It didn't work, of course I'm upset because both my wife and I were looking forward to something that we never got. They shouldn't be allowed to do business. I've been coming to Family Medical Center for almost the better part of a decade now. I am, for the…read moremost part, fairly healthy with room for improvement (especially dietary-wise). However, I don't typically have a ton of health issues that require ongoing and frequent care. That being said, in the handful of times in which that has changed due to whatever health concerns arisen, this practice has been pretty good about ensuring that I get the most optimal treatment or referrals to specialists for treatment possible. I've been very fortunate that my experience with this practice has been primarily a positive one. Though, I do take some gripe with the fact that we don't alway get to see our primary care doctors due to scheduling and usually have to opt to see a nurse practitioner in their place. It's not the end of the world, but it is common practice especially if something comes up prior to the traditional annual we receive. Beyond that, even with the nurse practitioner, I've still had really great interactions with ALL the staff that have aided in my care. So, for as long as I'm a resident of Orange County, I'll be keeping this practice as my go-to primary health care. I must note, that health is a deeply personal journey and it is not always the easiest finding health practitioners that are truly working towards ensuring that you are not only healthy, but that also seek to ensure you maintain that health (or help you get to that point). I sympathize with any and everyone, that have had negative experiences (even here - as my mom has been one to have a negative experience and no longer comes to this practice). I understand, that, as I a noted, I have been very fortunate that my care here has been very positive and I pray it remains as such. I wish nothing but positive journeys to all looking for a practice to call home for their health care. And if it happens to be Family Medical Center like it is for me, then so it is! And if not, that is okay because there are other practices and I wish the best of luck in that search. As a quick note, before I close this out, they do have two offices right next door to each other. Both have labs, so, if you need lab work, they can perform it in either office. It's pretty convenient. Their main office is larger but their smaller one, is newer. It was once a banking institution if my memory serves me well, that they eventually acquired and gutted to turn into a medical office building. Hence, their close location to the main office.

Plus, I wanted a practice closer to home as I was tired of the 30-minute commute. Based on the 4 and 5-star reviews I read, I decided to give this location a try. I was greeted warmly by the staff, and I stated I had both Medicare and Florida Blue supplemental insurance. The receptionist stated Dr. DeVoursney was accepting new patients. I also wanted to try a Doctor of Osteopathic given I'm in very good health and was looking for a physician that practices a holistic approach to healthcare and prevention, rather than treating disease or conditions. I was given an appointment date and various documents to complete to transfer my records to this location. On my second visit, I needed assistance in completing all the paperwork correctly. On this date, I got a 5-star employee named Shaquanda Sanders at the Front Desk. She was very friendly and welcoming and was quite knowledgeable on the paperwork process. She walked me through the questions I had, provided examples of how to fill out certain sections and was a joy to work with. She made me so comfortable and made the process a breeze. If Shaquanda is just one example of the caring and competent staff at this Center, I'm very much looking forward to my first appointment with Dr. DeVoursney in the Fall.

The overall standard of care that I've received has always been pretty good. I've never really had a bad experience. My mother has also come to this facility (as I believe so has my brother). We've all really had good experiences here. I went in last week for a quick consult before a routine endoscopy that I'll be receiving later this month. The doctor was kind, patient, and explained everything thoroughly to me. She went over my expectations/tasks as a patient to prepare for the endoscopy. I felt seen and heard. I left the office very confident that I would be in trusted hands. As far as the facility itself goes, it is a bit more outdated in comparison to some newer facilities; however, for the most part, it has a decent amount of seating. It is usually ALWAYS packed / busy. So, parking can get a little full; however, there is on-street parking all around. The facility is as clean as one can expect of any facility, really. All in all, I definitely appreciate the care I've received here and will continue to go here for any of my GI needs.

Instead, we were informed by the office manager that the appointment had never been confirmed on their end and that my father was being discharged from the practice due to an alleged no-show on 6/9 and rescheduled appointments on 6/26 and 6/30. Neither he nor I scheduled one, nor were we ever informed of one. - On 5/30, he was hospitalized at AdventHealth East Orlando and was later transferred to PAM Rehab Hospital in Winter Garden, where he remained through 6/13. He was physically unable to attend, or even be aware of any appointment during that time. - It turns out the 6/9 appointment was made by AdventHealth during his hospital stay without our knowledge or consent. - I called the office on 6/26 and 6/30 to reschedule due to my father's recent hemorrhagic stroke, which has left him with significant daily challenges. At no point was I told of a rescheduling or cancellation policy, nor was I warned that his status as a patient was at risk. I was simply given a new appointment for 7/2. To then arrive and be told that his appointment was unconfirmed and that he had been discharged, with no prior notice was shocking and deeply frustrating. The communication breakdown was unacceptable. I strongly advise against seeking care from this office, especially if you or your loved one is living with a disability. Managing a disability is hard enough without the added stress of poor communication, indifference, and a lack of compassion from a healthcare provider and their staff.

I recently started my infusion therapy at IVX health and have to say that this is the best infusion center for my needs! What I love about it is that you get your own private suite with a nice recliner, TV, and wifi! They offer a variety of free snacks and beverages as well. The facility is clean and the receptionist and nurse are fantastic. Also, this location has plenty parking! However, they are only open 2 days a week for now but that could change in the future. I had nurse Alex on my first visit and she was so friendly and attentive. She made sure I was comfortable by checking in on me every 30 minutes throughout my 2 hour infusion. If you do need any assistance, there is also a call button in the room that you can press as well. If you are looking for a peaceful environment to get your medical infusion, definitely check out IVX. On their website, they list what insurance they take and the process of how your doctor's office can authorize IVX for the treatment. They also list the medicines they can infuse. Before you can even start the infusion , they make sure your insurance covers the treatment so no surprises which is great! I am so pleased with IVX and so happy to be getting my infusions here!
