Before choosing a shop, I read the reviews and was honestly hesitant. After using Lang's myself, I…read moredon't understand some of the negative comments. A few reviewers appear to be located in California, so it's possible there may be some confusion with another business. My experience was excellent!! I came in on a Monday, the scheduled my truck to be done on Wednesday. I got the call Tuesday afternoon that it was done. They got my truck repaired much faster than expected, charged a very reasonable price, and treated me with respect throughout the process. I'll 1000% be recommending them to friends and family!

Avoid this place like the plague! Worst customer service and completely unprofessional!…read more Brought my truck in for a steering gear box change. Tells me it will take one day. Drop my truck off on a Friday morning, 7:30 am. I call and check 4 times throughout the day. He only answered once, at 2:00 pm, and tells me he's working on it. I call at 5pm, which is closing time, and he doesnt answer. So, my truck stays in there over night. Call back Saturday, AND THEY ARE CLOSED. ALL WEEKEND. Call first thing Monday morning, he tells me that he wasn't able to get to it Friday (after he told me he was working on it already) and that it will be taken care of today. I call 3 times during the day, noone answers. I go up there at 4pm, he tells me he hasn't even touched my truck. I tell him this is ridiculous, I want my keys, I'm leaving. THE GUY CUSSES ME OUT. And to top it off, he left my $400 Redhead steering box out in the back of my truck all weekend for anyone to steal. Thankfully they didn't. But it rained about 4 inches, and now there is rust on the bolts and gearbox. Scott Lang is an angry little man. Don't let all the cars out in front of his shop give you the false impression that he is busily working on them. They are out there because he doesn't know what he's doing and can't fix them.

THE WORST KIND OF MECHANIC (the term used loosely) . I gave these guys a '75 Trans Am show car and…read morea Corvette to make a minor repairs. They returned to me two sloppy, leaky messes which I had to completely redo upon their arrival home following a 6 week stay in the shop. The negligence, laziness and sloppiness that my cars were handled with were only surpassed by the unprofessionalism exorcized when I called to ask Brad (Bill's son) for an explanation. After 6 weeks of waiting for them to get around to my cars I paid the extremely over priced invoice only to find that there had been more damage done to my cars than repairs. First off, one of the main repairs I asked them to do on the Trans Am (the reason I brought the car to them rather than just doing it myself) must have been too difficult for them to bother with. When I asked how the repair was completed, I was told I never asked them to perform said repair. Ok, so I must have forgotten to request the main repair and reason I brought my car to them in the first place. I must also have had the conversation discussing the repair procedure with Bill and Brad (TWICE) in a dream. Funny though, my friend that went with me to drop of the cars had the same dream. As for the damage they caused to both vehicles I can list all of it (with illustrations) but it would take way to much time so in the interest of the reader's time I will keep it short. On the Trans Am I had to remove the entire intake manifold to replace a sloppy leaky gasket which they charged me to replace TWICE. Yes, TWO TIMES! That's an extra $400.00 because they didn't put the gasket on correctly the first time and had to redo it. I asked why I had to pay for it twice and I was simply told because the work was done. Truth be told it was a sloppy mess oozing with permatex sealant and leaking air thus had to be taken off and done a THIRD time with another new gasket, CORRECTLY, in my own garage by me. Yes, I agree. I should have done it myself in the first place. How a mechanic can charge you to do work TWICE and return the car STILL LEAKING is a mystery to me but at this point it had been SIX WEEKS and I just wanted the car out of there and back home where it was safe from more costly and damaging hands. I cant help but to provide another example though. The preverbal "straw that broke the camel's back". I had a brand new four core radiator in the Trans Am. While I was REDOING THEIR WORK I noticed a glop of permatex on the fins. At first I thought it was just a drop that they spilled (considering how much sloppy spillage they left all over the white pearl painted chromed out engine) but upon peeling it off the coolant began to leak. So, they damaged my radiator (amongst many other parts) and covered it up without telling me. I can only guess they assumed I wouldn't notice it. Are you kidding me? Its a SHOW CAR GUYS. When I saw that I immediately called Brad to ask if he wanted a list of the reasons why they would never see me in their shop again. At that point I think the list was at 10 (It grew from there). I was threatened, told to come in and tell him to his face, told to F*** OFF and heard a "CLICK". He hung up on me which prompted this review. When you gotta vent, you gotta vent. As I stated I can go on for a while but you should get the gist at this point. In short, I guess if you had a junker you can take your chances. However, if you have any kind of knowledge of what a repair should look and perform like CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED! NEGLIGENT, SLOPPY, LAZY, SLOW and UNPROFESSIONAL AT BEST! GOOD LUCK IF YOU USE THEM, YOU WILL NEED IT. Bill or Brad, you have my number, feel free to call. You know I have a whole garage full of '60's and '70's show cars that always need something. At this point I don't know what you can do to rectify this but I welcome any hint of remorse.

It took me a little time to find out what was making that noise. My wheel lock has its own place in my trunk. Instead of putting it back properly it was just thrown in to bounce all over. AND a mechanic there told me that there was an issue involving suspension work with a quote of $300+. I took it to a more reputable shop just up the street and they fixed the issue for $20, yes that's twenty dollars! Unbelievable.

I would have told you to stay away merely for the fact that after I showed interest by emailing…read morethem about a vehicle that BEFORE I even got to the dealership, I received TWO emails and not one, not two, not three, but FOUR phone calls from "Theresa" and a VIDEO WITH HER HOLDING A SIGN WITH MY NAME ON IT (see attached screenshot) and the vehicle I was interested in...! Already turned off! My boyfriend and I drove from Sarasota (an hour and a half away) to look at a 2021 Ford Bronco they had for sale on their site for $38,970 ... I'm going to copy and paste his review so as to not repeat everything over but I do have to say this... the "manager" Santiago Hernandez needs to work on his management and personality skills. He also needs some help with his manners as even as a woman, I know to look others in the eye and shake their hand. That's just a matter of respect with anyone but more especially in a management position. Our salesman who was 1/3rd his age even showed us that respect. Not Mr. Hernandez. He spoke to us sternly, never smiled, and was extremely condescending. He also makes all his salesmen and employees wear masks yet he, himself, did not have one on. Here is a copy of my boyfriends review... Wow! I suggest staying away from this place. We drove an hour and a half to take a look at a Bronco they list for sale on their website for $38,970. When you click on "detail pricing", it shows dealer fees, electronic fees, and tag fees. No problem. Got to the dealership and spoke with a salesman named Michael. Nice guy. He stated that the vehicle price was actually $55,000 and that the vehicle was a demo and couldn't be sold for six months. I let him know what the website shows, and he invited us in to check what it shows online and check with the manager. His computer shows what we showed. We asked to speak with the manager, and in comes Santiago Hernandez. No smile, nothing... I introduced myself and girlfriend. Not a word back from Santiago. He said that the website price is incorrect and he can't even sell the vehicle if he wanted to. I asked why the vehicle was listed at $38,970. He wouldn't answer, and deflected that he can't even sell it. I asked him again and he stated that it was an error and was priced incorrectly. I stated that there are laws that protect the consumer from listing a vehicle at one price, only to be selling it for a different price. I then proceeded to ask that even if the price was correct, why do they have the vehicle listed on the website for sale if they can't even sell it. He stated that he can put whatever he wants on the website. I stated that he stated earlier that corporate runs the website, but now he can make changes to the website so which was it? He responded that he puts whatever he wants on the website. I said thank you for your time and walked out. On the way out "Manager" Santiago yelled across the room, "Why don't you buy a Bronco in Sarasota?" I ignored him and kept walking.

Within minutes, the Alan Jay team had my Corsair inside. They checked it thoroughly but couldn't find any reason for the electrical shutdown, but they were able to reset it, so the car ran fine. This was all within 40 minutes, and the did not even charge me! I cannot express how pleased I was with their quick service and dedication to outstanding customer interaction. I would highly recommend Alan Jay Ford of Wauchula!
