It was recommended to me so we decided to have dinner in Arlington. - Pho Bo - Lemongrass Chicken My friend loves the Lemongrass Tofu as her vegetarian option so she decided to try the Lemongrass Chicken, however the taste was not as good. The pho was served with the slices of beef fully cooked in the broth, but I prefer the meat to be slightly raw. Finally visited Nam Viet Restaurant for lunch. A friend of mine raves about this place - so I wanted to try it out. It's a bit of a cruise for me from where I live, so I combined it with a couple of other visits in the general area. After looking over the menu - I already knew that I was going to sample their Pho Ga. The menu only lists one size - so I went with that. The Pho Ga came out in slightly less than 10 minutes. The plate of aromatics was fresh and in fine fettle. I first tasted the broth, then added in all the accoutrements. The noodles were slightly clumped, but I teased them out of the clump. The chicken broth had a slight hint of sweetness. Most of the chicken was tender - but I had two pieces that were tough and chewy. Overall, a good bowl of Pho Ga. Every 6-8 weeks, I come here for one thing and one thing only: Can Tho Crispy Glazed Baby Back Ribs. The meal is pretty simple, but so delicious: deep-fried baby back ribs coated in a sweet and salty fish sauce glaze. The ribs are always served piping hot, paired with a bowl of jasmine rice. The sauce is so good, you'll want to dump the entire bowl into the fish sauce glaze that floods the plate just to sop up every bit. Service is always very fast. My friend took my here and I was so shocked that I've never been here the many years I've been in the area. I can't speak for parking, however it's at a really convenient location as it's only a few steps away from Clarendon metro. I have street parking anxiety so this made me happy. For starters we had the appetizer combo, for my drink I had the passionately yours and a coffee on my way out, and for my meal I was recommended the favorite crab meat and sausage fried rice. So what did I think? Loved the drink. I'm not big of a drinker but once in awhile I like to have a cocktail. The passionately yours was the perfect amount of sweetness and lightness. I hate overly sweet cocktails because I get a terrible headache the next day. I thought the appetizer had really good portions. The crispy spring rolls reminded me of California style. I'm Vietnamese so I love the different styles restaurant makes. I love that they didn't skimp on the garden rolls. I noticed that since Covid a lot of restaurants had to cut back and unfortunately the garden rolls became smaller in size (regardless I love them so much I order it when I can). It was also great that my friend didn't like them so I got to eat them all to myself. For my entree, although you wouldn't think much of a simplistic dish, I really enjoyed how it was seasoned. I asked for it to be spicy and it was perfection. Don't look down on homey suggestions because I find that sometimes they're better than intricate dishes. In an area with many great Vietnamese restaurants, this is my favorite. My family has been dining here (and getting take-out) since the mid-1990's and the food has remained consistently great ever since. The staff is always friendly and attentive. My go to orders are the fresh garden rolls with tofu and either the Grilled Chicken with jasmine rice (the chicken is served on wooden skewers) or the combination fried rice. I also like the lemongrass tofu with mixed vegetables and the crispy spring rolls. My wife and kids also love the Pho Bo (Beef), the Grilled Beef with rice vermicelli. My only gripe is that they close at 8p on Fri/Sat. Other than that, this is an excellent restaurant that I highly recommend. read more

The sampler appetizer far exceeded my expectations as it was better than most Vietnamese food I've had recently. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and I'm so glad I finally picked a wonderful night to go. We were a little worried because at first it wasn't too busy but overtime the crowd started pouring in and the to go orders were piled on the table. The main star of the show that we had was the fried rice. Wow! I've never had fried rice that was so flavorful. I asked for it to be spicy and they really did deliver that. The atmosphere is OK, not your typical in and out pho restaurant, would I take a date there? If I'm in a pinch. Onto the pho, the broth was made well, better than most but not the best in the area. The brisket was non-existent but the most concerning part was the meatball, it tasted very odd, possibly going bad. Price was on the higher side, would I come back? Probably not, would I recommend? No, honestly I would spend an extra 20 min to go to Eden center, you get much better food for a better price. P.s parking is very limited, bring coins for parking time. read more

My wife ordered a Pho, but it had egg noodles like you would see in a typical ramen, and the broth was not a typical Vietnamese Pho broth. However, once again, it was good, so no complaints, just not what we were expecting. It's more of a fusion dish. My two suggestions would be to add images to your menu. I think more people would order items they typically would not if they knew what it looked like and secondly PLEASE clean the walls by the tables. There was food and sause splattered all over the place right next to where we were eating. Not very appetizing. So I had to go to the restaurant myself before lunch time to see if I can make a reservation in person and I was easily able to. I think the reservation process is a bit confusing and not sufficient. BUT, the food was amazing! The portion of their meals is deff worth the price, in my opinion. We ordered so many dishes not one dish disappoint.
