Hi, My name is Shynell. I used to go to doctor Sly from when I was 19-21 (I am now 37). His office deals in family wellness & prevention, which is exactly what he did for me. I have always had a "bad back" or should I say back pain. Going to Dr. Sly has prevented further issues with my back & has maintained it's movability & it's health. When I had to move it was hard leaving the kindness, educational, and heart of Dr. Sly and his team. Moving to Alberta, I didn't quite find any chiropractor to do what Dr. Sly does (I was in AB for 12 years). When I moved back to Ontario, I could not find him. However, I persisted for three years and found him through a work picture on Facebook with the name of his new practice. I called to find out if they were still in Canada and they said yes. After receiving treatments from Dr Sly for several months, I developed severe back pain on my spine at the 2 locations where he applied pressure during treatments ( just below my shoulder blades). When I complained to him, his response was first, no pain/ no gain. When the problem worsened, he told me to apply an ice (difficult to walk around with an ice pack strapped between my shoulder blades). It has now been more than 1 year since I stopped; and I still experiencing pain in this area. I am now waiting to see an orthopaedic surgeon to see if anything can been to elevate the permanent damage Dr Sly has inflicted on me. Don't trust this individual!! read more

I attended this clinic for approximately 2 1/2 months until I developed a severe sprain to my upper spine directly where a pressure point was being applied by the Chiropractor during each visit. When I complained of the severe pain I was experiencing I was told "no pain no gain" or "just apply an ice pack". Since I was attending the clinic for the express reason of resolving pain in my hip & lower back, the application of this pressure point (adjustment) on my spine between my shoulder blades didn't make any sense; but unfortunately I followed the Chiro's advise. His treatment protocol for most aliments is to apply pressure in a ramming motion to various parts of your spine and shoulders followed by a quick side to side jerking motion to your neck! As time went on, the pain became worse to the point I was not able to work. I had never experienced pain to my upper spine/ shoulder blade region. I stopped attending the clinic and informed first his staff members then the Chiro directly what had occurred. When I told him that I believe his over aggressive treatment was the direct cause to my severe back pain, he told me that it was normal that I may have developed a "simple rib subluxation" and I should come back for yet another adjustment. I received a couple more sporadic text messages a few weeks later suggesting that I should return to the clinic for additional treatments. Based on my personal experience I do not recommended this clinic as I am still to this date experiencing pain in the same region. Treatments are in my opinion overly aggressive- applied in a one size fits all fashion. Potential patients beware! read more

I've been receiving chiropractic care from Dr. Sly since 2011. I began care uncertain and nervous about a treatment I didn't really understand but his explanation session and the warm and inviting atmosphere in the office put me at ease. My original reason to visit was pain due to a car accident. I had tried many treatments by the time I got to Dr. Sly and nothing was helping. After I started adjustments not only did I feel better, but I soon realized that the benefits of the wellness care plan would also help with my migraine, tension and sinus headaches, IBS, overall discomfort and sciatica pain during pregnancy. After only a few months of treatments my troublesome lower back was no longer an issue first thing in the morning. Also noticeable was my improved balance when skating. When the recent pandemic caused a shutdown, I could notice a regression. Upon returning recently, the improvements were noticeable quickly. Fun place to visit. The staff are simply the best. I am a healthy 30 year old female, I have never had any back/neck trauma that I can recall. I just have constant neck pain that escalated when I began working at a desk in June of 2017. I changed my pillows, mattress, had my work station assessed and altered to better address my posture. Nothing helped. July 2018 I was referred to Health for Life Chiropractic through a co-worker. Just over a year ago I started experiencing really bad migraines that would sometimes last me up to a week. I had also been experiencing neck and back pain for several years. My friend suggested that I make an appointment with Dr. Sly who he had been going to for a few years. I agreed to getting an examination done and once I got my results I started my adjustments with Dr. Sly. At first I was extremely skeptical but figured that due to being in so much pain, I had nothing to lose. I started in May 2017. Since starting I have not experienced any migraines. I am getting better sleep at night and am generally in a better mood. All the pains I would feel on a daily basis (head, neck & back) have improved in ways I never imagined possible. This facility as a whole needs to be replicated by every clinic. I have been going to this clinic for approx. 3 yrs now and I can say with confidence that the standard of care that is provided is off the charts. Now to be clear this is not a rehab facility, but through the years I have entrusted my health with Dr. Sly and have had success in recovering from my injuries at a significantly faster pace. He has given me tips and pointers to improve my well being entirely. During my initial assessment, prior to any adjustment he ensured that I was educated & understood why chiropractic care is absolutely essential most especially if you put your body through vigorous daily work. With the constant adjustments my body has reached its ideal state where in I am happy to say I am healthy! I have referred my family members along with close friends because I feel the need to share what an impact he has made in my life on a personal note.
