We were chatting about running shoes and we started talking about triathlons. FWIW Sam is better than any podiatrist I've ever seen. Was in and out for about 20 minutes but came out with two pairs of the most comfortable everyday & trail run shoes. Stopped in because my mom was curious about Hoka's. They had a nice selection outside the store and a wall of shoes inside. The employee, Dante was very kind and assisted us, my mom was able to try out her size and see different colors. He knew exactly what I needed and was willing to assist me is getting me a better size and even gave me a few more recommendations, all while on a run at 10pm! 10/10 would recommend this store! Loved my time at the Healdsburg Running Company. I went to the store after a friend recommended them for their inventory and knowledge of the items they sell. Upon me arriving I was greeted by Ralph. He took his time measuring me for my size in shoes. Ralph also put me through a machine to show me where my feet put the most pressure. He then helped me by offering options of shoes that would work for both road and trail running. We decided on a pair and I am in love with everything. My boyfriend and I came here to go shoe shopping and were helped by Jameson. We were looking for a running shoe that would have a nice, wide toebox while also having good cushion and a medium size drop, 6mm or less. Jameson was incredibly helpful and patient with us (we tried like 6 pairs before making a decision). The brands they carry are pretty high end, but I'm a firm believer that when it comes to athletic clothing and shoes, you truly get what you pay for. Not environmental friendly for a store that markets itself as a enthusiastic outdoor running company- had a very large and sad and deflated display of very large balloon arch on their parklet on Center Street over Memorial Day 2023 weekend. Balloons are just plastic litter and are the number one killer of sea birds. Balloons are an environmental threat and it's tone deaf for a company that market itself as being environmentally friend. It was obvious on that Sunday evening that the balloon display was installed on Friday because it was sagging, deflated and sad looking. It was sagging into their parklet. Also, this store doesn't carry any stock of children sized shoes. Children run too! read more

He told me where to run, where not to run (due to the recent fires), and where to get some good vino. I went back for some HRC running gear and was sad to find out they didn't have any SG 4's in my size. We were in town visiting some local vineyards and stopped in to the store to check out the inventory. The store was overly cluttered because of the local fires, so all the racks were on top of the employees and customers...no worries, they made us feel right at home. The main man Skip was incredibly helping in trying to find a size of t-shirt for me. When I told him it was ok, he turned around and dove into some boxes in a side closest (above and beyond). I appreciated that as well as his help with the products I was looking over. In the end he offered up a free sample of a hydration cure and was easily one of the most knowledgeable runners I have come across in a long time. This review is for Ralph and Skip. Ralph had amazing customer service etiquette, multitasking skills, and was very knowledgeable in the various shoes. I walked in when Ralph was currently helping two ladies. Ralph greeted me, and said to let him know if I needed any help. I loved what I saw on the shoe shelves, a lot of fun choices. I found about 3 pairs of shoes that I wanted to try on. Once he was finished with the two ladies, he took a look to see which shoes I had in hand. He gave me a very thorough description on all three. Ralph's shift was coming to an end. He asked if I needed anything else since he was heading out the door, and then introduced me to Skip. Ralph continued to give good advice, even as he was walking out the door. I loved that. He must've stayed about 5 minutes chatting, even though it was time for him to go home. I went into HRC about 2 weeks ago and was helped by Brett (or Brent) and the experience was wonderful. I am getting back into running and was probably vague about what I was looking for but Brett was courteous and attentive. He spent the time needed and had me demo many different shoes. He assessed my gait and explained my needs. He also presented many different price points, even beginning by showing me less expensive sale items. I really dislike shopping and especially when I am ignorant on the product but this was honestly one of the most pleasant retail experiences I have ever had. 2 weeks in and I love the shoes I chose and look forward to another reason to go to HRC! read more

First of all, "I hate to run" but I needed a new pair of shoes and was blown away by the positive shopping experience. The gents manning the store were super cool. They demonstrated great passion for running and were very patient and helpful finding the right shoe for me. This highly personalized shopping experience started with a computer measurement of my foot and then going outside several times as they watched me run to check my gait. While ringing up my purchases, we had a few moments to talk about companies in the active lifestyle market (GoPro, Fitbit, Nike, Under Armour, etc) and whether they would be good stocks to invest in. I recently went into this store August 28th 2022, looking for Brooks tennis shoes walked in one young man at counter one sitting on a bench nobody else in the store. I ask the one sitting if they had brooks shoes he said yeah and I asked where he pointed up at the rack up there and I said I'm short and older and can't see well could he show me so he stood up and pointed at a shoe those. I ask if he had any other colors and he said yes.... Could I see he said I think black.... I Walked out absolutely no customer service at all.
