Chicken entree with noodles (instead of rice) and garlic and lime
    Donyiel C.

I was not a fan. I ordered the chicken entree with noodles and the lime/garlic sauce on the side. The chicken was very dry (tasted overcooked). The noodles were ok but kinda stuck together. I'm glad I picked up some siracha sauce on the side - only saving grace. The customer service was great and I really wanted to like this truck, but I didn't enjoy my meal :(

After a long shift, had to hit up a good ol' food truck. It was a man and a woman running the show, with the man cooking. There was no long line and the woman recommended the grilled salmon platter. I could have gotten it with rice noodles but I chose the jasmine rice. It took up to 10 minutes for my food to be done. It was well worth it. I loved the vegetables in the platter and the salmon was cooked to perfection.

They visited my hospital at children's national, so I decided to try them out. I loved their shrimp tacos. Enough flavor and crunch with each bite only to leave me satisfied. I would definitely try other options on the menu, but the tacos are a great starter if you haven't tried out this food truck before.

Grilled vegetables over egg noodles with soy sauce & Sriracha

I didn't bring much for lunch today, so I checked Food Truck Fiesta and looked at the menu for Healthy Fool, as it was the only Ballston food truck that appealed to me. I ended up with summer rolls and grilled vegetables over egg noodles (and not eating my homemade lunch). The summer rolls weren't bad, but I thought the hoisin sauce was a tad too sweet. The noodle dish was great. I got their homemade soy sauce to go with it, which was really flavorful, and mixed in some Sriracha. I could smell their pho broth from down the street, so I'll return to try that. Healthy Fool tweets, but does not have Facebook or a website (as far as I could tell).

The shrimp taco jr comes with cucumber, cilantro, cheese, sautéed green bell peppers, onion, fresh carro and their famous sauce.

One of the pros of working close by the state department is having a variety of options for lunch with all those food trucks parked on Virginia avenue. Last Friday was the first time I saw this truck and because my friend and I wanted a "healthier" lunch we chose healthy fool. Definitely don't regret getting their shrimp tacos. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and their light sauce was the perfect combination. Also, props to heathy fool for tricking me into eating cucumber. This of course is not a bad thing. I don't like cucumbers but it's one of the ingredients in the shrimp tacos. I couldn't even taste it until my last taco when I saw it peeking out but by then I didn't mind and just continued eating it with the rest of my taco. The only reason why I give it 4 and not 5 stars is because of their shrimp entree. My friend ordered this entree and I saw her struggling trying to remove the skin off the shrimp throughout our lunch outing. Maybe they could serve this entree with skinless shrimp especially if a lot of the people buying it at this location don't always take the food back to their cubicle and tend to eat outside.

    Grilled Chicken Breast Entree

I wasn't too crazy about my grilled chicken breast entree from this truck. Maybe I just expected too much but it turned out to just be your average teriyaki-style grilled chicken dish. The chicken was the best part of the meal. It had an interesting bit of seasoning coated around it and was cooked nicely. From there though, it pretty much went downhill. The gourmet soy sauce tasted okay, but I really didn't care for the consistency: it was more like a goop than a sauce, which made it difficult to disperse throughout the dish. And the vegetables were disappointingly just your standard grilled veggies, nothing special about them. They were all okay, expect for the spinach which I tried to avoid. Overall, it seems this truck offers large portions at reasonable prices albeit for relatively forgettable meals.

I was very disappointed with the place. I've come here for pho that was good but I was super let down with the food I ordered today. I ordered the Chicken entree with jasmine rice and veggies. The chicken was super dry and lacked flavor. I only paid $9.90 but I felt like I wasted my money and time. Won't be back

Grilled Chicken, rice noodles, vegetables with lime garlic sauce.

The DC and NoVAs food truck scene has a lot of delicious, but rather unhealthy, options to choose from for lunch. So, Healthy Fool is a nice addition to the mix serving up Vietnamese inspired food at reasonable prices. Today was my first visit and I was torn between the spicy Bún bò Hu soup or the Grilled Chicken Platter. I decided to try the latter since the soup is a recent addition to the menu (though it did look great). You have a choice of rice, rice noodles, or butter noodles with the platters and they come with a grilled vegetable mix (broccoli, cabbage, spinach, carrots), then your choice of soy sauce or lime garlic sauce. The man and the women running the truck today were super friendly and all smiles. My order came up quickly and was a large portion for my $9.90 total charge. I was hoping to get a bottle of water with my meal but was informed they only serve iced coffee and strawberry lemonade. Isn't water the "healthy" choice? The dish is served over noodles, topped with the grilled vegetables, and then finished with the sliced, lightly seasoned, chicken breast with our choice of sauce on the side to do with as you wish. Overall, I would have rated this truck a solid four stars, except for a significant detractor - my food was cold. The rice noodles were served ice cold on the bottom, with the warm veg on top, the chicken was barely lukewarm (though I did see it go on the grill). The heat problem was then only compounded by the cold lime garlic sauce. The rice noodles would have benefited for a quick dip in boiling water and the chicken a few more minutes on the grill to ensure that the whole dish was hot. Final verdict - good food and a fairly healthy choice. I will return to try the Pho and/or the Bún bò Hu in the future and will update my review accordingly.

Love this food truck! Had two great experiences with them. Firstly, I would like to say thank you for coming to Children's Hospital for our Tasty Tuesday and Food Truck Friday events! You have no idea how grateful staff and families are that you come a provide such excellent food. Getting food to this area can be stressful due to the long waiting, how expensive delivery can be, and drivers getting lost. If anyone trying the truck I would recommend the shrimp tacos (taco dada style) and the beef bun no hue.

    Taco dada. 3 for $10.

I had Healthy Fool at a Food Truck event. The line was long as crap which is probably to be expected. It was one woman taking orders and a man cooking. Tacos were served on flour tortillas, I believe they needed to be warmed a little but luckily it didn't break on me. The chicken was slightly dry but at least they didn't skimp on the chunks. The slaw was great, you can tell they shave the carrots themselves because they were irregularly cut. The sauce on top was good too. I wish they covered up the menu items that were no longer available before we got to the counter though because we had to change our order. It was a little too cold for a pineapple slaw.

Healthy Fool is a food truck in Ballston. I had pho, and it was delicious, with perfect broth. The serving was huge and I had the leftovers for lunch the next day. My only suggestion would be a few more fresh sprouts/basil etc to add to the soup, but that's a minor detail. The two guys running the truck were friendly and helpful. The smells coming from that truck, yumm! I had been wanting pho for a while and was so happy they were there. Check out the uploaded photos of the menu. I'm glad to have this option when in Ballston.

The name is deceiving as I would've never guessed this was a Vietnamese food truck! I decided to try the beef Bun Bo Hue. Confession: I've never had BBH before :X But Healthy Fool's was absolutely amazing! I finished the entire contained, which is pretty rare for me. I also got an order of the summer rolls, which were mediocre; I'd pass on this next time. Their ice coffee is a must try if you like Vietnamese coffee. The coffee jelly at the bottom is an extra delightful treat :) So glad I finally discovered Healthy Fool! I will be back for more Bun Bo Hue or possible Pho next time!
