylist and usually have a hard time settling down with one I like but Brit did a fabulous job listening to my input and giving me a lot of options and suggestions! I was referred to Shannon to help ease my way out of my color treated hair and into my natural "salt and pepper" color. She met with me first to discuss what I wanted and we talked about how long it would take and how we would get there. She is very knowledgeable and trustworthy so I took her lead ... Ive been a hairstylist for 60 years I started at 15.Iv'e kept up with latest techniques since then.I have been to so many high end "advanced classes" I have lost count. Emily is so generous with her expertise I follow her now.I have NEVER EVER seen such magnificent work .Emily is truly a Master Hairstylist/colorist! I'm new to the area and was so pleased with the salon and all the staff in which I interacted. Lindsey and Brittany were so nice and professional and understood my needs. Megan has done a spectacular job highlighting / coloring my hair so that my grey hair is blended. I was having my grey hair colored to my original brown on a monthly basis and just getting frustrated with the very obvious regrowth.
