In the winter, I'm here for the blood oranges, clementines and pomegranates. In the summer, I'm all about the berries - hoods, blueberries and blackberries - and peaches. Lots of people complained that WF is expensive, but it depends on what you are buying. Their 365 brand sells local products and is very affordable and the items are fantastic. Some that I particularly like are the instant coffee, great for my afternoon iced coffee drink; their pasta is wonderful and they offer many shapes, not just the norms, the cavatelli being one of my favorites; tortilla chips, black beans, Thai Curry cashews, veggie straws - just to name a few. Like all WFs, they have an exceptional prepared food area with lots of delicious mains and fixings. The one thing I'm not a fan of is the roasted chicken. I've bought dozens and they are always dry. Not sure what's up with that because everything else is really good. Bakery section has tempting treats, lots of grainy breads and even gluten free options. The cheese area is fantastic, always something new to try. Because of the prices, I can't afford to shop here for my everyday items, but I come when I want high quality meat, cheese, and produce. And my favorite 365 items. When items are on sale, Prime users get additional discounts, sometimes as high as 20 or 30% off. Great time to stock up on pantry items.

Great selection of organic produce but overall this is kind of a low key WF, not all that. The…read moresalad bar and hot food options are not bad, but they run out early in the day usually. Fish choices are good, though most things are overpriced (as usual) but I like that the store is fairly easy to navigate, with wide aisles, and parking is a breeze - plus there's an Amazon counter in store and a Starbucks and ACE Hardware right across the parking lot. Hence my middle of the road rating.

I came in to get a couple of Helimix shaker bottles hoping that the GNC lids will be easier to open than the Yeti ones. While I was there, I decided to take a look around the store. GNC has a wide variety of standard supplements, and unique brands, including Qualia. Jordan said that if I sign up as a member, I can get 10% off and that they price match even Costco prices. I buy Qualia directly from their website, and have to pay the shipping. Now I learned that I can buy it here and save on the shipping plus get 10% off. This will save me $16/month alone, so I signed up. I was expecting to walk in here and get standard service. I'm impressed with Jordan being so knowledgeable and helpful that I recommend Yelpers to come check this GNC out!

I waited a few minutes for him the get settled and then walked up to the door. Locked. I waited outside about 5 minutes before he leisurely unlocked the door and walked away. When I walked in he didn't say a thing. I wondered around the store looking for a particular product. A normal person would ask "can I help you find anything".... nope nothing. So I left and will spend my money elsewhere. Bring back the old employees that were so helpful and get rid of this guy! He is not doing anything beneficial for your company.

Summertime rolls...Jane's Addiction harmony in my head…read more On a holiday in the sun like Weezer in the lovely Pacific NW in the Summertime decided to do a yatra aka pilgrimage to People's Co-op. I lived walking distance from People's Co-op circa 2004 where I lived right across from the now defunct all vegan coffeeshop aka Red and Black. In 2004-2005 I was a working member cleaning the bulk bins as my seva aka service. This is where I first started teaching yoga at the community room upstairs at People's Co-op. Dusty started the program that sadly is no longer currently active. They had some great classes there and have fond memories of a Iyenger influenced yoga teacher that taught classes I liked. This was when I was teaching classical hatha yoga and had not yet shifted my yoga teaching to the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition. Fast forward to the moment of Jun 20223. It's the return and went to People's Co-op. It still is an amazing place. They have a farmer's market here every Wed. Their bulk selection is amazing (see my photos) and so is there produce. Friendly and helpful staff. Afterwards go to Belmont for heaps of plant based, vegetable forward, tasty, amazing vegan restaurants and food trucks that are amazing. Vegan bars, vegan food trucks, innovative vegan restaurants like Fermenter, and more that will satisfy all folks who follow whatever diet from vegan to paleo to gluten-free to omnivore.

Since it was my first time, I didn't become a member, just wandered about to see what they carry. In support of sustainability and buying just what you need, they have bulk grains, nuts, seeds, and spices. Produce, milk, eggs, cheese, cereals, healthier versions of packaged mac&cheese, rice and noodle dishes, and other pantry items. They don't sell meat Since they are a vegetarian and vegan market. Specifically, I was looking for puffed quinoa, but they did not carry it. No one seems to! On this day, the adjacent parking lot was in use by their Wednesday Farmer's Market. It was easy to find parking on the street.

From the first few emails I knew that Josh was going to be great to work with. He listened to all of my ideas and together we came up with a delicious menu. He had so many amazing dishes as inspiration and really created the perfect menu for me and my guests. Josh answered all of my emails promptly and with such a kind attitude. We all absolutely loved the amazing food and the entire experience! Honestly, everyone was talking about it for days afterward. It was such a unique experience for each of us. None of us have ever been treated to such a special meal in a private home. There were many great comments about each course but the Oregon Mushroom Soup was the favorite for many! My sister doesn't usually like mushrooms but convinced herself to try the soup and then decided it was her favorite course ~ of course she loved everything else too. Josh and his assistant India were just so pleasant and approachable. That made a huge difference to the experience. We loved having both of them in our home. And... they cleaned everything up! I'm very particular about my kitchen and they didn't disappoint in that respect either. I could go on and on but really just want to say that Josh exceeded all expectations. We hope to have another occasion to work with him in our home.
