This past weekend, I took the Reiki Master class with Kristin Reed of Healing Reiki Brooklyn and it was extremely enlightening. On the first night of class, I left feeling overwhelmed and thinking, how am going to remember all of this information in 3 days (Friday night, All day Saturday, and Sunday)? Kristin Reed, the Reiki Master, broke the information down in segments where it was so much easier to absorb. We practiced and we practiced. Her teaching style encompasses patience, non-judgment, caring and humor. It is in my nature to ask a lot of questions, and believe me, I asked them of Kristin. She answered them all honestly, gave examples (in most cases, real life situations) to where I walked away feeling that I understood. Her knowledge is extensive and she shared with us an abundance of resources. We received Reiki Master Manuals, along with a smaller easy to go to guide. Besides the actual Reiki Master attunements, we learned how to perform Aura clearing, how to clear crystals and so much more. Kristin also extended to us, a welcome to return when needed. On June 2nd & 3rd, 2018 I had the pleasure and privilege to learn Reiki 1 & 2 with Kristin. I read the reviews and they were great but actually being with her, in the class, surpassed any expectation I had. Her energy is so light and reassuring, and her approach to Reiki is no different. She brings real world experience to the table and gives great examples throughout, without going off topic. She's also extremely patient with questions - another huge plus. I came to Kristin somewhat skeptical, but open-minded. I'd been suffering from waves of anxiety and self-doubt that left me feeling 'stuck' and sad much of the time. On the outside, things were going 'okay' but not great. Kristin helped me realize that I was holding myself to impossibly high standards, and that by obsessing anxiously over my inability to achieve perfection I was actually doing myself more harm than good! Since that session, I've felt 'unstuck' and have been clear and open to recognize and jump on new opportunities. Kristen has helped me out a lot and I really appreciate it how much time and effort she puts in to helping me feel better. I am in a wheelchair and before I met her I was in a lot of pain, and any relief I could get did not last. Kristin has turned my life around and is wonderful to work with. She is kind and supportive, and always willing to help. We started doing Reiki together during the epidemic so it has all been done remotely and we have only been doing it for a few months but despite that it has been tremendously effective. I believe it continues to be because I do it every week. I feel much better than I have in years! I have been to big doctors and they tried everything and prescribed me all types of medications and painkillers, but to no avail; nothing worked. These doctors and specialists even had a large board meeting where they discussed what to do with me. Sometimes a particularly strong medication would work but it would have side effects and would only help me temporarily. I always ended up in the same place; in pain and frustrated, and upset that nothing was working. It is amazing how she was able to turn my life around and make me feel like a human being when no one else could do it. I was 41 and a half weeks pregnant and starting to stress about the possibility of medical induction when my husband suggested I have a Reiki treatment to try to get things moving.
