The issues I've had here are with the staff. After coming in for my first appointment I was told that Dan would call to schedule my next appointments. I didn't hear from him. I finally called and was told that he was waiting for a script from my doctor and authorization from my insurance. I told him I had a script and we went round and round on the next step. I finally called my doctor and had them fax it over to them. Then I waited some more. It turns out my insurance now required authorization to continue. I called them and found out they had authorized it so I called back again to let them know. I finally was able to schedule my next appointment but 2 weeks had gone by. They also had a staff shortage going on so even though I was authorized there were no appointments available all week. My insurance only authorized it a limited time frame. Then I went on a planned vacation so I lost another week. My next appointment was with a young woman who did not seem to understand my issue - she had me do exercises that were really painful and did not help. The next few days I was in so much pain I could hardly move and had to add a knee brace which wasn't even an area that hurt before. I finally went back in and saw Dr. Janu and told him what had happened. He did a great job with appropriate stretching and exercises. The bad news? MY TIME WAS NOW UP with my insurance approval. LOL So they have to re-request additional time to continue. I don't really trust their front office staff to do it in a timely manner - so I doubt I'll get back in before the end of the year.

To make matters worse, I was hosting a birthday party the coming weekend and had so much to do. I was trying everything to get back my mobility... stretches, cbd oil, back roller, mobility ball, ice, heat, pain cream, rest, but nothing was working and I was in tears from desperation. It can be a frightening feeling when your freedom of movement is slipping away before your eyes. I didn't feel comfortable driving the car and could barely bend down at all. I had to do something or cancel the party, so I found Dr. Burr's reviews here. I'm not really a chiropractor person, at least I wasn't, but I liked that they relied on teaching exercise treatment therapies as well as adjustments, because my other experiences with chiropractic seemed like they were a repeating RX for more and more visits. I wanted a solution and things I could learn to do for myself. I also liked that he had a relationship with Applied Fitness Solutions, (AFS) where I have a membership and who I trust. Mitch was so compassionate and nice on the phone, and is so nice to work with. God bless them, they got me in the same day and I was able to start implementing the exercises Dr. Burr showed me right away. He explained my issues so well and was very personable but so clearly a professional. He really understood where I was at and knew what to do. I also purchased a lumbar pillow that helped train my spine to return to where it needed to be. I appreciated that they didn't push the purchase of this hard, and showed me how I could also use a towel, but I have to say the pillow does the job so perfectly, is comfortable, and doesn't slip that I'm really glad I bought it. It definitely made a huge difference in my recovery. It turned car trips into therapy. Two days later my pain had so improved!! I had a follow-up visit this day and Dr. Burr expertly assessed my progress and told me what to do to take my recovery further. I never imagined I could feel this better this quickly. I did the exercises frequently and they strengthened me and corrected the problem. Dr. Burr did give a great upper back adjustment as well. I'm still amazed at how fast I improved. Dr. Burr said that early treatment was key to bouncing back so quickly. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I just need a few more visits... not perpetual visits! I'm functioning and mostly comfortable. I'm so happy to share this as my success story! The party is tomorrow and it's totally happening, and I'll be able to enjoy it fully! My husband was amazed as well when he saw how miserable I was (my family had to do so much for me!) and he is going to see Dr. Burr for some back pain he has been struggling with for a while. I had a membership to this gym back in April to May 2018. The first thing that attracted me to it…read morewas the price. I've actually connected with this gym via Instagram. Whoever ran its account followed me and remained active as far as liking my posts and commenting. I really appreciated it and because of it, I've paid a visit and signed up. The first day, the employees were helpful and seemed very welcoming. I've signed up and the fee at the time was $35 a month. It was something that I could get with. I started going to the gym at least every other day around 6 a.m. because it's usually empty and I would get enough exercise in without worrying about being around others. It was cool for a minute. Then one day, due to the fact that I had be elsewhere earlier in the day, I've decided to go around noon where I know plenty of people were going to be around. When I walked in, I flashed my membership card so that no one can stop me and try to ask a million questions. The employees all had this weird look on their face. It was a look of "Who is he?" and "Does he even belong here?" You could cut the tension like a knife. It felt as if the record stopped once I walked in. Anyway, I walked straight to the locker room to get into my workout gear. No more than 2 minutes later, one of the employees, or who I believe is the owner, came in behind me. He walked around the locker room for at least 30 seconds. Then he pretended to use the bathroom because the urinals are right there as soon as you walk in. I didn't hear anything nor did he wash his hands, so my b.s. detector went off immediately. I've proceeded to go upstairs to begin my workout. However, 10 minutes later, I packed it all up because it was fresh in my mind. The next day, I called to cancel my membership. I had to pay an extra $35 for the next month, but I couldn't get down with what I felt, in which I believed that I was a target of discrimination. And even if it wasn't direct, I'm sure if I've stayed longer, it would've happened. Several times prior to going to this gym, I've called and the owner, I assume uses his private phone, answered. Each conversation felt very dry and he didn't even show no enthusiasm towards a new gym member. I had to get out of it quick because other than getting myself together, I would like to feel welcomed. Gyms are usually places where bonds are formed through the shared love of fitness. Here, it felt like I was a ghost...one who was visible, but unwanted.
