No frills but still relaxing and professional environment. They always know what I need, I almost never have to say " more pressure " or "spend more time on my shoulders". They check in if they think it's too hard. They are just very skilled and intuitive. Please tip well! The base is affordable, so $20-$30 on a hour isn't out of the question. They deserve it. This place is amazing. I originally scheduled a one hour massage, but then extended to 90 once Anna began working on my body. She was amazing and thorough. I was a bit hesitant of trying this place because of the negative feedback, and I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and quiet the place, and how relaxing the massage I got. I'm going back next week. I can't recommend Anna enough. I usually tip people 20% at any business anyway since people who work in the service industry are usually underpaid and live on tips. read more

16 Aug. 2023 Note that I give the place a B+/A- for the quality of massage; an A for ease of making on-line booking (profiles of masseuses [with training certification] would be welcome) ; an A for price for quality; and a B for ambiance (and parking). First a disclaimer, if you want a eucalyptus-scented experience with high thread count bathrobes and slippers, Egyptian cotton massage table linen, and fresh fruit and cucumber-infused water while you wait or after, THIS is not THAT. (Or maybe this is such a place if you pay for a different type of massage.) This is much, much more accessible and affordable. I have no idea whether the woman who gave me my massage was licensed. When you book on line, there are no profiles or names of the masseuses. Instead, you choose male or female. That said, I had a 90-minute combined deep tissue back and foot massage. "Anna" was my masseuse. While she was not super communicative (I had to introduce myself and ask her her name), she was by and large professional, thorough, and really good with my knotty back. The back massage was accompanied by hot stones, deep tissue massage, hot cloths, and warm oils. The room was clean and quiet with background music but nothing fancy. You pay after your massage, so the ability to linger was nil. (I would suggest making payment before the massage starts so that the client can rest a bit and then get dressed.) It was not the type of place you lingered around after. As I was leaving, another client was coming in. Parking is at an adjacent lot next door, where the spots are shared with a nail salon and several other small businesses. The only (major) sour note is that when I tipped Anna 15% she let me know that most of her clients tipped 20%. I did not understand her at first. Then I did. I thought this was a bit crass and unprofessional. (I just checked on line, and another client [Yelp user: Legacylive27 P.] had the same complaint about being essentially asked to tip more. On line, the manager said she would remedy this, but clearly she has not. This should be remedied. Tips are whatever the customer wants to give, and a customer should not be made to feel bad for a tip.) In any event, I added to my tip, reasoning that the owner likely got the lion's share of what I just paid for a 90-minute massage and that Anna, who seemed to be in immigrant woman from China with little English, was likely living on tips. But, this blemished the experience for me. It was an excellent massage, reasonably priced, I got the appointment quickly, and my back feels 1,000 times better. read more

Wow, I actually hate to have to leave this review because for the past 6 months I have received an excellent massage; however, good things do come to an end! Today I had a 60 minute massage and I always give $10 tip (massage cost $70). The young lady handed me back my $10 and said "20% tip!" I wasn't understanding her and replied "oh it's on the website now that it's required to tip 20%?" She replies "no most people give 20% through Venmo!" However I was paying with cash and I always thought a tip meant "give money to thank them for their services." So I accepted my $10 back and decided to give NO TIP! I was embarrassed, humiliated, felt bullied and very disturbed by the abrasive rudeness because I always thought a tip was a tip and after someone tip you, you simply say THANK YOU! Sadly the other lady came out and tried to clean up the rudeness by saying people who tip with Venmo are forced to give 20% but since I was paying with cash the $10 was okay; however it was tooo late. I work hard for every dollar and cents that I have. I have enjoyed going to Meridian every month for my special treat to myself of a massage; however, my money is not welcomed and/or valued there and I would never pay money to be bullied and/or treated with disrespect. I am very grateful for Meridian. My entire body was stiff and sore and I was off of work early and needed a massage. Meridian was able to get me in last minute and it was incredible! My friend and I came here to get prenatal massages, which we had made appointments for ahead of time. They put us in the same room and seemed confused about the fact we each wanted a prenatal massage. They gave us pillows without any pillowcases that had been laying around the room, there weren't sheets on the bed. In general it didn't seem like a very clean situation. They had us lay on our sides facing one another, exposing our back side so one of us was constantly staring at the others butt. The worst part was the walls don't go the whole way to the ceiling, so you can constantly hear everything going on in the lobby, which was not relaxing. One of our masseurs was simultaneously running the front desk so she kept leaving in the middle of the massage to talk to people that came in, and she would leave the door open even though we were exposed in the room. The two masseurs in our room kept talking to one another. Overall this was the least relaxing and enjoyable massage experience I have ever had and I will never come here again. read more

I was really in need of a massage badly! It had been over three years since I had one due to the pandemic. During this time the place where I went for over 20 years closed. So glad I found Meridian in Bryn Mawr. I got a great deep tissue back massage and I feel like a new person. Can stand up straight again and walk without a cane again.
