We were excited to hire Sage. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience and learned that the company doesn't take responsibility for the chef's they place in your homes. There were a couple of things that happened, but the worst of it was our chef served us raw chicken. We were told the chicken was fully cooked so we didn't think twice before sitting down to eat it. It was heavy sauced and the chicken was in small pieces so we couldn't tell the meat was raw until it was too late. I immediately contacted Sage and they were much more concerned about a review than they were our potentially getting sick. On that same cook date, the chef broke our stovetop. He used it the entire day cooking and at the end of the day I heard him trying to start the ignitor a couple of times, so I checked it after he left. It only partially ignited so I contacted him and asked about it. He said there may be some "debris in the passage" and included a DYI video link on how to fix it. It's a gas stovetop so I'm not comfortable DIY'ing it and hired someone to come out and fix it. I mentioned this to Sage and sent them the $428 bill, which is hardly a big ask given they broke it and just exposed us to food poisoning. Sage refused to pay for the stovetop repair, saying we couldn't prove the chef broke it. It's $428. The chef cooked that day and it worked, he left it didn't work AND more importantly you exposed us to food poisoning. Are you serious? Twice we got emails from Sage implying that they might cover these expenses if we removed our review. Doing the right thing and taking responsibility should not be tied to a review status and their request should be kept in mind when reading the other reviews. We did not agree and have since gotten word that they aren't covering the stove, as mentioned above. The only thing they did in the end was not charge us for the cook date when we were given the raw chicken. Even that they implied was a favor since the bad chicken only represented 1/4 of the meals we got that week. Who on earth is going to eat dinners prepared by someone who gave them food poisoning? I think Sage is a great business concept and I'm sure they have some good cooks, but it seems hit and miss and if you get a miss, good luck to you. read more

The food was great, however, did not meet my nutritional requirements. They sent instructions in an authoritative tone, like an order. and generally the tone of communication was usually sharp. And dare I raise a concern, either I don't get a response and the concern is addressed by the skin of their teeth (just enough that i can't complain) or I get a long list of my shortcomings and how i didn't provide enough supplies for the job when I bought everything they said they needed from the list they provided. all in all, the food was good and probably we could have worked on the nutritional requirements with a little back and forth, but with the hostile communication style, it was not worth losing my mental health over. read more

Chef Harmony has been cooking for my parents for several years, and we can't say enough about Harmony's excellent meals. She develops a varied and nutritious menu and cooks it up in their kitchen every two weeks. Half is for the fridge ready to eat and the other is frozen for the last week. My parents get wonderful meals full of spice, protein, veggies and plenty of variety, packaged into glass containers for easy microwaving or heating in the oven. My parents loved Harmony's visits and her food, and their kids know my parents are getting a regular visitor and great tasting nutritious meals. My dad can't stop talking about it. read more

My husband and I have demanding jobs and have no time to meal plan. My husband existed on Door Dash. I ended up living off way too many hard boiled eggs, green smoothies, and door dash left overs. Every time we tried other types of meal services available my husband would outright reject it and go back to door dash and I'd try it, think it was ok, and then get very sick of it. My husband was really resistant to the idea of having someone meal prep in our home. He's very particular and likes the specific restaurants and dishes he likes and won't eat anything else. He told me we could try it but he thought it was a terrible idea. There were intake forms designed to learn exactly what our food preferences were. Mimi, owner/founder, then set up an zoom call with the chef she selected for us -Dakota! I felt Mimi and Dakota really listened to what we both like to eat and my desire to get us on a regular eating schedule with healthy foods. This is only the second week and I'm absolutely amazed at how well we are eating! I asked Dakota to make tweaks to cater more to my husbands tastes and she absolutely knocked it out the park. She also has such a great energy - it's nice having her in our home. Her food is so delicious and I'm looking forward to our next menu each week. My life just got so much better! I can just heat up healthy, delicious, professionally cooked/prepared food for lunch and dinner, easy clean up! It's so much better than the stuff we've been getting on Door Dash and it costs less than what we were spending combined on food too! We've been using this service for several months and generally it was okay. We had issues with reheating the meals to get chicken dishes fully cooked. With our last meal, the chef assured us the chicken was cooked and the dish just needed to be reheated. That night we heated the dish up and started eating it. About halfway through the meal, we realized most of the chicken was raw. We are hoping we don't get seriously sick but we can't trust or recommend this company. read more

Sage Home Chef has been a lifesaver for my family. My son requires a ketogenic diet for his health challenges, and Mimi was flexible enough to come up with customized meal plans that fit the requirement. The meals also come with macronutrient numbers, so that we can keep track of those. We are able to try new things, as well as repeat those that we really like. It is so satisfying and comforting to look in the refrigerator and freezer after a day of meal prep and see all those meals ready to go, without having to plan, shop, cook. The kitchen looks the same at the end of the meal prep day as it did at the beginning- so no mess to clean up. Sage Home Chef has been great for us. We have worked with them for several years now and have enjoyed several different chefs. All of them take our likes/dislikes/needs into account in their menu planning and cooking. They are a huge time saver for our family. I decided to try out a personal chef. I am so happy I did! Mimi was great at explaining the program and finding a plan that would work for my family. She paired us with Alli as our chef. The meals have been amazing! I am doing mostly plant-based meals. Alli brings the food in glass tupperware that I can reuse each week, eliminating all that waste. Mimi and Lauren are great to work with, but the most important thing is that the food is great, and they have been very responsive to my requests relative to our dietary restrictions and how we consume the food over the two-week period (some eaten right away, some refrigerated, some frozen for later). Lauren comes up with ideas for vegetarian casserole-style dishes that I wouldn't have thought of, and cooks wonderfully. You're paying restaurant prices, but you're also eating restaurant-quality food, you don't have to cook, and you don't have to clean up. The price is based on the cost of the menu planning, shopping/cost of food, and kitchen time. My first order took five hours' cooking time, and included a vegetarian lasagna that would have taken me three hours to prepare (at least), not to mention clean-up. Furthermore, the portions are so generous we are getting more meals than what is guaranteed, so the cost per meal is less than anticipated. We have been clients for two deliveries now, and have been thoroughly satisfied. read more
