After taking the order, the staff said they couldn't make the juice. Fine; we agreed to one smoothie split into two cups. Instead, they overfilled two cups. At the register, the owner tried to charge me for two smoothies (nearly $12 each). I explained we only ordered one smoothie to be divided. He looked at the cups and said they were full, so I had to pay for two. That's not how ordering works. If he had half a clue, he would've investigated further instead of immediately trying to squeeze the customer. He didn't. He then took one smoothie away from my daughter, said he'd divide the other, went into the back, came out with an empty cup, handed it to me, and told me to divide it myself. After the bait-and-switch and then adding insult to injury, I finally broke down and called him an M.F.; though frankly, that's too generous he is really just a low-life POS. He responded by calling me a cheapskate and telling me to get out (in front of my kids). For the record, both daughters also bought other items in this already overpriced store. This wasn't about money. It was about refusing to be taken advantage of. Maybe this kind of conduct flies somewhere wherever he is from, but it's not how business is done in the U.S. or in Westport. And last I checked, the basic rule still applies: the customer is always right, especially when the facts are this clear. Plenty of better options nearby (GG & Joes has better smoothies!). Walking into this place I met Steven the owner. A very psychedelic and knowledgeable man. He was friendly and polite. He answered all my questions regarding personal health. I got a smoothie and he added some things that he didn't mention, but it was well worth it, it was delicious. I walked around and noticed the place wasn't the most organized, but everything he sold was related to personal health and enlightenment. This place has been in Riverhead for awhile now. It's a little hard to miss, however you can see it once you've entered the shopping center. Family owned and operated since 1987. Think of Whole Foods, much less busy, not a whole lot of rushing (which is a good thing) and you take your time to browse around the smaller store. The quiet and calm was cool, for a Thursday evening, not too shabby. We came across a lot of products we haven't seen before. Great options from a vast majority of gluten free to bring your own containers for pasta to help reduce waste. Plenty of signs to look at and read what we can do to be proactive with our bodies, lifestyle and the environment. I loved knowing this was a smaller scale. I've seen a lot of incorrect info on Yelp, but this one is ridiculous. Yes, this Whole Foods Market is in Westport, and they sell pizza along with many other foods, but "Westport" and "Pizza" are not part of the name. Not sure how someone mistakes a a supermarket for a pizza joint, or how Yelp moderators miss this mistake. Shouldn't be difficult to detect and correct problems like this if you had a few clankers on the team. Also, the hours are completely wrong. See my photo of the doors with hours listed.
