Wow yes we recommend! We actually went a little out of the way based on their five stars rating. So worth it! We both got the same combo platter, with brisket, turkey and pulled pork. Same sides as well, okra and beans. The owners are friendly and talkative and so hospitable! It's a total hole in the wall with family recipes for the sauce. He was very proud of the mustard based sauce but they were all good! The reaper sauce is good and hot, but not overly so. Stray from interstate and check this place out! read more

last 3 times I've been through their doors I have been told we are open today we are busy catering. no sign on the door to reflect this. actually rude about it yesterday. we used to love the food there. last time I was able to get their potato salad (that my husband loved) the quart was only 3/4 way full and the pulled pork was so dry we seriously had to throw it away. Maybe a bad day not sure but it has changed from a year ago. Maybe their catering has become more lucrative so the individual customer isn't as important? 3 times though now so think it's time for us to change bbq places. read more

I was truly disappointed by both the setting and the food. I heard another customer describe it as early flea market. There are 4 tables with chairs inside with picnic tables outside. The tables were plain nasty. They had small rotating trays with their two kinds of BBQ sauce. Also present was an empty bottle of hand sanitizer, a used candle, and an empty bottle of some kind of oil. Now to the food. My husband ordered brisket with coleslaw and French fries. The brisket was sliced paper thin and had no real meat or BBQ flavor, the French fries were a dark grayish brown were awful, and the coleslaw just wasn't good. I had the rib platter with potato salad and the BBQ beans. The ribs leaned toward tough and had very little BBQ flavor. The beans and potato salad were both quite good. Two men came in and mentioned it was chicken Thursday. I asked about that and was told they have fried chicken every Thursday. No where did we see mention of the fried chicken or when it was available on their hodgepodge menus up on the wall. I doubt that I'd ever recommend to anyone to go there to eat. read more

Ate here again yesterday, after a while away. Over the last couple years, St. George has improved his menu considerably, and added daily specials. He's also open 'til 6 Thursday and Friday, 'til 5 most other days, and closed on Sunday. Most of the time I've eaten here I've had the barbecue brisket sandwich, because, well, I like brisket a lot. (Beef *is* "real food for real people," after all.) But yesterday he had a pulled pork sandwich and fries on special, so I decided to try "the other white meat". St. George's sandwiches are good. He does use store-bought buns, but they're decent ones with a lot of body to them, and there's always more meat than will stay in the sandwich. The barbecue sauce was good, too (I just used the spicy version). I have no complaints whatsoever about the pulled pork, and would order it again. This was also the first time I'd had his french fries, and they were everything that I could ever hope for a french fry to be: served hot and fresh and done to a turn. It also bears mentioning that St. George's has a wifi hotspot, though his Internet for it was down at the time I ate there (St. George said he's getting it back up again in the near future). I have perhaps been lucky in that most of the times I've gone to eat there have been the late afternoon, when not many people are around. It may well get a little crowded at the top of the lunch hour. But the barbecue is just as good if you get it to go! read more

I've only been here once, but it was a positive experience. I ordered a chicken sandwich with beans and a drink & it cost me $7.51. It was a special, but I was surprised by the plate of food I received. The chicken was breast sliced thin & piled high on the bun. I'm not sure when the chicken was cooked but it seemed to be reheated. It wasn't the best bbq chicken I've had but it was better then what I was expecting. They don't sauce their meat which is how I prefer it. The beans were filled with meat & had a pretty good taste. I ate inside the restaurant & there wasn't a lot of space. If given the option I'd probably give them 3.5 stars but I'll round up due to the great price. read more

One of the best deals in town on when it comes to catering. Make sure you ask for the baby potatoes, they'll be a big hit. The only reason why I'm rating this as 4 instead of a 5 is that it's practically impossible to get a hold them on the phone - you have to go to them in person and their hours are wacky and don't work for those of us who don't work nearby. read more

These guys have the best pulled pork in town. Customer service is exceptional. I found them by accident, I had them catered a dinner for a local college team. Their food and Service are the best!
