Wow was this place good! I heard they added new menu items so I decided to stop by and try something new. I ordered the Southwest Chicken salad as a wrap and it was HUGE and stuffed with so many bold flavors (cilantro, black beans, southwest ranch...) I had to take some of it home because it was so big. ordered two meals there, the breakfast burrito and the biscuits and gravy. the breakfast burrito was fantastic still lacked in the flavor department considering what's in it but good nonetheless. however the biscuits and gravy were not good at all, no flavor whatsoever. i don't know why i thought the biscuits were going to be made from scratch or the gravy rich with meaty flavor but bland would be an understatement here. their house coffee forgot what it was called but that was top notch service was fine considering the one employee showed up late and i had to wait a bit to even order let alone receive it i'm sure it was an off day for them tho ambiance was nice it's a mix between cafe and cabin lodge didn't get a chance to sit by the fireplace but if i'm ever there again i'll definitely take advantage read more

Service phenomenal. OK when the Chef comes out of the back room and pitches in at the front end, you have a winning café. Ambience, you've got to be kidding me if you have a problem with this atmosphere. Come check it out for yourself by the fireplace or anywhere, love the glass elevator, too. My coffee was fresh ground and brewed to order. My quiche was delicious. All foods ready and fresh. Sure it had been six plus years since my last visit. Need to be regular customer? My wife had been told about this place, and I needed parts for my fireplace (by the way, the store has fireplaces, landscaping, lighting, furniture, clothes - bring the wife) so I decided to stop in for lunch. Lots of tables, and tables blocked for COVID. All servers wearing masks. This is actually a 2 visit review. I had their Cuban on the first visit. It was very good - the bun was good, the meat was freshly sliced, and the pickle pieces inside - it just was good. My wife wanted to check the place out, so we went again. This time, I had what I thought I wanted the first time but didn't get it because the Cuban looked soooo good - the Rib Quesadilla! My wife had their Quiche, which came with a fruit salad (freshly cut up) and a blueberry muffin. So the Rib Quesadilla - how do I describe this? It came with a spicy aioli dip. The ribs were cooked perfectly, The blend with the cheese and the tortilla - it was just perfect. You get 4 quarters and they are very filling. It was just marvelous! My wife's dish was also good. She really liked her quiche and the blueberry muffin and fruit were nice and fresh! Which is why I'm saying Get In and TRY THIS NOW. This is the best counter service lunch I've had in a Long Time. You come in the front door and go to your right. They do have breakfast early, and then switch to lunch around 11:00 am. The menu is over the counter. They do have an Astra Espresso machine and a ton of flavors, and grind their coffee fresh. They also have regular coffee if that's your thing. Look to the right for the cooler of soft drinks and water. You need to try this place. Garmin says it's on the right going north, but it's on the LEFT. It's north of the CN tracks and south of the UP tracks. Take some time to walk around the store. The original beams are still in place, and it's a great space to take in. read more

Wow!!!! This place is such a hidden gem! Stumbled upon it today while google searching for a "cafe" after visiting Urban Farmgirl. The menu sounded yummy so we gave it a try. Got the apple walnut salad with bacon. You get your choice of dressing, I tried it with poppyseed. HOLY WOW!!!! So crisp and fresh and delicious. A really nice size, not too big that it filled me up but big enough to be satisfying. The real star here though is the baby back rib quesadilla. The meat is smoked in house, and you can taste that!!! Smoky, melt in your mouth meat within a crispy quesadilla with a delicious chipotle aioli on the side. I'm so impressed- I am a little over a year into living in the area and wanted to find a nice soup/salad/lunch joint. I just loved this place! We also snagged the last orange cranberry muffin- crispy sugar on top, super moist and tart in the middle. YUM! The service was quick and the workers were kind as well. The coffee and espresso are excellent and so are their beans. Haven't tried the food yet but would highly recommend it to anyone. The house roast is super syrupy and the espresso isn't too bitter with a great crema. read more

One and a half stars is what I would really grant the HearthRock. The menu is very small and uninspired and the so called "famous pulled pork" was not good at all. They did have a nice selection of bbq sauces,however. The decor was okay but nothing special. The service was just barely adequate. The lady working never made eye contact and only spoke when she absolutely had to. I can't think of any reason in the world I would ever go back here. read more

We always visit the "Hearth Rock Cafe" on our way back from southern ILL. The pulled pork is as good as I had when I lived in Memphis. I buy 3-6 lbs. of coffee to take home to Wisc., because we can't get anything this good here. read more
