It's not as easy as one would think to find a vet that clearly goes in depth and the extra mile when examining your pet and recommending a course of action. Dr. Maja spent a great deal of time with us and pointed out many things that other vets just glossed over and didn't address. Just running a blood panel and finding nothing means that further exploration needs to be done; something the other vet didn't even venture towards. Simply 'liking' your vet isn't enough. KNOWING that they have the knowledge, expertise and the initiative to go further than a quick visual scan is vital. Pets are family members, wouldn't you want your human family to have the best medical and preventative care? Port Moody is a nice drive on a sunny day. The waiting room area is a bit cramped. The staff are friendly and very caring.

Kado my 115lb German Shepard/Bloodhound cross and I have been seeing Dr Maya for almost 14yrs. She is very talented as both a traditional western trained vet as well as exploring all possible holistic alternatives to provide the best possible outcome for her patients. We recently have had to treat Kado for pain due to age and muscle atrophy in both his front and back end. We were able to extend his life with compassion, the acupuncture treatments along side anti inflammatory and pain medications have provided Kado a HUGE improvement. He is happy and his energy is back. We are so grateful for any additional time we have together pain-free!! We love Maya and would recommend her genuine caring to any animal and she is kind and compassionate to the humans too!!

I'll start with the good:…read more It's a very clean clinic, and if you call first thing in the morning when they open they can usually squeeze you in for an emergency appointment. The bad: They are very over priced!!! Every time I have ever bought in my cat or dog the bills were always considerably higher than all my previous veterinary visits over the years, but I continued to use them out of convenience being close to my home. I took my dog into get spayed today, the Veterinarian called me to go over the procedure cost prior to starting as I was never given a formal quote. My dog is a small chihuahua (6.5) lbs, so not a lot of anaesthesia required for her spay, she also had a tiny umbilical hernia they previously said they could fix at the time of spay while she was already under anaesthesia. I could not believe when the vet told me my bill was going to be $1000-1200!!!! He told me their prices were comparable with other vets in the area, but that didn't sit right with me so I decided to get a second opinion. The first vet I called less than 5km away quoted me HALF!!!!!!I immediately went and picked my dog up. When I arrived I told the receptionist what the other vet quoted and said this is not comparable pricing, this is robbery. She just rolled her eyes at me. Then the Vet walked out and had the Nerve to try and argue with me and say he never quoted me $1000-1200 on the phone when I had the numbers in front of me. I wrote down his prices in my note pad as he was discussing them with me over the phone, now he's trying to say he quoted 900-1000 on the phone, which is a lie. I told them I will not be coming back. I asked for my patient file emailed go to another clinic, he wrote in today's notes that he quoted me 950-1050, his number keep changing and regardless they are still overpriced by $400!!!!! ****DO NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING OVERCHARGED****

Then she started to add unnecessary treatments and my dog just had an allergy and needed some antibiotic cream! My bill came out over $300.00! Untrustworthy, deceptive, disrespectful, and happy to lie and take advantage of people…read more I had an emergency with my rabbit and couldn't go to my amazing local vet so I called Eagle Ridge and asked if they had a vet who was experienced with rabbits. They told me they did, but Dr. Ong was in surgery and could see me at a certain time. If she was not able to get out out of surgery I could like my rabbit and she'd see him. When I made the long trek to this hospital they put me in with some absolutely random vet named Dr. Yip, who just had some business cards with his name hand written on them...and introduced himself to me 3 times. This inexperienced vet spoke down to me, had no idea about the most basic things to do with rabbits, and made me feel like I was incompetent (look in the mirror, Dr. Yip!) I complained to the main desk and they lied to me and said all along I had an appointment with this random person who I'd never heard of before. I have no confidence at all that this hospital knows how to deal with patients and rabbits, despite Dr. Ong supposedly being experienced with them. There is no way I would have wasted my time and SO MUCH MONEY (they seriously overcharge) to take my rabbit who was having an emergency to such a far place to be seen by someone who is so completely clueless. I don't know why this place feels like they can take advantage of people and be so disrespectful. No wonder their clinic lobby was completely empty.

I check it out and as we had experienced this before; it was only grown enough that it was putting pressure onto his pad. The skin was not broken so no worries. But I don't have the right tool to clip it when it's like that so I call the vet. They get me in right away, great. Before I even get home (10min) they had already called to say he was good to go, that it hadn't broken the skin and there was no infection blah blah blah. They ask when will I be there to pick him up and I tell them 10min. I head back to get him. Because of Covid I call when I arrive to say I'm there, but the lady puts me on hold for 5 min (checked my call time), after the first couple of minutes and seeing all sorts of staff milling around I go up to the window while still on hold. As the staff disperse I see one in the back finally pick up my call. I tell her I'm here to pick up my dog and she puts my back on hold! For another 5 min!!! I just hung up because honestly they can see me outside waiting at this point. So the lady brings out the debit machine so I can pay and they charge me $104!!! to trim his nail!?! I question it as I've only ever paid abut $25 before. She tells me because the Vet looked at him that is the cost. I'm furious at this point. But calmly say I already knew everything was ok I just needed the nail trimmed. She says well the dr did a check up so that's the cost. I said I didn't ask for the vet to look at him. And she just shrugs. I don't pay I don't get my dog back. I could have bought the tool I needed and done it myself for that much!
