I was taken to the back of the salon to change into a robe and slippers for my relaxing 55 minute escape. It all started out well. Problem is, the massage area is right next to the salon's shampoo area and the walls between the two areas are not sound proof. So for the entire duration of my "relaxing" massage, I heard clients and their stylists talking and laughing while rinsing dye out of their hair. On top of that, the employee fridge must also be in the back "spa" area because the door kept opening and closing and people were back there shuffling and crinkling wrappers and papers on and off throughout the massage. And I personally thought the lights in the spa area were turned up too high. A massage should take you away but it's hard to have that happen when lights are glaring down on you like you are being interrogated. The masseuse was a little too light in her touch even after I told her she could work deeper and she kept stubbornly trying to get out this one knot in my shoulder even after I told her she was hurting me and it was fine for her to move on. The entire time I was trying to figure out how much longer I had to lay there not being relaxed. When it was finally over, I asked the girl at the front desk if I could put my tip on a credit card. She told me only if I made a purchase so I started to look at some of their hair products and she told me that was a "separate" business so I could only purchase from the spa. Ok, so I'll purchase yet another uncomfortable massage so I can leave a tip for this unpleasant experience?? No, thanks. Overall, I can see why they felt the need to offer massage services through Groupon. People in town probably already know what the deal is there so they had to draw in outsiders for an unrelaxing but affordable "spa" experience.

I then went to other places near my house, some that were found on Groupon and other spas that cost nearly $120 for a hour long facial, and not one place compared to Spa J. There is something to be said about owners who do the work themselves. Julie is truly passionate about her work, never pushes to sell products, and really cares more about her client being satisfied than making money. I would recommend her to anyone; it will be worth your visit.

Vanity??? Maybe, maybe not! I come here for medical grade facials and skincare. I usually get the HydraFacial MD ($265), which is around 30-45 minutes long. It's a good facial for all skin types and can target a variety of skin concerns. It cleanses, extracts, and hydrates, leaving you with a glow. I have skin drier than the Sahara Desert, and this keeps me looking like a glazed donut. They offer a lot of services to help you reach your aesthetic goals - botox, fillers, chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, PRP, etc. They have free in-person and virtual consultations with licensed professionals. I did a lot of research before deciding on coming here. Because the last thing you want is getting your skin and face ruined... Vanessa, the practice owner and lead nurse practitioner, is incredibly knowledgeable. She has excellent bedside manner and listens to your concerns. She's honest and doesn't try to upsell you. She's hired a great team of women who are just as sweet as her. Her estheticians and nurses are highly experienced and skilled. Daria did my facials and she was very gentle. The entire spa is spotless from head to toe. It's super easy to book an appointment online or by phone call. They have a membership with an annual fee ($99) that comes with a ton of perks. They also have a free loyalty program where you can rack up points and use it for discounts. GET BARE!

3.5: A little bit torn over this one. Review is based on two groupons for hour massages. The first…read moretime, I had a difficult time contacting the establishment to make an appointment (voice-mail and email were not returned). But once the appointment was made, the actual massage was thorough and good (it was supposed to come with an add-on treatment that was forgotten though). The second time, making an appointment was much easier. The actual massage however wasn't customized to the actual body parts that we wanted massaged - it was just a regular body massage (not sure where the communication broke down). We did, however, get the add-on of hot stones. The place is clean and professional looking, and parking is fine.

Very cute, slightly posh and nicely spaced and decorated. Melissa is a true professional, practices all covid safety methods and was quite educating! Her pricing for services is decent, she is genuine, kind, sweet, fast and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Had a facial with chemical peel today. My first peel ever and she slowly prepared me and walked me through the entire process. She ensured I was comfortable, calm and enjoying the process. All was done in under an hour. Quality service and clean environment will allow me to return. Actually prior to my departure I scheduled my very first Dermaplanning in a month. Melissa was not pushy at all and seemed to provide honest suggestions. She is located in a strip center of offices. Her building is located in the far end-building 3! I felt amazing during and feel amazing afterwards! My skin looks like it is glowing after that miraculous peel and facial!

Yesterday I went back to the Li Health Foot Spa in Closter, NJ and had a full body massage for one hour. The price went up along with all other prices. The massage table was upscale with very soft leg cushions that were very relaxing. The female masseuse was great and used medium pressure witch I like and targeted the shoulders, upper and lower back, glutes and legs. It was a wonderful experience releasing lots of tension and knots. I was so happy I went back and will continue to have massages in the future on a regular basis at this establishment.

While the space has the standard no-frills vibe, the first thing I noticed was that the owners here have made sure to line the massage tables with plush, heated bedding and very soft leg cushions that immediately relaxed me - something I haven't seen in any of the other businesses. More importantly, the female masseuse I had was great! I like a lot of pressure and she definitely brought that; she also properly targeted the common shoulder, upper and lower back, and even glutes & leg areas where I think the majority of people experience lots of tension and knots (and I really felt it), whereas I feel like at other places the masseuses just mechanically work through whatever routine they're taught without any thought, and totally miss the spots I need addressed. I know I need more than 1 session to undo all of my built-up aches and pains, but this first massage really feels like it made a difference!
