Very odd experience, stood at entrance by "Wait To Be Seated" sign for what seemed to be a very very long 7 to 10 minutes as 5 different staff just looked casually at us in passing several times never speaking let alone offering to seat us. No one else in line, only 3 to 4 tables with guests. Very weird and uncomfortable feeling. Went to Whole Hog, ya baby! Will give one star for the great looking online Picts of food! read more

Food was so good and a huge portion o give you dinner for the next day. Service was wonderful. Only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars odds that I was freezing. Heady's is the best BBQ in the Springfield area. The Pulled Pork is moist, succulent, and seasoned so well that no BBQ sauce is needed. The service was average but the staff was very friendly. read more

Be very cautious when eating their potato salad!! My husband ended up having a plastic square bread tie in his potato salad. We asked to speak to the manager and it took two request before he made it to our table! When he finally made it my husband showed him the tie. The manager didn't apologize and said our bread is right next to the salad so it probably just fell in. My husband had been feeding the potato salad to your two year old and when we said he could have ended up with it his response: it's just a bread tie?!? What a joke for customer service and then refused to take it off our bill. Two of four meals were decent. But after the experience of not caring if we found 'just a bread tie' and them not caring if our son ended up with it we will never return! This place is so good and such a nice addition to Republic! My favorite things here are the Gouda cheese bites appetizer, and the rib sandwich. The Gouda bites have cheese and macaroni noodles inside them...our family can't get enough of them!! My husband really likes the barbecue nachos, and my dad loves the hot links! If you're looking for good quality BBQ, this place can easily compete with any restaurant in Springfield. read more

The best BBQ in the area! The Ribs are excellent!!...meaty, tender and juicy, along with the pulled pork and brisket. Nobody else can make BBQ sauce this good. Their original sweet sauce is the best. Their fried okra and pea salad are always good sides. We've been there several times and never had a bad experience, except when picking up a food order once. I've lived in Springfield area for 5 years after moving here from the KC area. All the ribs I've had are either really tough or so tender, you can't eat them off the bone. These ribs were perfect. Tender, but actually stayed on the bone until you ate the meat off. The two-timer sandwich was good and nice sized. Not overpriced like the slider sized sandwiches at Famous Daves. My service was good and I didn't hear any yelling, which I'm glad. Can't wait to try this again. read more

Okay, the food is amazing, I will start off with that. Their customer service and attitude is not amazing. On Feb, 20th, we went to Headys BBQ to pick up a carry out order. When we got there due to ice, and power outage, no one was there at 8:30 P.M. I was frustrated because no one thought to take down my phone number, so I contacted the manager. The manager's response was rude and he bold faced lied to me. I understand situations like this occur, but the weather was icy and I live outside Republic. The manager told me they closed at 9:30 P.M and they had already thrown away my food assuming I would not be driving in on the ice to get it anyways. I did not appreciate someone assuming what I was going to be doing or not doing. And they closed at 8:30 P.M not 9:30 P.M. read more

I am gonna break this review down to service and food. Both of which received one star. Service: We were promptly greeted at the front door and thought it would be a great treat but everything quickly went downhill. After getting to our table it took another 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. 15 minutes for someone to even say hello. At that point we should have left but we decided to give it a shot. Little did we know the food would even fall short of the service. Food: We ordered one appetizer, and two entrées. The appetizer was very lackluster and quite greasy, Gouda cheese bites. Our two main courses, pulled pork sliders and Rib sandwich, were extremely below par. The pulled pork sliders were extremely soggy and completely lacked any depth of flavor. Then you try to give it any flavor with their BBQ sauce and they were all watered down with no flavor as well. Even their "Extremely spicy habanero BBQ sauce" had no heat. How can you offer a spicy sauce and it barely has any kick at all. Then we get to the worse part of the whole dinner...The rib sandwich. The description clearly says in parentheses(don't worry we take the bone out)..... Well my wife takes her first bite from her meal and let's just say I am shocked we didn't have to take her to the dentist. One HUGE BONE right in the middle of the sandwich. How do you miss that? When the waitress finally got back to our table and I brought it to her attention she has the nerve to say " oh that happens sometimes"...... Are you serious? That is your response. If this happens more then once maybe you should hire better cooks or take the course off the menu. Completely shocked. Then when she brings the check there was no sorry, no discount for an inedible meal. Nothing. Just a full check and a piss poor attitude. I would not even waste your time going to this place. Huge disappointment. I can guarantee this will be my first and last time ever to step foot into this establishment again. read more
