I strongly advise against shopping at Health Max Pharmacy. They overcharge items by up to 20%, sometimes charge for products you didn't even purchase, and some cashiers have been caught stealing--especially with OTC cards. Many customers, not just me, have noticed the same issues. The staff can also be rude and disrespectful to clients. I've witnessed other customers experiencing this firsthand. Save yourself the trouble and your money--your OTC funds won't go far here. this place overcharges the elderly in the community with their outrageous price gouging go in to the store and compare prices you will see. I remember a time that they was about to go out of business and OTC saved them and instead of working with the community they prefer to get over on customers senior citizens. Ok so here's the deal with this pharmacy and I would know living in the area for many many years. The pharmacy section is great if you need your prescription filled and never had any issues on that part. Matter of fact they filled a prescription for my grandson which he much needed this for a test that had to be done on him and the bigger pharmacies couldn't do in that note we all have diff experiences. The eht program well here's the facts many people go here because the owner lets you get what you need even though he's not supposed to but gets away with it. So the people in the community come here because they get what they want and probably at a higher cost. They know this and still come here and can't blame them if they don't have to buy it with funds elsewhere. Now as far as the staff goes they can pull the sheet over certain people's eyes cause they know or think they know who and how to treat people the way they think they can. My friend's mom got treated like shit a by a so called store manager or asst not too sure but he was let go so You figure it out. I guess cause the family came looking for him so staff be kind to the customers cause you don't know what might happen after. This place can get in trouble for certain things but needless to say you be the judge. read more

Please do not shop at this place. My 83 year old mom receives govt help with her cleaning products and she bought a simple mop for 16.99 plus taxes! Are you kidding? Why would you sell a simple mop for such a high price? I tried to clean it as much as I could!! I wish I had returned it now that I'm taking care of her. Was there today and the customer service I experienced was horrible. The clerk that "took care" of me up was eating cereal and chit chatting with the other clerks. She never gave me my credit card back. When I returned they asked me for ID (I'd to get my credit card back but not to make the purchase. Does that make any sense? ) and I never got an apology. Be careful if looking for compounded medications. My first call to compound a medication to replace one I am allergic to, this pharmacy said they had the ability to compound the medication, and I should fill out their prescription fax form to begin the process. When I called again with some questions about their fax form I was told patients are not allowed to use the prescription fax form. Then, I was also informed they are not even able to make the med I was told 5 days ago they could. Then they tried to give me the one I'm allergic to. Thankfully I know the generic name for that medication, or I might have been in big trouble. read more

I work across the street from health max whenever i need to get something i just go here. Pretty convient and cheap IMO. Yes there is a rite aid and duane reade a few blocks down but every store has it's own deals that's why there are so many right ? I rather go to health max than rite aid or duane reade since i think it's cheaper. the cashiers here are the worst though they are unhelpful and they just tell you the wrong aisle for things. hahaha. read more

Health Max is a solid pharmacy. The fill prescriptions quick and staff is decent. Be forewarned though: They have a weird practice of giving you an IOU on your prescription, ie: if they don't have enough to fill your prescription, they will give you an IOU for what they owe you. If that doesn't bother you much, go here instead of the nearby Duane Reade. They've got more issues there. read more
