The girls at the front desk are very unprofessional!!! I confirmed my appointment when I booked the appointment three days before my appointment. I arrived to my appointment on time and they begin telling me they texted me and I didn't confirm my appointment so they pushed me back three hours . While talking to me another family approached me and the lady completely just stop talking to me to address them rudely. I've been coming here for too long with my three daughters to continue to receive such horrible service. No apologies no empathy that I not only took off for the day and that my kids also had to take off from school as well. 0 stars,they dont want you in with your kid,the tald me to get out so they can get the xray,then they came back to me with a paper printed and tol me my daughter had 8 dacays(caries) i went to get a second opinion and she only have 3,they do that to charge more money to people and ensuranse...DONT BRING YOUR KID THERE!i heard that for dental prosidures,they use belts or straitjackets so the kids cant move,and you dont know because your kids go alone..hell no!! read more

My son enjoy's his visit at this dentist office. His most recent appointment he had an abscess on his gum on top of his front right tooth. Dr. Figdor, was amazing with him. My son was also so sleepy during this visi, but Dr. Figdor made the time go so fast when he had to remove his tooth and add 3 fill in. The new receptionists are very unprofessional. My kids have been coming here for years with no issues. Recently no one picks up the phones and texts messages get responded to days later. The back staff are fine but the folks up front at the table need to be replaced. I was told because I was slightly late they could only see one of my children. There were only 3 people in the waiting area and they tell me to reschedule or wait to see if anyone is late or cancels. They told me why didn't I give them a courtesy call to inform them I was running late? How can I when no one answers the phone. The traffic around there is terrible and parking is a nightmare. I got there on time but couldn't find parking and parked like 6 blocks away. I will not be returning here. Avoid this place if you want a good experience for your child. read more

The offie was very clean, nicely decorated and spacious. I appreciated the signage asking patients to wear masks regardless of vaccination status but ironically the receptionists were wearing masks on their chin and below their nose respectively. I didn't say anything, but I was dissapointed. The x-ray technician was SO patient with my 5 year old who has struggled with dental x-rays in the past because they make him gag. This was his first successful x-ray. The hygienist was AMAZING. She had a great bedside manner while cleaning the teeth of my 8 and 5 year old children even though my 8 year old was extremely squirmy. The dentist (Katie) answered all of our questions and the entire visit only took 40 minutes. All in all a wonderful visit, but please encourage your receptionists to wear masks properly. I have been coming here for years and never had an issue the medical staff are great. The new receptionist are very unprofessional, rude, incompetent and disgusting. The receptionists are giving such a good dental office a bad reputation. I've missed two appointment due to my child having Covid-19 twice and rescheduled an appointment due to my child senior trip that was scheduled on the same day as her appointment at healthy smiles pediatric dentistry. I had an appointment today and was 10 minutes late due to Manhattan traffic and my child was refused services. I tried explaining myself and a slim young receptionist with balding wig scattered edges started to scream at me and stated I missed my appointment because I was 10 minutes late and my daughter was refused care. I then asked to speak to the manager who was just as unprofessional and stated I missed my appointments due to my child having covid-19 and being I was 10 minutes late I can not be seen and refused care to my daughter. I then asked to reschedule the appointment and the manager stated I can not be rescheduled and gave me a number to an individual named Sandy. Who talked to me like I was a child. I tried to tell her the 2 receptionist are extremely rude and the individual sandy stated they are not rude because I was 10 minutes late and missed 2 appointment due to my child having Covid-19 the receptionist had a right to refuse care and talk to me in such a triggering tone screaming and yelling. I work for the City Of New York in a healthcare setting and as a public servant that is not how you treat a patient. I would never treat any of my patients as such, I will be filing a formal complaint with New York State OPD and I've already started the paper work. Horrible experience with my 4 year old here....Never going back for sure!!! Not one of the staff members knew how to greet or talk to a child who's about to have her tooth removed to make them feel a lil at ease. Didn't even smile at my kid or say hello. My daughter got a bad vibe and immediately started being anxious. The laughing gas that cost 60$ didn't even work one bit. The only place with "great" reviews that accepted our insurance. The dentists and hygienists are professional, kind, and gentle. Unfortunately the office is impossible to get a hold of and doesn't respond to questions unless you reach out to them multiple times over many weeks. It's been difficult to make appointments and get billing questions answered since I started taking my kids to the office last year. Recently there was an error made with my insurance and I have been calling and texting and emailing for a full month now and cannot get a straight answer on whether they've taken the step they need to to resolve it on their end. Mistakes happen; I'm not blaming them for that. I just want a call back. It's a shame that dealing with their office is such a time suck because I do really like their medical staff and their office is conveniently located for my family but I will never bring my children here again, and you shouldn't either unless you love spending all of your time trying to reach people who don't want to help you in the slightest. read more

Dr. Figdor has been taking care of my daughter since she was 3 years old. The first two visits were rough on my baby due to the fact she had a few cavities. Nonetheless, Dr. Figdor is always comforting and very gentle. During our last visit my daughter got a big boost in confidence because of his words and excitement at how far her oral care has come. I have another child on the way and my baby boy will be going to Healthy Smiles as well. The entire staff is excellent. read more

He made my daughter feel at ease, she didn't shed a single tear! Front desk was also pleasurable and accommodating. Our appointment was for 5 pm, we arrived home at 5:30. Dr. Figdor is by far the best pediatric dentist! After googling & researching he came up. After a few phone calls, I decided to give him a try for my twins. Best decision I've made for them. After my last experience at another dentist office with my kids ended in us walking out after an hour wait without being seen and the receptionist telling us fill some documents out I was on the hunt for another dentist for my kids. Found this one through my insurance and good old Yelp reviews not many but better than the other pediatric dentists I was researching reviews of. Took a chance made an appt last week for today and so glad I did. Very short wait time which was a plus they already had my information from when I had called another plus area for the kids to be occupied and showing child friendly shows what's not to like. They have small tvs in the exam room to distract the kids and everyone was friendly. Will definitely be their dentist as long as I have the insurance they take. Don't hesitate to go there you'll be glad you did!! read more

Booked an appointment one month in advance, got a call the night before that my appointment needed to be rescheduled- fine. Waited another two weeks, got another call for the same reason. Rescheduled again for the 2nd time. Appointment was at 9, got there at 9 and no dr, he was running late- one hour. Had to reschedule and take my son to school. Rescheduled for the fourth time, same issue. Dr came an hour late. I was furious. This is a daily occurrence it seems. Very unreliable. He spent 20 seconds on a cleaning for my son, told me that he needed sealants and rescheduled me. Then had the nerve to ask me for a review. Are you kidding me? I waited an hour for my appointment because of your lateness and now I have to wait another two weeks for sealants? No thank you. Will be taking my business elsewhere. I took my daughter for a cleaning and check up, and I couldn't be happier with the care we received from both the hygienist and the dentist! The hygienist was very kind and gentle, let her see the tools and explained the purpose of each one, and even let her feel the polisher on her finger first. He was very attentive to her comfort and took the time to make sure she got a break when she needed one. They did a nice job balancing education on good brushing and flossing without making her feel they were scolding her. read more

Brought my son here for the 1st time 5-2-18. Words cant Express how I feel about this dentist office. The receptionists over th phone and in person were awesome. Check in was smooth and quick. Once inside the Dr.s asst was great. She was easy going and was able to answer all my questions and concerns. The dentist . He was so professional and nice. I had thought that the purpose of the first visit was just to get toddlers comfortable in the dental environment. Instead it was totally the opposite for my two year old, who has always been fine seeing pediatricians. They tried to make my son comfortable, but when my son got progressively more upset, they had my husband had to hold down our 2 year old while the dentist put metal tools in his mouth to hold his mouth open as he screamed just to look at his teeth. Dentist kept telling my son that it was good that he was screaming so he could see his teeth better. No anticipatory guidance, and the only advice he gave was over my son's screaming, where he told us not to give him juice or bottles. He attempted to polish my son's teeth in complete blindness to the circumstances of being a first visit with a screaming toddler. Personally, I've only had good experiences with dentists, but this experience made me never want to go to another dentist again ever for the rest of my life. Maybe he's fine with older patients, but the paperwork asks parents to give permission to restrain their children with a papoose board without explaining the meaning of that term, which would not pass any institutional review board as "informed consent." On the pro side: This dentist came recommended by other parents, and a friend who is a pediatrician. Staff were nice, and we were seen on time, and it was easy to find street parking on a holiday Monday morning. read more

This was a great experience with Dr. Figdor. He saw both of my daughters and completed an extraction on one who is extremely scared of the dentist. She was so at ease with him that she didn't even flinch. When he was finished he asked her if he could take out her tooth and she responded NO!. he replied too late I already did, she gave him two thumbs up. He does all the work himself, no hygienist. Great experience! I brought my daughter (age 2y9m) for her first cleaning (2nd dental visit ever - first one, at another dentist, was miserable). The office is clean and bright with some toys and tvs. The reception staff were polite and easy-going. We got into the exam room pretty quickly. When Dr. Figdor came in, my daughter (who was thoroughly prepped & "ready" and excited for the experience), immediately got shy and clammed up. The doc promised her a "prize" at the end of the exam and that made her *very* cooperative. Nice move, doc, nice move. He proceeded to introduce her to his various instruments, then moved on to the exam and cleaning. He talked her through the entire thing, making her very comfortable with the experience. Meanwhile, he talked to me as well, asking questions about her oral hygiene & diet and offering information regarding the dos and don'ts of dental care. Got a cute, nicely packaged toothbrush & floss kit (in a pencil bag - we needed one of those, thanks!). The hardest part of the whole visit was deciding which toy she wanted (great problem to have). Very, very happy that she (we!) had such a positive experience, it's great starting point for a lifetime of dental visits - I think she'll be excited to return in 6 months.
