My masseuse didn't say a word. After the massage therapist left, this woman -- who had a terrible attitude -- continued her so-called "reflexology" the same way: one-handed, distracted, and clearly uninterested. I'm not a confrontational person, but she honestly intimidated me. In hindsight, I should have spoken up. I will never go back. I can only hope she's no longer there, because I doubt I'm the first person to complain.

De Beauté salon is easily one of the largest salons I've visited, taking up an entire multi-story building. Parking is easy with an adjoining lot and the first floor essentially functions as a receiving lobby. Here, receptionists will check you in, tell you which floor you're heading toward, and hand you a slip of paper that details the service you're receiving (to give to your service provider). I was paired with Antoine for the Brazilian blowout, and I wish I'd taken before/after pictures because wow, what a change. I'd arrived with frizzy hair that was approximating a Brillo-pad texture and frizz (thanks to a bleach job I'd recently gotten done), but after a short hour and a half in the chair, my tresses had been tamed to a silky smoothness that I hadn't felt on my head for some time. I've since washed my hair a few times, and I'm happy to report that this keratin treatment has staying power. For those sensitive to strong chemicals, note that the formula they use contains formaldehyde. I appreciated that they set up the chair by two strong fans and an open door, but my eyes still watered a bit here and there.

I was told that because I was "5 minutes late," they would be deducting time from my treatment. When I told her, she responded with "you only have about 20 minutes." I checked my watch -- there was still a full 45 minutes remaining in my session. So where exactly did that time go? To make matters worse, when I finished and was sitting in the waiting area waiting for my Uber, another client walked in and apologized for being late. The receptionist's response? "Don't worry honey, we'll take care of you." No phone call. No time deducted. No problem. The double standard here is impossible to ignore. Arrive 4 minutes early? You're penalized and rushed through a session someone clearly couldn't time correctly. Arrive late as someone else? Warmly welcomed with zero consequences. I'm not sure if the issue is with timekeeping, mathematics, or just selective customer service -- but either way, it's completely unacceptable. Save your money and find a spa that treats all of its customers with the same courtesy and respect.

Why sell your services to Groupon and then treat your Groupon customers like second class citizens!? If the service was good, she would have earned a repeat customer. No need to take off your shirt, she says. What!? She had no intention of even touching my neck or shoulders, as is done in standard facials! Said it would be super fast and shirt won't get wet. Esthetician kept encouraging me to leave and get my money back from Groupon! Then refused the service. I had Josie as my masseuse and she came in the room like a whirl wind. She seemed really anxious and continued to rush through the whole massage. She was grabbing, pulling my limbs and was really rough. I had to ask her twice to be gentle. It was very hard to communicate with her since she had a heavy accent. When I went to check out the young girls in the front didn't ask me how the service was and kept talking to each other on how "overstimulated" they were.
