#1. There is no sign in this salon nor any information on line regarding the availability of remedial cuts; #2. I received an extremely short cut (more like a crewcut then what I requested), so the only remedy -aside from allowing my hair to grow out for several weeks- would have been to shave my head; #3. As all your experienced stylists were all booked for months ahead of time, who would be available to give me a professional/remedial cut? #4. STEPHANIE IS LEGENDARY -- and for good reason. I first heard of Headspace at a charity event. I color my own hair, meticulously painting purple and blue among the grey and silver hairs. Guests complimented me at the event, asked me who did it, and were surprised when I said I did. "I thought for sure Stephanie at Headspace did that." The speaker even looked up Headspace on her phone and showed me a photo of Stephanie with her curly colored hair and great style. I resolved to meet her and maaaaybe hand my head over to her. Sometime. This is no small feat. I have cut and colored my own hair for decades. I had yet to come home from a salon and not "fix" what they did. And I have lived the past 40 years in NYC and L.A., so it's not like I was going to some random person with a hairdryer in her basement. Not that there's anything wrong with that. There is talent everywhere. I made a consult appt with Stephanie and she got what I wanted right away. She made no mention of changing the color or the person who applied it. I said I wanted to go curly and so the top of my head needed to be shorter. Hair curls better with a curly cut -- which is not something I know how to do. I try to get a professional cut every couple of years, just because I don't want to walk around with a mullet. And this was a time for a pro. Today I got a GREAT haircut from Stephanie. I did not have to muck with it. At all. I came home proclaiming great appreciation for Steph as a person and conversationalist, and Mr. Romance said carefully (he's trained), "Do YOU like your hair...?" I nodded emphatically and said yes. He immediately said, "Because I think it looks GREAT. I love it. Very fun. Very you. " Go to Headspace. They are busy, and Steph is just at the beginning of building what I am sure will be an empire, but if you have to wait a couple of weeks, it's worth it. I was in yesterday afternoon at 2:00 for a hair cut. , I was very nervous as I hadn't had a cut in a year ,& going somewhere new is always nerve racking . I was very off put by the stylist who looked annoyed when she saw me , so that left a bad taste in my mouth , the receptionist was lovely very sweet . I told Courtney I wanted long layers with face framing pieces , I showed her a photo , the pieces in the front are nothing like what I asked for , I said I was scared of change and loved curtain bangs but really scared to do something new . She went and chopped my bangs so short , they're to my nose , not my chin like I asked , and like the photo I showed her . When I noticed right away and said that's really short , she said oh it's not styled yet ! And tried to tell me well the picture.. she gave me nothing even close to what I wanted . I left angry and upset I went to bed angry and upset and I woke up the same . I'm very very disappointed with my haircut and thought if I played with it at home ,& slept on it I'd like it , I shouldn't have to convince my self to like something . My favorite thing about the salon is that their services are not gendered, so as an AFAB person with short hair, I don't end up paying more for absolutely no reason. I feel very comfortable stepping in and being taken care of by either Steph, Jasmin, or Jill. I've been getting my hair done by Stephanie for several years and I'm never disappointed. Everyone is great at their craft here, and are very careful + sanitary during these times, which is really important to me. Jasmin is a genius! My 7 year old daughter has incredibly thick hair. I've often been disappointed with the haircuts she was given. Her hair was often cut unevenly. At times she was scolded for not sitting still as the stylist was blaming her for her thick locks Jasmin not only gave her an extraordinary haircut but knew precisely how to speak with her and get her to position her head just so. She understood how best to work with my daughter's hair and cut it entirely with a razor instead of scissors. I dont know how there are so many excellent reviews for this place. While the staff is very sweet, some of these young ladies are not skilled enough. When speaking to a receptionist and asked to clarify with a hairdresser it was never done. As a result I was not given a time slot long enough for what i wanted done. And honestly it was the same thing i wanted from the first visit and never received. Theres also contradictions where the first time the hairdresser cant rebleach my ends to now they could but the time didnt allow it. And even asking for shorter layers the hairdresser didnt feel she could do that either. In addition. my first session ended up with an obvious line from my foils that i now have to have corrected. Got an appointment with a tiktok lady now who really seems to know her job. So im glad this didnt work out. read more

I needed my hair done with little notice and my usual stylist (Stephanie) was booked for the next few weeks. She recommended I go to a stylist they had recently hired named Jill. I trust the business and needed my hair done ASAP so I didn't hesitate to book an appointment. I had a trim and a root touch up and full head of highlights. The work Jill did was excellent. I was at a loss when my former salon closed down but an employee at Ulta beauty told me I should check out Headspace Salon in Saugerties. I am so glad I took a chance on this place! It's woman owed and operated by Jasmine and Stephanie. They are both so sweet and wonderful stylists! Jasmine did my hair and really hit the nail on the head. I'm usually about 75% satisfied with the results I get from most salon experiences but this time my expectations were totally surpassed Stephanie is great too. I saw her in action and she actually had a client that was undergoing a huge transformation, like cutting off 8 or so inches! The client looked so freaking awesome when she left and definitely had a pep to her step Also Stephanie was rocking some amazing fuchsia locks! One last thing~ they allowed me to bring my pup into the salon which is always a good sign. Hair Color Review only: Stephanie is very skilled at her craft. I have been to salons in LA and Manhattan with highly rated stylists and they are not as impressive as Stephanie. Whilst they spend a lot of their timing borderline whining about the effort they will have to put in to get my dark brown hair to blond, while covering grey, Jennifer spent zero time making a deal about it. She looked at my roots, listened to what I wanted and in half the time it took others, did a better job than anyone else has. I'm so impressed, I have made the unfortunate realization that I will have to travel from wherever I am when my roots appear, to see Stephanie. Also, for me personally, I love that she doesn't ask : "what do you do?" questions. She's very engaging, but doesn't asks questions beyond the conversation you offer. read more

What a fabulous salon! I just had a wash cut blow dry by jasmine. I have been to many stylists not to mention am one my self and hardly ever pleased with my haircuts.
