Absolutely horrendous customer service and communication within their own company. Sent an email through their website asking if they could get a specific part for my fireplace. All the info was in the email. Then Wayne contacts me saying "I received your request for a price on a Heat & Glo Fireplace, which model are you interested in so I can quote it for you?". Nope, wasn't my message at all. He refused to actually get my message with part numbers on it from his company. I didn't have the info on me. Not sure about the low reviews on this business ...but then again "most" reviews in NC are not favorable. Still trying to figure out why? Nobody communicates the good, although the BAD NEWS we ALL know travels fast. :( Typical these days! Cindy really put fourth effort in assisting me with the right style at a price that was within my budget. -Which was not easy but she pulled it off! She walked all over her business (2 showrooms as well) seeking these decorative balls that I really wanted. She was flexible and never appeared to become impatient or fret, quite the contrary she assisted me with my logs as she helped carry them out to my truck. -Nothing like non-corporate businesses. #supportfamilyownedbusinesses She also ordered a box of black embers (for a cleaner esthetic appearance) for me & at a good price. I thought looking for logs would be very difficult as I am picky but Cindy's knowledge made it painless. A nice store, with plenty of different styles of fireplaces & inserts as well as gas grills & non-vent options. The lady that helped me was very nice & took time to show me around & help me figure out what I was looking at. They also carry grill accessories including replacement briquettes. Looking for gas logs and started with Firehouse Casual 1.5 miles from our house. This isn't a purchase you can make and then simply return with your receipt if you don't like it. That said, I wanted to do my due diligence and felt in 3 separate trips to Firehouse and felt my questions were met with arrogance and annoyance..."why are you asking us questions..." Made the decision to not give them our business and went to Hearth and Patio. NIGHT AND DAY! Went in and walked out same day with a new set of gas logs in tow. There was never a feeling of them being too busy to assist and even had two people helping us at once to ensure our questions were answered. Would NOT recommend Firehouse Casual but would wholeheartedly recommend Hearth and Patio! read more

Purchase a 15 thousand dollar HEAT AND GLOWfireplace unit on 3/27/2001. It has been installed for over 5.5 MONTHS and has never worked. We have had multiple control modules and transformers replaced to no avail. I would never ever recommend doing business with these people. No one taking responsibility for this and we are now taking them to court. Stay away! read more

This is a 5 star company with excellent service...however they get 3 stars due to not having an installation service. They worked an excellent solution for my 60 year old home, ordered all the parts and charged a fair price. Then they handed me off to someone they recommend installing...not good...service was sh$t, price was horrible and when he left I had no idea if my fireplaces were even working right. The pilot light on the ventless logs I bought there would not stay lit. I've had them six years and rely on them. One call to the Hearth and Patio and they advised me to blow compressed air into the pilot light and voila! it worked. I am so happy. I knew when i purchased gas logs i wanted to buy local so that i could run by the store and ask questions if I needed to our make a quick phone call. It has paid off on more than one occasion. I just called Hearth & Patio to ask about a very small crack in the firebox of a wood-burning fireplace to see if it's okay or if it could be repaired or if the firebox should be replaced. The person I spoke with didn't seem at all interested in helping me and didn't seem to realize that a call of this sort is a sales opportunity. What a disappointment. read more

I needed gas grills for a pool. I called the store and the staff was very helpful. I never had to go to the showroom. They put the grills together, delivered them and offered to install. I did not have them do this, my maintenance people did the job. I could not have asked for a better grill or easier process. read more

The service I received from Hearth & Patio is in the "as good as it gets" category. Some brief background. We were on the front end of a move out-of-state when the control knob for the gas fireplace got stuck in the open position. We called Morris-Jenkins hoping they could do a quick fix. The service tech rearranged the logs, took a look and quoted me $2,700 to replace the igniter, starter and new logs, which we didn't need. He charged $225 for this sage advice and departed. A few days later our realtor recommended we call Hearth & Patio. I took her advice and spoke to a wonderful lady named Donna who took a personal interest. She asked me to text a photo of the fireplace and called immediately after. She knew exactly what we needed and told me the replacement parts would cost $150 and the service $125. The problem was that there weren't any available openings for service until well after we were to leave town. Donna took charge and said she would check to see if one of their people could make arrangements. An excellent fellow named Mark showed up midday three days later. Since the fireplace was stuck on, he had to shut off the gas at the source (behind the fire but he was able to do it). The logs were still very hot so he said he would check his schedule and call me to schedule a time since he had to check his schedule. True to his word, I heard from him less than an hour later. Mark returned at 7:00 tonight and did a quick job of replacement. We were chatting while he did the installation and I asked if he'd had a long day. He started his day at 6:00 this morning. It is difficult to find quality people like Donna and Mark these days. They both clearly place a high value on customer service and take exceptional pride in delivery of service and in their work. I'm grateful to them both. Highest marks to Hearth & Patio and strongest possible recommendation. read more

They had a few options but I had to get what they offered not create what I wanted. Nice store, nice selection, friendly and accommodation sales force. Purchased a radiant gas log set and glass doors. Wrong set of logs delivered. They took them back and installed the correct logs the same day which was good. The doors were installed but they too were the wrong doors. They came back and took the doors with new doors to be installed with in a week. Coming up on two weeks, no call, no doors. I called to check and should be installed next Wednesday. Not the end of the world but when I buy two items and both items delivered were wrong you wonder where the break down is. No chance I'll buy anything there again, too many other places to go to. read more
