    Barnes & Noble

This beautiful new store is a great addition to the charming downtown area of Mt. Kisco. It still…read morehas that new store smell and there are great sections that are clearly arranged so whatever you're looking for, you can find. The cafe is nice with terrific staff. You can enter from the front (on the side facing the train station) or the back. If you need books, stationery, music or anything related to Nook...this is the place to go. What I really liked is the local recommendations. If you know some books you like, you'll see recommendations near those books for other things you might enjoy. Additionally, I geeked out on the local history books they have (right by the cafe). If the trains of Westchester are of interest to you, or anything historical from the area, there are some wonderful (and affordable) books for purchase. So glad to have a community space like this to help make the shopping district even more vibrant.

Decent Barnes & Noble location…read more This is one of those modernized locations, but not big overall. The selection was standard enough, but not as plentiful as other locations if you're just looking to browse. There are entrances/exits in both sides of the store for ease depending on which side you're coming from. If you're someone who likes blu rays/DVDs, this place had a very limited and small selection - which is better than none at all I suppose. I didn't encounter any staff, but they seemed to be busy with other customers. The general area is a little busy, with plenty of shopping options. Parking is metered street or a municipal lot. I suppose it's okay for locals looking for a quick fix or looking to order something, but I personally have no desire to come to this one again just for this store. It's not a knock against this location at all, but I'm not local and it's not worth going out of my way to come here for this alone. If you want to go to Barnes & Noble and can drive a little farther, I'd recommend going to the Mohegan Lake location (if traveling north), which is about 20-30 mins away. It's a much larger store with more options. Otherwise this one is okay.

On an annual trip to NYC, I decided I would visit bookstores and take in all I could. B&B was right…read moreby my hotel, and I was delighted to find a comfortable room full of baseball memorabilia and a great variety. They specialize in 19th and 20th century English and American literature, which means you're going to see a lot of titles you're familiar with. I stopped in late in their day, so I wasn't surprised to be the only one there, but the team gave me space, answered very basic questions I had, and - gasp - LET ME TOUCH THE BOOKS. This is far from a stuffy environment, and when I finally convince my partner that I need that very expensive piece that has F. Scott Fitzgerald's music for Princeton, I know exactly where I'll go.

Well, 45 minutes later, I was still oohing and awing at the marvelous selection of first edition books they have to offer. This is the largest selection (aside from corporate-owned Bauman's) of rare books I've seen that include the dust jacket- a collectors actual dream. It's the biggest breath of fresh air to find a rare book store owned by a woman, and to be treated like a human being. I normally get side-eyed from rare bookstore owners and some of the conversations I've had sound like: "May I see the Portrait of a Lady in the case?" "All of these books are at least $100.00 and up." ".....I know." "Do you have any Wilde?" "The book about the woman hiking alone? That's too new to be in our shop, Barnes & Noble would have it." "I'm talking about the 1800s poet." "Oh." I take it personally because while I look like a millennial who doesn't know what she's talking about, I treasure my rare books like they're my children. Sunday stayed AN EXTRA HOUR at her store while I looked and answered all of my questions that I had, never making me feel rushed or unwelcome. After selecting a first edition Fitzgerald, she wrapped it in bubble wrap for my travels back home and gave me an updated book with all of the rare book sellers in the country.

Every deadline was hit (critical when you're on the clock to get wedding invitations out!) and edits were turned around quickly and seamlessly. Team Ceci was moreover happily and graciously able to roll with every address change and additional invitation I threw at them (and there were many). I must thank our outstanding account manager, Lindsey, in particular for so swiftly and cheerfully accommodating our every request. The designs Team Ceci turned out for everything from our invitations to our menus, escort cards and more were all just stunning in and of themselves (I'm still drooling!) but also, beautifully and flawlessly coordinated. Not to mention that their calligrapher does some of the absolute best work I've ever seen! I can't recommend this outstanding group enough and look forward to future celebrations so I will have the opportunity to work with them again!

From my acrylic save-the-dates to our more formal wedding invitation and to paraphernalia in-between (cigar liners and matchboxes and cocktail napkins, etc.) CECI New York can do it all! And ON TIME. The team is very responsive, kept to the schedule and made me, as the bride, feel calm every step of the way. I'm still getting comments from guests about how special they felt to receive something so awesome in the mail!
