We also appreciated that they each reviewed our birth plan line-by-line in separate appointments, made sure that we had informed and current information to draw from, and that everyone was on the same page, which made the delivery smoother and allowed us to focus more on being there for each other. Our team included Andrea (well-versed on a wide range of topics and was able to anticipate and speak to all the needs that we shared and some we didn't even see coming!), Aly (who took lots of time to talk us through anything we were unfamiliar with or anxious about and made us smile during each visit), and Ilana and Kaelyn (the midwife and apprentice who delivered the baby at Victoria General Hospital and gave us extra care and attention throughout). It had never occurred to us until this past year that we could have a team of experts managing our care and each giving us their knowledge and experience through monthly and later-on weekly appointments both before and after the delivery. My opinion of what a chiropractor's job is; is not about curing people's chronic pain, it is about accelerating the individuals natural healing abilities. Each session will align the spinal cord to promote blood flow to any one of their injuries which will create natural balance throughout the body. If you are reading my point of view, I know you are looking for either relief, hope, healing, even restfulness from your chronic pain. I will fast tract my reason I am at backfit. From 1972 to 2014 were my years of opportunity, where I lived fast and furious, looking for work and trying new hobbies with new challenges in every career I accepted. With success I had a lifetime of challenging opportunities in the industrial world. Sometime in 2015, I woke up with crazy pain in my joints. It was early arthritis setting in. I had not planned to deal with arthritis. (I do not think anyone in the world wants to deal with arthritis or chronic pain for that matter.) In finding the relief for my high impact chronic pain symptoms. I have gone to walk-in clinics, specialist doctors, naturopathic doctors' Orthopedic surgeons, friends, and arthritis clubs, to find any answers that would work. My results were not beneficial. They were all about tests, x-rays, talking, new client referrals and pain medication. If you have read this far, I know you have been though things like I have. I invite you to read on. To the how I did it. In December of 2023, I picked up a business card called Backfit, with a simple invite of a gift of $75.00, for an intro treatment at their office. Okay! , let us see what this business Backfit, has to offer; from reading their online reviews to checking out the BBB reports; This company claims that they will fix your spinal cord if given a chance. My first wish was simple: I want to walk and stand up-straight with no pain. On my 4th month I could stand up straight and walk with no issues. I will still be working with Backfit to align my spine, so I no longer deal with the back pain. If you are still interested in Backfit, please read on. What no one tells you when you decide to go on a life changing program .... So, listen up: The hardest thing anyone will accomplish while in chronic pain is the changing of old habits. (I cannot stress this enough). Making new habits will take all your willpower and imaginative skills. It will be a huge effort for any person that has suffered long term chronic pain. My advice to you is to make yourself happy. Once you are okay and happy inside then the rest of your work will be okay. a) Making and keeping schedules b) Sustainable Goal setting and completing them is ridiculously hard when our world as we know it is so busy. c) Stop! Just stop! Take a look at what you are doing at the moment the pain hits you. (EVALUATE!)! Where does it come from exactly? d) Physical vs psychological are quite different worlds, be aware of where your pain is coming from. Once you know how to describe this pain and the location of it; then Backfit can alter their alignments to deal with that specific location. Keep inventing new habits every day until the old ones you do not like are gone. I am still going through this today, (it is May 2024), tossing out the old and inventing the new. My Last words of encouragements to the readers who made it this far. Take a breath, a sip, stretch your legs and read on. Trust in yourself If you can think of it, you can do it. In the backfit program there are new habits and hard lessons to accomplish. A ton of interesting reading material about the spinal cord vs human being's willpower. Who knew? To relearn your original life's rhythms all over again I can tell you it is going to be extremely hard. You must have a huge amount of discipline and belief that it will work.
