I had been seeing Dr. Ballard for a few years. recently she performed a root canal on my incisor…read moredue to an infection I had - days later I still had pain in the tooth and I called to schedule a follow up appointment not understanding why with a root canal I was still feeling pain; she took x-rays And then immediately took a panoramic x-ray so I knew something was wrong. She came in after the panoramic and told me that I had a severe infection and needed to see an endodontist immediately, and that I may lose four of my top teeth on the left side due to the infection. Mind you at my age of 59 I've only ever had one filling and one cavity in my entire life for this to be happening seem unreal, I questioned how this could've happened I did not get an answer- so I went to the endodontist she referred me to who was absolutely terrible. no bedside manner, no gentleness (when he asked me if I was in pain and I told him yes he just continued right on working ). I asked him how this could've happened (with my husband standing next to me) and all he did was make a face and shrugged his shoulders. I had paid Dr. Ballard for a root canal and now this endodontist had to perform a second root canal n the same tooth which cost me over $1400 out of pocket. He only put in a temporary filling, advising me to go back to my dentist for permanent filling. when I called to make an appointment I was told I had to wait till until after New Year for that appointment this situation was something that it happened early to mid December. I had a surgery planned for the end of December so I could not have any kind of dental work performed three weeks prior and now I have to wait till three weeks later to have it completed I can't believe she wouldn't fit me in! when I wrote an email to her practice. I literally got a call the next day saying how upset they were that I would question another doctor about Dr. Ballard's treatment. Can you believe it - how upset they were?? I have every right to do so being (told that I may lose four teeth due to an infection without being told how the infection could've possibly happened), but since I still had pain on a tooth that had a root canal, it leads me to believe that something was missed. Well, after I was told this was slander in writing by Dr Ballard, and I was immediately dismissed from her care as she felt we were not compatible. when everything was going well We were perfectly compatible for the longest time. As soon as I question something all of a sudden we are no longer compatible, interesting isn't it? - no problem. Plenty of other dentists out there. As far as slander I'm amazed that she would use this terminology. Maybe she should look up the definition. I made absolutely no false statements against her to anyone . I simply questioned her and the specialist she sent me to. Obviously, she had no concern for my anxiety of having been told I may need four teeth, pulled, and implants placed.

My husband and I have been coming to Patient Friendly Dental for about two years now. After we…read moremoved into the neighborhood, we looked online for a dentist nearby with good reviews. We are so lucky to have selected this group of dentists! Although I have been good about keeping my teeth clean over the years, my husband has neglected his (long before I met him). In fact, he hadn't been to the dentist in decades! Fortunately, he had Dr. Lina Koffman and her friendly assistant to care for him. At first my husband wanted me in the room during his cleaning, but as he returned for subsequent visits (if you haven't been to the dentist in decades, they need to work on you more than usual), he felt comfortable enough that I was sent out (by him) to the waiting room. He was never apprehensive after this initial visit as he knew he would be well taken care of. The assistant even recommended an electronic toothbrush which he says helps with him brush more accurately. We recently went in for a cleaning and my husband was happy to inform me that his visit went well. I am grateful for Dr. Koffman, her assistants, and fellow dentists for helping my husband and for the wonderful atmosphere they have created.

I have been accidentally prodded and even cut on the side of my mouth here unfortunately. I will also say that the decor needs to be completely thrown out in the waiting room because the chairs literally look like they have wet mold spots on them and it's very unappealing to sit on. Other then that the staff makes up for a lot of these short comings but be aware there are other dentists in the area that also take a broader range of insurances

Once, the hygienist tried gave me expired fluoride gel. Considering it's $50 out of pocket, you would think they would be more considerate. The dentist told me the fluoride gel was still good, but eventually gave me an unexpired fluoride gel. They stopped taking my insurance recently but not before they tried to put a claim from work completed 2 years ago. The dental practice does have a lot of business but probably because there is not a lot of dentist places around.
