Very unassuming, no frills or thrills type of place. I've been lax in my self care recently and was in dire need of pain relief. Had some kinks in every area of my body from my neck to my shoulders, down my back and into my hip. I've also tried all sorts of therapy for my arm but it's still not healed after 7 months. Saw lots of reviews for Connie so I gave it a shot with the 90 mins pain relief (with medicine oil) and cupping (+$10). She is indeed strong which was exactly what I needed. I usually have to ask my other masseuses to go harder but not Connie. She did check every so often to make sure I was ok and if she needed to ease up on the pressure. Very surprised when she stepped on my back like a Thai massage - it was glorious! Also loved how she spent a lot of time massaging the base of my cranium, neck and shoulders when others usually just gloss over it. There were several heat sacks placed on my body throughout the session to help loosen me up which was very comfortable. The medicated oil worked wonders in relieving some of that stubborn tension. She could feel that I had toxins in my body but appreciated that she didn't try to upsell me even though I wanted it anyways as an add-on. It's the legit fire cupping and it really drew out all the gunk. After my session, I felt so much looser, relaxed and ready for a giant nap. Expect a simple set up with not much frill in regard to the environment. But that's not something my boyfriend & I really focus on. We're both deep tissue kind of people with specific areas of pain. Oh my, the massages at this location are excellent; I can tell they went to school back East, as this is more of a Chinese medicine practice. The prices are a bit higher than other locations in the area, but you will come out feeling refreshed and ready for anything that comes your way. I was molested here (yesterday)! I feel so uncomfortable writing this but I hope no one else goes through what I went through. Not sure how I can make this review to 0 stars. I got a 90 minute medicine oil massage + cupping with Lanson, & he massaged my inner pelvic bone/thigh as he was doing it I froze up & thought maybe it was normal until he started touching the outside of my private parts. The drape was covering my private part & a couple times he removed it & I know this because I felt cold air flowing throughout the massage in that area. I did not pay $135 ($125 90 min + $10 cupping) to feel sexually assaulted, when I made a noise that I was uncomfortable he just asked "are you in pain or ticklish?" Every time I tried to speak up, he would say I had toxins or acted like he couldn't speak English. At some point I froze up & didn't know what to do as he put something over my face to cover my eyes also. I rarely write reviews in general, I've been getting massages for years from different places all over the world. But I have never experienced this, it sucks because this place is good at massages (taking out knots, etc.) but I did not feel relaxed instead of I feel disgusted for being touched inappropriately. I'm not sure what I can do moving forward as with authorities, etc. I thought maybe it was normal or a pressure point/spot I never paid attention to but he never once even asked what areas I needed work on to begin with.. I hope this review helps, please be careful. Lastly, apparently the owner isn't coming back until February, I understand this is not a fancy/hotel spa or whatever maybe I shouldn't have been fully nude for a full body massage here but if you're going to charge $100+ for a massage please provide cotton underwear or at least train your workers more on what is inappropriate! Connie is my life saver! I went to her for my shoulder pain and the first time I did one hour with her. Two days later, my shoulders felt so much better. I also did cupping for the first time and she cupped my upper shoulder and told me that I have frozen shoulders and that's why I've been feeling pain and that I must treat it before it gets worse. I listened to her and went the following week to treat the pain and after an hour and a half of pain treatment with the Chinese oil, I felt instant relieve! I went again because I woke up with a huge neck pain. I was in so much pain, I even had trouble looking down. I did the one and a half hour pain treatment with her and she did cupping around my neck area as well. Before my session with her ended, she helped me cracked my neck and my lower legs! OMG I love her!!! I plan to go once a week to treat my frozen shoulders. The place says they accept walk-in but I recommend calling the place first and make sure you ask for Connie! I've had Lanson worked on me and he was also pretty good! No private parkings available but finding a parking there was pretty easy for me. Lanson at Healthy Massage really dug in and helped me feel much better after our 90-min session. Upon getting situated on the massage table, he immediately asked me what area I wanted to focus on and whether I had pain anywhere. Lanson fastidiously worked on all my pain points and I really enjoyed the medicinal menthol oil and heat pack add-on. The space felt clean, but it is semi-private (the upper most one foot of the enclosed room partitions are open for ventilation). I wore a surgical mask during the entire massage for peace of mind. This place has two massage therapists: Lanson and Connie. I've not worked with Connie, but I went to Lanson first for a 30 minute massage and then for a 60 minute massage. He is my new best friend. He is a highly trained massage therapist. Although there is a language barrier because I only speak English and he is not fluent in English, we had no trouble communicating. He knew exactly when I was in pain and how to treat the trouble areas. For my 60 minute massage, he started on my neck and shoulders, a little bit on my head, and then my arms and pecks. Then he had me turn over and worked on my back, hips, and legs. I like that he used these heated beanbags as well as some kind of menthol rub at certain spots. I ended up tipping him double what I intended to when I arrived, because he just plain earned it. Everyone was wearing masks. They clean well in between customers. I called on a Friday to inquire if they offered prenatal massage. The man answered, "No problem," with a Chinese accent. I made an appointment for the next morning, Saturday at 10am. Just as I was pulling up and parking, he called to remind me that I had made an appointment. I told him I'd be right in. This is a no frills traditional massage business. It smelled strongly of eucalyptus and herbs. The man greeted me and showed me the price chart on the wall. I asked for a lady masseuse and he said then it would be a 30 minute wait. I said, "no problem." He kindly brought me hot water while I waited. 20 minutes later, he showed me to my room and introduced me to Connie. She was a bit distracted at the start of our massage. Going in and out of the room, and finishing up with another client. The rooms don't have roofs, and it's easy to hear everything going on. Connie was very strong . Her massage is not the relaxing kind where you fall asleep, but the kind where muscles are sore the next day. She has strong hands and was able to locate all my tension. She knew of prenatal massage protocol and used a light touch on my lower back as well as kept me on my sides. She was friendly and we had small talk. Stumbled upon this place and so glad I did. I had Macy for a 60min oil massage. She wore a n95 mask the whole time (& I kept my mask on as well). Macy had a nice, firm pressure and found all my knots. I didn't even have to point out the spots I wanted to have worked on; she just found them. It was a full body massage, including scalp down to the feet. She uses oil as well as massage over a blanket. Overall, would highly recommend this place. I call this the Excelsior quickie body shop and I mean that in a totally legit and endearing way. On a Friday afternoon, I wanted to step into my weekend with some chill vibes so I called to see if I could come in the next 15 minutes and the man on the phone, in broken English said yes so I showed up without an appointment and was ready for a cheap, strong, and no frills massage. Warning: NOT a spa environment, in fact, it's quite abrasive as the staff yell across the curtain covered "rooms" to one another in what sounds like Cantonese. I don't normally mind because I would bring headphones with me and listen to an audiobook. I had to minus one star because they said there was free WiFi but it didn't actually work. There were WiFi information and signs all over the walls but my therapist said "No WiFi" so I just let it go. Not honoring your features = -1 star My massage was great and I tipped Lanson $30 because he went hard, just the way I like it. Hot ginger soaks for my feet. My clothes were kept on and I laid down on a plushy oversized massage chair. They give you warm compresses for your eyes, chest, and back here. Nice touch! Called for an appointment for two Monday night for Tuesday morning and was secured immediately. Parking right in front and open earlier than expected. We were greeted warmly by a male at the front desk who confirmed our appt and then my mother and I were brought into the main massage room. Clean and comfortable. It was extra cold this morning so they even brought over a portable heater to keep my mother warm. Both were great! Checked in regularly about pressure. Explained how to help alleviate pain in sensitive areas and asked if we had special focus areas. Went with the $38 1 hour head and feet massage which really is full body. Definitely worth it. My partner and I came in today to get Valentine's Day massages, mind you we called ahead and were told to come in at 3:30. As soon as we walked in the woman up front asked how long we wanted and we told her one hour. She then told us it was $50 each and we said okay. (Prices were listed on counter) She then asked if we were paying together or separate and we said together. After we pulled out a credit card she, said $50 each for massage and $20 tip each so $140 total. We were both thrown off because she was telling us it was a $20 minimum tip on a one hour massage and a $10 minimum tip on a 30 minute massage. Once she realized we were upset with being told how much to tip, she said she didn't have an open spot for two one hour massages, only 30 minutes. NO THANK YOU. This is the second time we tried coming to this place and this is the second time we have had a bad experience. I have worked as a server for over 10 years, so I'm a very generous tipper. However, I am not going to be told to pay up front AND put a required $20 tip on top of it. What if the massage was bad? They have the price listed on the counter and no where does it say it is required to tip upfront, and whatever amount they decide. The massage here was rough, sloppy, lacked technique, and was painful. It was off to a good start -- she checked in about pressure, etc -- but then it just devolved into a random rubbing, with no apparent plan or strategy. You know how they do one leg, then the other, etc. She went all over my body, to and from places, often doing the same places twice, but sometimes doing one side and not the other. Instead of massaging, she rubbed cream in using her fingertips. If I wanted that, I would just use lotion myself and save $50. She also would try to get pressure points (which I like) but often ended up just missing and getting the nearby bone -- see my use of "painful" above. She rubbed so hard it would shake my whole body and my face would jiggle inside that hole in the table. It was a supremely uncomfortable and unenjoyable experience, which is a shame because the reviews are good and I wanted to find a reasonably priced, conveniently located massage therapist close to me. I came here last week desperate for a massage. I was told that my injury required an additional 30 min of massaging + a chinese herb treatment. I had fallen while working out and my lower back was very swollen and stiff, and it was difficult to sit/stand let alone walk. I accepted the add ons. I was a little shocked at the price of the add ons considering I had already paid for a $57 1-hr massage. Additional 30 min massage and chinese herb treatment were approximately $55 additional? I paid because I was desperate and in a lot of pain. I iced my back and butt for 2 days. The injury caused a lot of swelling in my lower back and hip area, and they said I had injured near my sciatica nerve. Luckily I knew what I was going in for and yes, there was some discomfort, but long behold, I FEEL SO much better now!!!!!! I had 2 days of bed rest post the massage to help bring down swelling and pain. The place is clean, nothing fancy....The therapists are professional and responsive to any requests. They constantly check in with you to check that the pressure isn't too much etc. I'm really glad I was recommended to come here, and I will definitely be back. On repeatedly asking who the new owner was, they didn't give the number. Finally, they said "Mr. Joe is the new owner." Even though it is the same staff, just because the owner has changed, they have given up on all responsibilities they had for customers a few months ago. This basically means that you can't trust this business at all. Unless you want to get cheated, do not buy anything in advance from them. You cannot trust this business any more, and I'll be surprised if they don't change their name on Yelp as well to get rid of all the low ratings here.
