I was visiting Mobile and had a very difficult time guest dosing at their methadone clinics. I went to the ER and asked for help. I know it is a federal law that ER;s are able to dispense methadone without having a special license. I felt I was stereotyped and my civil rights were violated by denying me medication. Myself coming in to be seen, people coming in after us are being seen as before us. Waiting for at least three hrs after them testing my son at least four people were seen and discharged before he was ever called to the back. Than stated his results were positive for flu and strep. As if our concerns as blacks aren't important because it was whites that came in after us and were seen and discharged. Than nurses excuses are we don't have any room or ambulance have came and brought patients in. So the three four people that came in after us was able to be seen and let go.

Three hours later my wife went to ask if we needed to come back or wait to be seen by doctor. Doctor who was responsible for looks at MRI results said he looked at my MRI and he was 90% sure I had a ruptured disc and needed to be operated on. We stayed in ER waiting for another 5 hours without being called to see doctor or be admitted. During that time I watched at least 8 other people, who I was there before them, be admitted. I read that with my ruptured disc that I should not sit extended amount of time. I thought 12 hours of sitting was more than enough. I told the nurse I couldn't stay any longer. They said they were sorry and must have lost my diagnosis. I left.

WITHOUT INFORMING THE PTS. OR FAMILY MEMBERS. I came in at around 11 PM Friday night due to severe bleeding shirt, pants, shoe covered soaked in blood. Severe bleeding related to anti plaities took for pain in recent MVA. Stayed six hours and left at 6 AM due to not being seen!!!!!! stayed in waiting room violation of Nursing standers of ABC, air way, breathing, circulation. I have a BSN from accredited university and am knowledge of nursing and standers of care. I was wrapped with an ace bandage too tight and never assessed me or examined my wound by anyone. Given socks, pants to change in after requesting several hours later. IV placed but no fluids to replace lost fluids why? Bathroom was open several times exposing my nakedness to visitors', staff, and patients in waiting area as tried to wash blood off my bottom legs, and foot my complaints about my nakedness view was ignored. Was nice enough to provide blanket, pants, socks. I repeatedly requested for an MD and when would I be allowed to have an MD. stated didn't know but have a large bill from a MD. Wasnt triaged correctly now wound is infected and swollen and couldn't properly be evaluated by a doctor per rule of ABC. Never allowed to have ice pack for pain and slow bleeding after requesting and stating could receive one. I refused the CT scan as cause kidney, heart failure and increased risk of cancers several years down rood. Contrast can cause a MI ie heart attack in the CT machine as I have had too much radiation in my life. A MD is to diagnose, treat, and order scans though medical boards license. The internet stated more ERs or ordering CT scans with contrast dyes for increased revenue and profit but never informing patients of risk. Nor informing PTs of amount of radiation given as all radiation is additive. Every PT received contrast dye CT scans even the PT with a panic attack. Dissatisfied treatment and have witlessness to this unfair treatment denial of being seen by a license MD. USA has purchased nighty percent of the Hospitals and Physicians offices in Mobile for profit. They receive nighty percent of revenue from the indigene care fund run by the County commissars. Which is in millions of dollars by oil leases in gulf. They receive state, federal, tuition from students and is considered a Hill Burton facility.

Room dirty most of time. Workers left dirty linen on floor for hours until I kicked it into doorway. Medical equipment such as tape and pill cutters dropped on floor and left for days...what does housekeeping do ? Pain meds often an hour late for terminal patient with great amount of pain. Social worker excellent. She was the only person who could be consistently counted on to get anything addresses.

Temps were taken at entrances, and they gave you hand sanitizer to use before moving forward into the building. Elevators are limited to 4 people at a time. My appointment was with Dr. Hanes. He was very personable, excellent bedside manner, and very thorough. He didn't make me feel rushed, he talked slowly and made sure I understood what he was explaining to me regarding the next steps we had to take in my treatment plan. I felt very comfortable with him. I'll update the review as I continue with my care here, as I have multiple procedures/tests to do soon.

USA Health Strada Patient Center is a state-of-the art medical facility with several physicians and…read moreservices located in one building. They have a lot of doctors who accept Tricare at this facility that's why I came here. My physician Dr. Perry is located on the 3rd floor here. You can get x-rays, mammograms, Orthopaedics, Oncology and Pediatrics all in one place. There is tons of parking but on any given day the lot can be full. All the staff seems friendly to me. I love it here and will continue to visit my physicians located here.

Also for one of the bills, I asked the biller when I should pay it off and he said whenever so I didn't rush. Next thing I know it's at collections. So I immediately pay it off as well as another bill still open. Now they just called saying I still have that other bill. It's like they have 0 communication amongst each other. After 3 weeks of increasing and adding medications as prescribed by my NC neurologist I went to USA University Hospital ER and was subsequently admitted for 4 nights for pain control. At this time I made the decision to have Microvascular Decompression via keyhole (2 cm) craniotomy with Dr Jai Thakur. Best decision EVER! I did not realize how much of my quality of life was gone; either through medication side effects, TN diagnosis, or avoiding TN flares. I am only a week post op and my greatest risk currently is incisional infection which is minimal at this time. I have several rupture cervical discs which has made recovery a bit more challenging but once this issue was addressed in addition to some occasional incisional pain, I have been basically pain free!! For the first time in 14 years! As a retired ICU RN from a 1,000+ bed hospital in NC, I became apprehensive about several additional tests to verify information that initially delayed surgery for more than 24 hours. But then I realized I had to respect and appreciate the thoroughness Dr Thakur and his team displayed. I feel so good that I want to initiate conversations about cervical ruptured disc repair!! USA University Hospital is lucky to have such an amazing & talented physician practicing in Mobile, Alabama.
