My brother was a resident at Marbridge for 48 years. He began as one of the most independent residents in The Village, leaving in 2022 when he became more physically disabled due to medical issues. They provided a modern, clean living space, transportation to his work, cooking classes, supervised grocery shopping, and adults available at all times. In 2022 my brother moved to The Ranch as he could no longer physically navigate The Village campus. The Ranch staff loved on him, making the transition much easier. At this point, he fully transitioned to campus life, rather than a working world schedule. They provided an array of classes, with each resident having 3 classes per day. Staff filled in with special activities during class semester breaks. Finally, my brother had further medical issues and moved to The Villa, where there was more access to medical support and services. Once again, the staff had smart suggestions to help this transition and were always willing to work through any rough spots which might occur. Supports at the Villa included an on-site physical therapy team, around the clock nursing care, a PA on site full time, a dedicated doctor, a social worker, as well as daily planned activities. Marbridge was a life long blessing for both my brother and my family. The management's mission of caring for residents doesn't exist. The residents are bored but staff doesn't care. It is easier to not do anything. As an RT, if you try to help a resident you are told by the director there is no need to. The hardest part of the job is not being able to befriend, help residents. The cottages are not upkeep. The food served is terrible. The residents need assistance in basic care to look clean, shaved, groomed. They need guidance. I left because of the management lack of support in wanting to assist the residents. Feels more like an institution than a community. They seem to keep parents away and tell residents not to tell them anything. I cried too many times to stay working at The Village. You need to either not care to work there or the staff will hate you. read more

I cannot recommend the Village at Marbridge. Although the facilities are very nice the management of the Village is subpar. As far as I can tell they have no credentials or actual training (degree (s)) pertinent to this population. Your loved one may decline. Instead of moving toward more independence your loved one may lose skills and experience neglect. It is very difficult for an individual living there to report issues to outside agencies such as police or anyone else who might be able to help them. I have witnessed individuals who fear management and caregivers. I have seen them demeaned. I know of stealing by staff who are supervisors. I rate them a zero. Look elsewhere. read more

After working at the Village at Marbridge for over a year, I can honestly say that I would be very resistant to placing my own family members here. I can truly say that the employees that care and do the heavy lifting, matter very little to lower and upper management. I expressed my concerns to Shae (assistant director) and the same concerns were brought to the attention of Tracy (director) on multiple occasions without being addressed. In short, favoritism towards people that have worked there for years and years is apparent. My weekend supervisor, Sabrina, would on many occasions treat employees as if they were second class, Calling and checking over and over during the workday while clapping at and insulting employees. On top of that, Sabrina would send RTs out to pick up her own personal food orders that had nothing to do with the residents or rest of the staff. On several occasions, Sabrina and another employee by the name of Cindy would take prizes that were intended for the residents and take them for themselves and their families. This was just the beginning as Cindy would often change the daily activities because she simply didn't want to drive that far in traffic. In short, the way the residents and employees that spoke their mind were treated was one of indifference at best and retribution at worst. I often caught them talking about how certain drivers deserved to be fired or certain residents were annoying them. These words and actions are not acceptable of caregivers in their positions, yet they have been allowed to continue to "care" for these residents without any course of corrective action. It is a state of complacency that Tracy, Shae, and Sabrina have continued to encourage and refuse to correct. After working there for over a year, and leaving, I can honestly say that it has been a rush of relief and happiness since I've left. The food they feed the residents, activities they expose them to, and rules they are subject to are borderline neglectful and abusive. Again, I would not place my family here and if you are considering working here, just consider the fact that I saw employees come and go on a monthly and sometime weekly basis. The turnover is extremely high and anyone who has any voice to speak up for the residents get shot down immediately. There have been instances of supervisors being rude and biased against LGBTQ workers and turning a blind eye to residents that have specific sensory deficits. It is so sad the way many residents are treated here and rather than empowering employees that care about them, the management continues to make excuses and push the people that care out while retaining the toxic employees. On one occasion when I had a one hour long conversation with a resident, my supervisor actually teased me and called me names. I was shocked because I actually thought this was a part of the job that was beautiful. Many of the residents have so many stories and experiences and unheard feelings. Rather than being commended or recognized for this behavior, I was teased and made to feel bad about such behavior. Again, I cannot stress how sad many of the residents lives are and it all trickles down from management. A lot of them stay silent or deny any issues simply because they don't want to "lose privileges" or be yelled at by the supervisor. I truly hope that someone considering this facility reads this and reconsiders sending their loved one here. This is a facility that would rather focus on the cover of the book rather than the words and stories. Horse barns and new street lights are built while the kitchen staff work with limited food budgets. Seeing a resident try to swallow one the most dry chicken breasts known to mankind was a difficult sight to see. How did I know it was that dry? I personally tried to eat it myself and could barely swallow it. I could speak for hours and hours about the horrors of Marbridge but it wouldn't do it justice. For the family members that come to pick up their loved ones, make no mistake that the supervisor (Sabrina) and some of the workers talk very disrespectfully about you as you are walking up to sign your child or family member out. Right when you walk in, they will turn on a smile and greet you with the most fake greeting they can muster up. My only regret is not leaving earlier when I lost respect for management, certain coworkers, and the overall philosophy of the organization. Tracy and management have taken a very interesting philosophy when it comes to who to keep and who to let go. She'd rather keep employees who steal money from the organization\residents and fire employees who need rest after back to back 16 hour shifts. They also turn a blind eye to neglegent talk and homophobic speech. The training Tracy gives is almost laughable. read more

I used to work there years ago. They really care about the residents and have a lot of things for them to do.

I went to this place a couple years ago and spent 6 months in the dorms and 2 years in the village and it was absolute hell. The staff treat residents horribly and they lied to my parents and I. They told us they were teaching independence so I could eventually live on my own but they did absolutely nothing that was productive to me. Classes were a joke and didn't teach anything. Before going to Marbridge I was able to take care of my own pills and had a car I could drive myself around in. I lost all of that independence when I went to this place and became completely dependent on the staff to give me my meds and drive me places. Not only that but whenever there were issues between residents, the staff did absolutely nothing about it. Some male residents touched female residents inappropriately and received no real punishments. I was so glad to finally escape this place after 2 and half years and after leaving my parents got me ACTUAL HELP to become independent. If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would. read more

Our son just loves all of the people at Marbridge Villa. This month marks one year living at the Villa. It's not like home and he misses Mom so much but we are blessed to be close enough that he comes home every weekend. He is so fortunate to have family to visit him, and be very active in his life and care. Marbridge Villa employees love him so much. He calls home on his iPad so we get to visit daily. Love love love the villa, my grandfather was a resident there who passed away in 2007. The faculty and staff is hands down wonderful, they take the time to get to know the residents, what the residents like and dislike and the residents family. They're helpful and always willing to answer any and all questions you might have. The activity directors plan a whole lot of fun things for residents to participate in if they wish to do so. The volunteers are also exceptional when it comes to working with the residents on the activities they have planned. I definitely plan on volunteering more read more
