I got a 60-minute massage, and she massaged my head so carefully, going over each tiny space with a healthy amount of pressure, especially around my ears since it is in the inner ear where vertigo problems arise. This place is pretty good. Their model seems to be providing space for various independent massage therapists to work. There was no receptionist, the massage therapist would meet me directly and do all the check-in, fee collection, and check-out and scheduling him or herself. Pretty efficient, actually. I tried a couple different therapists while I lived in the area and found one whose massage style I liked. You may have to try and couple therapists, I had another one for awhile who was NOT good (I was tighter after the massage than before - but I only went to that massage therapist twice). Making an appointment is relatively easy. I had bought a membership and was unable to use the last month and wanted to gift it to a friend and they were able to set that up easily (much appreciated!). The massage rooms looked at little shabby, but they were overall clean and the actual massage beds were fine. Very conveniently located, too. Easy parking. Solid massage place. read more

5 stars for Margie from Media location. Had a baby a few months ago and got a gift cert for massage from the holidays. I wasn't having any specific problem area just general tightness and discomfort from all the odd nursing positions I have to get in to during the night. Margie really knows what she's doing. I've had some awkward massages over the years (one masseuse from toppers even fell asleep giving me a massage once! He was working my neck and All the sudden I hear a snore!) but Margie was perfect-- not chatty like some and I just felt comfortable. And a killer neck and head massage to end with... amazing!! I have never proactively scheduled a massage for myself unless I was given some sort of gift certificate. After receiving one from Ian at Healing Hands Massage however I will be back again without question. For the most part I am unable to relax fully when receiving a message and by the time the masseur makes his/her way up to my oh so knotty neck I am quickly reminded of the uber fulfilling but stressful job that creates these pain body's & knots in my neck. Not with Ian! He had the perfect touch and was able to remove those knots in my neck with little to no pain! I was able to get through the entire session without thinking about work or what I "should have" been doing in that 1hr of peaceful bliss. . . It was all mine! Healing Hands was very easy & convenient to schedule an appointment. So easy they asked ME when I was available to come in. They had openings the night I called & scheduled. Denise is the best! I haven't had many massages (this was only the second time) because I usually don't feel comfortable with people touching me, but I'm sold now! I was expecting for my muscles to feel more relaxed and to alleviate soreness in my upper back, but it was so much more, almost an out of body experience. When I got back to my car, I had to sit there for 15 minutes before I felt like I could drive safely. It was such an intense sense of relaxation I don't think I would have made it home. After trying several local spas in the area, I was referred by a friend to HH. The facility is very clean and pleasantly appointed. The treatment rooms are comfortable and quiet. Best of all, every therapist I have worked with has been professional, caring and talented. I showed up and no one was even there, when I called they acted like it was no big deal. When I pointed out that they would have charged ME for less than 4 hours notice and for wasting their time, they said " oh we won't be charging you" ???? Really, how kind of you. From the reviews, I was expecting "great." What I encountered was mediocre at best. I went with a Groupon, and had made my appointment over a month ago in order to get the earliest appointment of the day (necessary due to my work schedule.) The first thing I noticed upon my (9am) arrival was the extremely loud construction work (drilling, hammering, etc.) I asked my massage therapist about the noise, and was told that it had been going on for over a month, that we were on the "quieter side of the building," and that clients were being informed of this when they booked their appointments (I was not.) She then asked me if I wanted to reschedule. Of course, I was already there, so this would not have made sense at that point. The massage itself was just 'okay.' I was getting a deep tissue massage (I paid a $15 upgrade fee beyond the cost of the Groupon), and before we began, I discussed with the massage therapist that I was there primarily for pain relief in my shoulders and neck. She suggested that we focus just on these areas for the 60 minute appointment, and I agreed. However, she was clearly not heavily experienced in deep tissue massage. Rather than 'working out' the knots in my neck, she would simply squeeze them between her fingers. And she didn't spend more than 5 minutes on my shoulders. Also - I have to say, this is the first massage I've ever had where I was not offered a cup or bottle of water at the end, along with the advice to hydrate. Instead, the massage ended quite abruptly. this past monday morning began for me with a tasty iced latte...and a pain in my neck. no, not a person driving me batty, rather a quite literal PAIN in my neck :( you know the kind of neck pain where if you inadvertently, say, breathe, the sharp sensation shoots up your spine and stops you dead in your tracks? yeah, let's just say 'ouch' is an understatement. after a day of popping aleve to no avail, i broke down and scheduled an appointment at healing hands to help ease my aching neck...and the rest of my body, too. while i am well aware that a massage was not going to provide me with an instant cure, i have had enough personal experience with therapeutic massage to know that releasing the built-up tension/toxins in my muscles could only benefit my situation - and it did. while i'm not 100% just yet, i am no longer in the extreme pain that i was before my appointment. that said, on to it! for starters, when i called around 2pm to make an appt for after work that same nite, i had no problems making my last minute request. i had wanted to see patricia, whom i had been to before, but she was booked until later in the evening, and i simply could not wait that long. i scheduled with someone else instead as they have a number of people on staff, and was happily surprised when i arrived at 5:30 that, due to a cancellation, patricia was able to see me. as a masseuse, she is strong, but gentle, and is able to really dig into the knotted up mess of my back. when it comes to massage, I like it rough! her voice is soft and soothing as she intermittently checks in to make sure that the level of pressure, table temperature, etc were all to my liking...and at times I definitely felt myself drifting off into happyland.... a 1 hour full body therapeutic massage (in addition to my neck/back, she also worked my arms, legs and head...aaah) is $75. this price varies both with appt length as well as intensity of the pressure applied. i also opted, for an extra $15, to have moist heat pads applied to my neck/upper back to help loosen up the trouble area before she began kneading the hell out of it. In addition to the physical benefits, the heavy heat felt quite amazing. the facility is not fancy, but it is clean, pleasantly dim in the private rooms and by no means a dump. the oils used on my skin had a wonderfully soothing aroma, and did not leave me feeling greasy afterwards. i was handed a card for $5 off on my next visit if I return within 30 days and will likely be putting it to use soon. read more

The receptionist commented a couple of times that the therapist was on her way. After waiting 45 minutes for the therapist to arrived I questioned what is her arrival time. The masseuse was wonderful always checking about the pressure, made sure to ask if there were any medical issues and if there were any specific areas that I needed her to concentrate on. I returned a few months later and received the same treatment. Months later I was experiencing back pain and between massages and acupuncture I was able to get rid of the back pain without medication. I am a vip member and plan on cancelling. I walk out in pain. I walked in with none. My neck and shoulders are killing me. I am sure it depends on the therapist but of my six massages with all different people all i can say is this not worth the money. The first three were okay but the last three were just terrible. My day is ruined as I can barely tolerate how awful my shoulders feel. I just don't think these therapists are very skilled No one asked me what I would like before they started. BAD BAD BAD. This place is for people who had a bad day at work and need a stress massage AT MOST. If you have knots, or anything else above stress, you need to go elsewhere. The "deep tissue" massage they offer is NOT deep tissue at all-they FAKE it. The massage people DO NOT LISTEN when you tell them what parts of your body need help. They CLAIM that certain staff members specialize in certain medical conditions and other specialties, BUT THEY DO NOT-again, they fake that too. read more
