I have recently become a big fan of Megs! I normally go through the drive thru. They always have interesting and fun lattes of the week which are normally posted on their facebook page weekly, I don't think I have had a bad flavor yet! I am also a fan if their chocolate chip and pistachio muffin tops. The white zombie drink is pretty good also, a very nutty type taste to it. They have a loyalty punch card to get $1 off once you reach 10, but I think it should be a free drink! ;-) read more

On Rockford's north side, Meg's is a comfortable spot to relax with a drink and pastry, have a casual meeting, or work away from the office using the cafe's free wi-fi. On our way back to Minnesota from Chicago, we found this delightful little cafe off of I-90. People, this is worth the stop! The lady was very patient with us as we explored this menu and gave some wonderful suggestions. The homemade Asiago bagel was sooo good with the garden vegetable cream cheese spread! The lemon poppyseed muffin was moist and the perfect amount of lemon. I am going to dream about it for days to come! The coffee/lattes were very good! No complaints. Take the exit. Drive pass that McDonalds. And enjoy this little gem! read more

Great little coffee shop. I was dying for a coffee and looking for a quick place to exit off of the Interstate on my long ride home. Oddly enough this place is the most convenient on and off for a gourmet coffee between Bloomington and the WI border. Friendly staff and great coffee but here's a note, if you go there off of 39 you'll have to pay a toll at the exit. Worth the $1 or whatever it was though. read more

This is my first time visiting and I love it! Great place to get work done alone or chat with some friends. There is plenty of seating. I ordered the Sta-N-Awake and was very satisfied. The baked goods looked amazing, I will be trying some next time! The prices also appeal to my college budget. read more

I visited Meg's recently to buy some beans and started asking some questions about the origins of each blend. They had no idea what country their beans were sourced from and could only tell me the roast. I was disappointed. However, the actual "coffee shop" part of it seems nice. There's tons of space to sit and they have a full espresso menu. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet, as I come here all the time and think it is one of the best local coffee shops in Rockford! I come here to grab a cup of coffee and study, as do so many other people. It is an extremely comfortable environment and the coffee is excellent! The staff are always nice, the prices are reasonable, and they are extremely attentive. I have also been known to come in here to grab some lunch, as they have sandwiches, as well as the typical coffee shop pastries. This is another place I cannot say enough good things about, and I plan on continuing to come here as long as they'll let me :). So if you're in town looking for some good coffee, or looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee and study, this is your place!!!! Long time customer. I always feel the need to support local business. I really haven't had a bad experience until the other day I went to pick up coffee for myself and a coworker. I ordered and they seemed to rush me through it. They then didn't proceed to ask me of there was anything else I needed to order. Got to the window and my order was completely wrong. They gave me two hot coffees, I ordered two iced coffees so then asked if something was wrong with me, which was completely unprofessional. Very bad customer services and very upsetting because I do try to support these local business. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I love this coffee shop so much. Everyone is always so friendly and the coffee is delicious! Almost every Saturday one of the doctors at Dogwood Pet Hospital buys coffee for the staff from here. Meg's Daily Grind even accepts orders over the phone and let's you pickup through the drive-thru. They take such good care of us and even made a puppacino for our receptionists puppy today. Meg's is an excellent locally owned coffee shop in Rockford. Their coffee and specialty drinks are second to none. I get the skim caramel latte every time I go and it is the best latte I've ever had...better than Starbucks, better than Caribou. My wife LOVES their vanilla chai tea. I would actually say she's borderline obsessed with it. They have a nice atmosphere with the perfect combination of free wi-fi, comfy seating and Muzak to make your stay enjoyable. Plus you can be seen working hard on your next novel or big work project in public, which is what we all want, right? We make sure to stop at Meg's every time we're in town. read more

We love the other Meg's location on alpine and decided to give this one a shot because it was close to home. Well bad choice. We ordered 2 espressos and they asked if we wanted flavor in it so we did. Pulled away from drive thru and tried it... Tasted like SUGAR WATER. We went in to tell them it tasted horrible and my roommate said maybe they need to add more expresso or less flavored syrup. Instead of remaking it they just added expresso and gave back something that tested nastier then the first stuff. Not worth it, we have never been disappointed at the other location but this was was no good, and we didn't appreciate their attitude when we walked back in. A few more lights and we would have been at Starbucks, bad choice on our part. read more

By far the best coffee place EVER. I go here almost every morning and get my large iced spiced chai tea. The ladies during the week there are so friendly and nice. I don't care for the ones on the weekend. One of them got my order messed up. She gave me a different drink and different flavor muffin top and charged me more. I rather go during the week then the weekends for sure. I do love their muffin tops but I do wish they had more breakfast food. read more

I love this place! Great coffee at reasonable prices (with free refills) and a great bakery selection (the muffins are fantastic!). I just get one of the flavors of black coffee with almond milk, so i can't attest to their lattes and espresso drinks. But their hot and iced coffee are both wonderful! I really like this place. I usually go in for muffins and coffee, and sometimes a mocha drink. It's always really good, service is pretty friendly, and they recently bought the place next door. They broke down the wall and now there is a lot of extra room. Plus they are family owned! The prices are a bit high for the food, but prices are on par with other coffee shops for the coffee, and you do get one free refill with regular coffee. I RECOMMEND. read more

Sweet little quiet coffee shop. I had a bagel and Stu's Macchiato for breakfast. I just wish they had more breakfast food. They do need donuts on the weekend. No donuts made me sad. And their chessboard is missing a knight. And the music isn't hip but more for an older crowd. But you should check it out. Definitely a great place to spend a quiet Sunday morning. read more
