This place is very bad. The wait time is incredibly long, especially on days they're not even busy? 3 staff workers on duty I guess and they need a minimum of 2 hours with 1 patient, jeez. The doctors are so lazy. I've came here with my kids to get referrals to go see various other specialists, and the doctor ends up forgetting and leaves this whole annoying process for us to have to keep calling and reminding them to do their job. Unbelievable. The staff are just not very friendly either, and very unprofessional. The literal receptionist still wears a mask in 2026, sorry miss but Covid ended 5 years ago lol. And her desk and the wall next to her is littered with multiple LGBTQ flags, terms, and pronouns. I'm not a conservative by any means, but that's not the way to welcome people in by any means, let's get some new staff at the front desk shall we? They always seem so pissed off about doing their job? Why do you work here then lol. I think the DMV workers are a better experience and those guys are brutal. Overall I'm just really disappointed with the services here. Sure it's a kids pediatrician place so maybe it's my fault for the high expectations, but they need to clean up their act here and actually do their job for once! If insurance companies didn't require referrals and other stuff from these doctors, we'd never go here. Other specialist places are so much better and professional. I took my daughter here for the first six months of her life, and honestly I couldn't get her out of there quick enough. Front office staff is so incredibly unfriendly, unwelcoming, and unhelpful. I feel like just your arrival is such an inconvenience to them. The providers are very subpar and I always left there thinking that I do not want my daughter to grow up in such an unfriendly atmosphere that she knows to be her doctors office. I took my child here for several years, and honestly don't know why I continued going there for so long. Their front desk staff aren't friendly, or empathetic. The nurses are okay. Dr. Lindgren is condescending, and unbearable to be in the same room with. Major disappointment anytime he was the only one available for an appointment. He gives out terrible advice on infant sleep, and seems to have zero tolerance on vaccination hesitation. He told me from the get go that my child can not be a patient if we don't follow a strict vaccine schedule. I am pro vaccine, but my child has had bad reactions to vaccines on multiple occasions. I continued to vaccinate on a delayed schedule. I didn't like feeling the vaccination pressure from Lindgren to hurry and get up to date or worry my child would be dropped as a patient. This is the overall vibe about Lindgren's approach on vaccinations. I also didn't appreciate being lectured about my child's health. He's made rude comment about my child and other patients. They have a terrible late/no show policy. Life happens, kids get sick and appointments get cancelled same day for said reasons. Why should I feel worried about not bringing my kid in when sick, for fear of being dropped as a patient? We switched to Olympia Pediatrics and OMG they are AMAZING!!! Night and day!!! I can't believe I waited so long to switch!!! Literally all of the doctors, nurses, and staff are extremely caring, nice, empathetic, playful with the kids, have great bedside manner, take time with the appointment to address any concerns and make sure you feel confident in the assessment and plan before they end the appointment. 100% recommend Olympia Pediatrics! read more

We just moved to Washington from out of state and wanted to set up a pediatrician for our children. I called to book initial appointments and they were booking out almost 2 months. It was comparable with other offices in the area so once I verified they took my insurance we booked the appointment. In the interim we had a child health issue. When I called the office and told them my child hadn't been see there yet but we were new to the area and I was looking for resources to call, the receptionist stated they could not help me - could not even refer me to any local resources, because my child had not yet been seen there. Ultimately I found what I needed through calling the hospital who referred me to a few local resources. Finally, the kids' appointment arrived and while filling out the paperwork the office staff told my husband they 'technically' accept our insurance but are out of network. Unbelievable! The cost would have been $400 out of pocket. In an attempt to fix their mistake they called our insurance and got the insurance company to agree to cut the out of pocket by 50% but we were not going to pay $200. Now we will have to wait another month and a half to get the kids in somewhere, and in the meantime I have to take them to urgent care when they get sick. I am so disappointed in how this office interacted with our family. Whether they were deceptive or careless in advising me that they accepted my health insurance, that in combination with their refusal to simply provide me resources in the community for a child health issue. This administration needs training, my review is negative due to poor administration and customer/patient communication. read more

We have been coming here for 5 years with both of our daughters we had not had any issues until we had our nanny we hired. The nanny had into the missing 2 appointments unknown to us along with hiding our child's medication , We got the issue resolved kids have been back on appointments with no issues we Have missed one appointment due to a calendar being not updated with a new phone provider and now are told that we cannot come back after 5 years of taking our daughters there this is completely unacceptable. I love Healthy Future Pediatrics! Dr. Carl Lindgren, Kevy Wijaya, Tara E. Tumulty and Katie Sheahan make a fantastic team. Everyone came through for my son. He was born with kidney issues and has been seen at Healthy Future frequently during the past 2 months. My family has always been treated respectfully and our concerns have always been listened to. We have appreciate it because his first months have been scary and stressful for us. The reception staff is great too! All of the ladies are friendly and extremely helpful. The ladies are always cheery and polite. If an issue is emergent (but not life threatening) they will be sure to put the child at the beginning of the queue or will say to bring the child in and someone will see him/her. In addition to all of this--all of the receptionists helped my kids get switched to a different (and better!) medical insurer. One gal even helped adjust our baby seat when it became very loose. Healthy Future Pediatrics has no problem faxing medical records to another provider on the same day if needed. I have heard compliments from our son's urologist about how swiftly he received the medical records. My daughter's speech therapist also mentioned she always gets needed documentation promptly. Other great things about Healthy Future Pediatrics: - Walk-In hours Monday-Friday: 7:30 to 9 am -It's open until 7 pm Monday-Thursday -It's open on Saturday 9 am to Noon -Dr. Lindgren answers the phone during on-call hours My daughter enjoys: -The lobby mural. -The fish tank. All of the fish are identified in a binder located near the aquarium. All of the fish have names. -The books in the waiting rooms. Started using this pediatrics office after moving up from California. I love it! My daughter is 9 months old, and she's been seen 3 times here (2 routine visits, one sick visit). I love the walk-in hours early in the morning, and that they're open on Saturdays. They also have weekday hours till 7pm! We've used Tara Tumulty for our well visits, and she's been FANTASTIC. The front desk staff and nurses are all very friendly and helpful. I love the new building, and my daughter likes the fish tank in the waiting room. :) I also really like that they use CHADIS - I'm an online kind of girl, so having that available makes me really happy. read more

When our oldest son was born in 2001, we interviewed doctors as the birthing class instructed us to do. However, neither of us had a clue what to ask a prospective pediatrician. We met Dr. Lindgren when he was working at a previous practice. When we sat down to talk, we said we were interviewing him, but really didn't know what to ask. He took the initiative and guided the conversation asking about my wife, the pregnancy, any issues or questions we had. We immediately like him, and decided to choose him as our pediatrician. Since then, we moved around several times, and our now 3 kids have had several different pediatricians. When we moved back to Olympia in 2012, we sought out Dr. Lindgren, found Healthy Future Pediatrics, and brought our kids there. Dr. Lindgren is without question the BEST pediatrician any of our kids has had. The nurses and nurse practitioners are caring, compassionate, and very involved. They willingly answer questions, including those that our now 14 year old son asks. read more

I loved this place because the medical assistants were so great with my child but the last few times we've been there they have been horrible. The one that has the deathly hallows tattoo is the one we get every time now, she is so rude and gives off the vibe that she doesn't like kids and I feel like gets annoyed with my not even two year old. if you get annoyed with my child for crying and flailing all over the place because you didn't poke him in the right spot to do lead/iron check and had to stick him more than once maybe you shouldn't work with children. As a medical assistant myself she has no bedside manner at all. They need to re-evaluate their medical assistants, I can see why the amazing ones left the practice. Not a good place to take your child. They mislead you on your insurance and OVERCHARGE based on industry norms. We informed that we wanted our child to have a circumcision. It was scheduled for past the 30 days as per health care payment; Healthy Futures (?) fully new what we wanted. They manipulated the system. Now we have to pay out of pocket for his procedure. I will take my bill to them or the media and share the experience with social media. The staff misleads and does not keep patients informed, they state, "it is your responsibility to know your benefits." I new them and they purposely mislead us. our son was seen a Couple months back for symptoms that matched an ear infection. Medical staff confirmed it was an ear infection and prescribed us antibiotics for our then 7 month old. Fast forward two months and 3 back to back ear infections later our Dr. Told us that none of the antibiotics are working and our son needs to be seen by an ENT so they can resolve the problem. they told us wait for a call from the ENT. Two weeks later no call. I personally call the ENT and they tell me no referral was sent. My wife and I were waiting for a call from the ENT that was never going to happen. Let that sink in. The medical staff that saw our son that day also said his ear drums looked like they were going to rupture With how swollen they were. I write this so HEALTHY FUTURES will hopefully read this as well and for all current parents and future parents pay close attention to the medical staff who are there to take care of YOUR children. My wife and i are very disappointed with this and our son has been dealing with this for almost two months and sadly he will have to endure for a little longer than expected. My first visit felt thorough and I felt like they were careful to prevent cross contamination. They knew my previous Family Dr well enough that mentioning his schedule was enough to tip them off that I was His patient!! That felt GREAT. I already felt I could trust them on that bit alone. I am not happy with my experience I had with my child at Healthy future pediatrics. The provider, Kimberly Stonerock did not seem knowledgeable in the issues we were dealing with. She has seen my son over 7 times since December, and had helped diagnosed him with ADHD. She had the audacity to ask if he had been tested for autism, after this long overseeing his care! This is a vital piece of information she clearly should have known. My son has been screened for autism 3 times!!!! I could see her googling things, and just seemed to be making things up and trying to confirm them with google afterwards. I did not feel confident in at least 50% of what she was saying. During the doctors visit we had yesterday my son was being corrected by me to calm down as he was over exerting himself dancing and shaking, this causes him to overheat and become VERY sweaty. The provider told me that "it was fine and to let him get his wiggles out" My son has ADHD and "getting the wiggles out" is never possible. I explained this to her and that I was concerned he would overheat himself as he did earlier in the day and drenched himself in sweat, she spoke over me and told me that it was FINE and to leave my child be. This was inappropriate, it was stepping on my toes as a mother and my decisions on how to parent my own child and it will NOT be tolerated in the future. The communication side of things are very poor as well. Being told that your office does not have the man power to help my son and I find him a psychiatrist after waiting weeks to hear back for a referral has truly upset me. Dr. Lindgren personally telling me that I need to "do the work myself" instead of helping provide any resources as a very exhausted mother of an special needs child was the kicker. I really like Dr Lindgren and have taken my kids here for years. But his staff has gotten ridiculous. The only NP I liked was Tara, but she is now gone. The last time I took one of my kids in, we met Melissa. She was rude and down talked me and could care less what I thought. Patients have a right to choose their care. You don't get to tell them they are wrong and there is only 1 way of doing things. Most of all, you don't get to treat people like that. So it is good bye to this office. read more

We love Katie Sheahan. She is so good with my kids. We had a terrible ordeal at group health that prompted us to leave them. My kids were terrified to see the doctor again. I was told about Healthy Futures, and gave it a try. I will NEVER again take them anywhere else. My kids have been pretty sick a couple of times since we joined Healthy Futures. After moving to the area and having my kids here for about a year, I have chosen to leave and take our kids elsewhere. Here's my reasons why... 1) I am hardly ever greeted with a "Hi, I'm Dr. So and So..." or with a hand shake. Almost every time I've gone in (and I almost always have someone we haven't seen before...another reason for leaving) they enter the room and barely say a word. They just start asking questions while they stare at the computer. Very limited interaction with me or my kids to make them feel comfortable. 2) On several different occasions the person seeing us has not been dressed appropriately. Several of the women have had low-cut shirts and then they're leaning over my 4 year old son...No thanks. I don't want your chest in his face or mine. Last time I went, one of Doctors was wearing flip flops. I don't care if it's casual Friday or not, this is a medical facility. Please wear shoes. 3) Every time I've had to get medical records or immunizations records from them sent somewhere else, they never arrive on time to the place I am needing them, even though they say they'll be there on time. Kind of frustrating. 4) They play Top 40 songs and my kids are picking up EVERYTHING they hear. So, when a song with words "hell, damn and ass" comes on the radio while I'm waiting for my kids to be seen, doesn't make me super happy. I should be able to come to a place where my kids can be safe and where I don't have to get in the car and explain to my son why the Doctor had her chest in his face and why we don't say those words. It just seems very unprofessional, with a cold bedside manner to me. We have had one really great experience with Maggie (if I remember correctly) who followed up with us consistently with calls when our daughter had to be hospitalized. Besides that, I always leave frustrated with the fact that we weren't treated better. Very happy with our new care and never plan on coming back here again. read more

We were denied referrals (that were specifically requested & admittedly needed), based on our insurance, even after explaining that cost would be covered out of pocket & up front. Multiple attempts to pursuade my 14 year old to take a medication that he and I both were uncomfortable with. I felt bullied, unheard, and unappreciated as a guardian. My concerns were not addressed but pushed aside instead. We left this practice the same day & will never recommend to others. Received the exact care we requested at a new office without any hassle. read more

After moving to Olympia from out of state and looking for a pediatrician we chose this practice. Big mistake. We were given information on several occasions that was incorrect. When my 2 year old went in for a cold they told me it was likely rotavirus, despite the fact she had none of the symptoms. When I needed a referral to a dermatologist for my toddler I was referred to an office in Pullayup and told that office would call me to schedule-- when they never did I ended up calling them and they had no record of my referral. When I called about a medical question my call was not returned. When I asked to see the doctor instead of one of the nurse practitioners I was treated rudely and when I did finally meet Dr. Lindgren he ended the appointment by telling me if I preferred to see him over the nurses then I should go somewhere else! My concerns were not ever addressed. Thankful that we found care elsewhere. read more

Healthy Future Peds is unique among the pediatric practices in Olympia. They have real people that answer the phone (imagine that!) and a real provider that answers the phone during on call hours. They have real office hours including evenings, Saturdays and early morning walk ins. They also place a lot of focus on prevention rather than just fixing the symptoms in front of them. I have 2 children and I can honestly say we LOVE our pediatricians. Our children also have unique names and after 3 years at another Oly Peds practice, they still never got his name right. Healthy Future often has us checked in before we even get to the front desk because they know their patients so well. I am so happy we found Healthy Future Peds and I would recommend them to anyone in need of a high quality, caring ped practice. Now, if I can just find an adult practice that is as good. read more

Healthy Future pediatrics is not a safe place to bring your children. They failed to inform me that my infant son was dropping his weight curves for five months, waiting until he was in the tenth percentile. After talking to other parents about this experience I have heard multiple stories of them administering the wrong vaccines at the wrong times. They are not supportive of breastfeeding. Dr. Lindgren and his staff always take good care of us. Our kids have seen Dr. Lingren since they were babies and we wouldn't go anywhere else. The office is very nice and kid friendly (we especially like the aquarium). Dr. Lindgren is very conscious about being eco-friendly and he and his staff appear to be well educated about newer theories. They always give us time for questions and, unlike many doctors, they never seem rushed. My boys actually like, rather than fear, making the trip to the doctor. I think that says a lot. read more

On 2/1/2018, We saw Melissa Covalt, ARNP and was completely disgusted with the service she provided my child. She came into the room and did not introduce herself and did not pronounce my child's name correctly. I corrected her but she felt that I was rude. She had already decided her diagnosis prior to even assessing my child. Secondly, she was shaking and pointing her fingers at my son and speaking to him very rudely. I am not sure how she gets away with this kind of behavior. When I confronted her about the behavior she proceeded to argue with me. Never in my life have I met a healthcare provider like her. She seems very incompetent with her skills. I watched her assess my child and was not pleased. I asked if they could do orthostatics vitals to determine if my child was dehydrated but she would not take my recommendations. She is not a great or a good listener at all. I typically love ARNP's because I feel that they have great bed side manners but not this woman. This facility had some awesome providers at one time but not true at this time. I challenged her behavior and spoke to the office manager. It took the office manager a very long time to come see and she had many accuses. Prior to her coming to see me, I walked down to the hallway to see what was taking so long and I caught this health care provider and her nurse gossiping about me. Anyways, they basically told me to not return to their clinic. I wonder if I should report this behavior to DOH. I am a health care provider myself and I would NEVER behave this way towards anyway. Please for your children's sake do your research and be a informed consumer. read more
