Our daughter E has been in love with art since the age of 2. I've always loved to watch her use her imagination and creativity to come up with complex and deep pieces of art. We have signed her up for different art class/ studio lessons but they all seemed to fit into more of a "follow what we are showing you to do" type lesson. I recently decided to restore a printed canvas painting which was acquired 10+ years ago. I had not painted for 20 years and had forgotten how to even start oil painting. This art studio has been wonderful for my kids. It is a nurturing environment with casual, but significant instruction by owner and artist, Sharon. I love that this place is not one of those formulaic art classes where everyone has to do the same thing. In this day and age where most public schools offer virtually no art instruction, this place has been a God send for those kids that would like an avenue to express themselves through their art while learning technique. Sharon is an amazing art teacher. She has a lot of experience working with children and tones of patience. She knows how to match the child to what type of medium they will do best at and helps when they're having difficulties advancing. When we have to miss a week my daughter is super disappointed and wants to go on a different day. Another thing that's amazing about this studio is that they offer flexible schedule. Instead of having to conform to the studio's schedule, Sharon works with my schedule. This makes it easy for me to fit art class between the many other things I have in my schedule. A+++. I originally sought her out for my son, because he needed some enforcement with his fine motor skills. I ended up sending all three of my children to her because I found it good for all of them. They all love it. I particularly love that the children draw what they want to draw. They don't have to start out drawing apples and oranges to learn still life drawings, they can draw cookies and ice cream instead.
