She made friends and enjoyed many activities - I think her favorite was the live entertainment that came for Wine Down Wednesdays! Her physical and emotional needs were important to every staff member. Simply, everyone - nursing staff, dining staff, concierge, leadership, maintenance, therapist, activity staff, and corporate staff are highly engaged and very caring. Not every day was perfect, but there was always an open door policy and a caring heart. My concerns were always heard and quickly addressed.

The care my brother received from Affinity/Bridgeview Palliative Care and Hospice in Stockbridge…read morehas been exceptional. When we arrived home from the hospital, they contacted us shortly afterward and were at our home by the end of the day. The nurse performed a thorough assessment of his needs, provided wound care, and discussed next steps along with a plan to help him feel better. His pain medication was delivered the next morning, followed shortly by additional supplies. What made Affinity exceptional for us was that they cared for my brother daily and worked in true partnership with our family. We did not leave his care solely in their hands--we communicated actively, sent reminders, and provided lists when supplies were running low to ensure we always had what was needed. We also maintained a detailed log of medications, feedings, blood pressure, temperature, and other vitals. During scheduled visits, the Affinity nurses reviewed our documentation, compared vitals, and adjusted medication and feedings when necessary. We were always greeted warmly, and we matched that warmth in return. The Affinity nurses are hardworking, knowledgeable, and supportive. I am sure they are overworked, like so many in their field, yet they consistently show up and devote the time and care needed to truly support both the patient and the family. We are deeply grateful for their dedication.

They claimed it was because they couldn't contact me, yet we never moved or changed our phone number. They seemed to be really underhanded in the way they handled ending a contract. No documentation was ever done in regards to ending the billing process with Medicare.

Had we known we could have engaged their palliative care sooner, we definitely would have, as we felt Dad fell under the radar with the Westhill staff since he was fairly mobile and did not require a ton of care, other than help with dressing and hygiene. Polly texted us updates every time she saw Dad as well as Darcy, the chaplain, who would pray, and sing with him and Kim, the social worker, who would visit and just spend time with Dad. We are very thankful for the whole team. Polly and Kay really shined in the last few weeks of Dad's life. We cannot speak highly enough of them. Westhill let us down on so many levels (excluding Jennifer, the medtech at Westhill who was fantastic), yet Polly was a steady rock for us and for Dad. In the last few weeks, Dad had fallen twice. Both were after hours or on the weekend, so we had the privilege of meeting Todd. He was also on duty the morning Dad passed away. He cared for Dad that morning with gentleness yet great professionalism, and the dignity and respect that Dad deserved, even covering him with a United States flag, as Dad was a Marine Corps veteran. Our "journey" with Sacred Journey, if you will, started as the idea of an extra set of eyes on Dad. It turned into so very much more. We could not imagine Dad's last week or two without you guys. Thank you Sacred Journey. Thank you all who cared and loved on Dad.

We had specific instructions that no one was supposed to tell my brother that he would not be getting bette. She told him he was dying and his organs were shutting down even though my request as his POA was in the notes. Why would you treat a patient without reading the notes? I tried telling the manager and Bobby Brusch (LMSW/Social Worker) but all they wanted to do was sweep the problem under the rug so I removed my brother from their care since my feelings and the treatment he received was way below my expectations. They'd make appointments to come and see him but wouldn't show up. I had to have someone else fill in to give him wound care. Terrible! Do not use them if you love your family member.

This review is long overdue and for that I apologize. My mom passed at age 98 after an illness that…read morecaused her to completely decline from May,2024 until August 17, 2024. We wanted to get her on palliative care at first because she was actually still mobile and could do some things. Her doctor recommended a company and it took several days for them to reach out. The "salesman" (it was obvious) Talked me into believing that palliative care was being phased out and so we just needed to get on hospice. A couple nurses came out but it just didn't feel right. Meanwhile she had a fall and hit her head, her skull was literally visible. So we called 911, we couldn't get her up or control the bleeding. Long story short, she went to ER and was admitted with a concussion and the wound closed with 15 staples. I had called the hospice as id been advised to do should anything happen. The person I spoke with was LIVID. Hospice patients are just supposed to die in a puddle of blood on the floor? The next day they arrived and took all the equipment they had provided including the (used) potty chair. I set out to find another hospice. God and google led me to Gentiva out of Stockbridge GA. From that first call they were and remain wonderful. Each and every person, be it nurses, administrative, CNAs, Were so compassionate and kind. They were so gentle with my mom. After a couple of incidents it was clear she was transitioning. They were here when we needed, night or day. They were very thorough with showing us the proper amount and administration of meds. They are a wonderful group of people who really do care. I wish I had written down all their names but even though I didn't I will remember each and every one of the wonderful people who came to help us.. The empathy and gentle kindness was amazing. I also want to mention Mr. Trammel. He is one of Gentiva 's chaplains and they provide counseling for one year. Every couple weeks he comes to my house. He lets me cry, or say whatever I am feeling. He prays with me, he is a truly Godly man. (And very intelligent.) And he texts me prayers and verses. I'm so blessed he was assigned to me! Of course they have another Chaplain whom I spoke to on the phone, he was super nice but I told him I had grown so much comfort and trust with Mr. Trammel. Anyway, this is getting a little long. I just want to say if you or a loved one is in need of hospice care, please give Gentiva Stockbridge a call.
